Really beautiful game. however, I'm a bit lost on how it works. At first, it seemed like just moving down would show the next square, but sometimes it got stuck. After starting over because I couldn't get anything to happen, I looked it over and now I'm assuming you click on the bird to open the next square, but I'm stuck and I can't get the next square to show no matter how much I click on the bird or anywhere for that case.
Ahhh! What a beautiful experience, the art is perfect and the sound desgin too, the melody is so heart warming <3 Plus, I love the writting and the animations are smooth and calming.
I hope to see a lot more of your projects :D
This is def one of the most original and creative games on the Jam <3
It is a super cute game, like a childrens book :) I could see someone playing this with their child as a bedtime story. I had some issues with having to scroll back up and then back down again for the next part of the story to start. But overal, great game!
The art is beautiful, but the animations are too long (at least in my opinion), and sometimes i scrolled too far, nothing happened until i went back and finish watching the animation even thought i thought it had already finished. That's the only complain i have, so yeah, this is a decent game.
Ты, кстати, случайно не русская?
I'm completely fine with long animations, the problem is that they seemed like they ended, when in reality they did not and i had to come back and wait for them to actually finish. (Yeah i messed up the explanation in my first comment, sorry :D)
Я тоже не в россии. Классно, что русскоговорящие тоже что-то делают, причём на достойном уровне. Ещё парочку работ от русских ребят видел, помимо твоей. Тоже классные.
Wow, the hand-drawn art is amazing. The best-looking game I've seen in the jam. Congratulations on your first completed game, that's awesome!
What a lovely story! Something about it is very nostalgic. :)
Would love to see you grow and expand this game as you continue developing! The story is immersive, and I see opportunity to dive deeper into the medium of "games" by further exploring some interactive gameplay and feedback to let the player know they're headed in the right direction -- I hope that'll help to let your touching story's messages / meanings sink in even better!
Thanks for sharing!!
A pretty cute really atmospheric game with a simple and light story. I like it ! The only thing I can criticize is the fact that you shouldn't have to click through each image to progress, it break the flow a bit.
If you have time check our game https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-5/rate/928514 (we need more honest reviews :))
Really cute and nice game! As a lot of people said, faster scrolling speed, and not being able to scroll down if you haven't finished the panel's minigame would be pretty good quality of life improvements.
Another thing that'd be cool is to have the audio evolve with the story, to match the changing ambiance and environment, for instance having the piano being replace by a music box when night comes :)
Super cute and fun~
Minor issues like whether it's time to scroll down more, and the flag minigame's difficulty - but really no major issues, and nothing unexpected from a jam.
Beautiful and well-made, all things considered!
that was just so quite and beautiful, love your art and the fact that it was hand drawn is just awesome. this was one of the best games i've played for this jam!
This is a game I'd love to show my niece. Beautiful art combined with a nice, dreamy story. Well done! To some feedback: The pictures could've revealed a little faster and sometimes didn't appear which made me unsure if I missed a task to click something or perhaps just had to wait a certain amount of time. Adding some sort of feedback or something that allows the player to understand when the next image will appear. Other than that I think it's a beautiful story you're telling through words and art. Great job!
Beautiful! The frames could fade in a bit earlier, and some kind of feedback, whether it's while you're interacting with the frames, or maybe an indicator that lets you know you can move on, may be helpful. (you had some feedback on some of the frames I believe)
But besides those small things, this was great and very unique. Well done.
I really like the artistic feel it has, even though it was a little hard to know what I should be clicking to progress the story, maybe some visual indicator to know what is clickable and what isn’t would have been nice
This is really awesome! Love the art, the sound design could get some work done, but taking into consideration this was made in a week, it's basically perfect. The camera could move a bit faster or have a bit of a mechanism so that it slows down when a picture is in the middle of the screen, I get why the camera is slow tho and its more of an artistic choice than an objective one. One of the best games this jam for sure
A good game. I love the art style. It being a interactive comic made it better. I loved the story although the speed of the camera can be faster.
the art is absolutely stunning! I loved this idea of a interactive comics :> really well done for a week !
the only things I suggest is to speed up the scrolling a bit. and maybe give an indication of where should the player click? or even an indication that I clicked on the right spot? I ended up getting stuck when she asked me to click on the flag and just started clicking on everything until something happened >.<
