In what way does your game fit the theme?
You combine slimes to make them strong, thus stronger together.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yep! All code, art, and music was created by the four of us.

cool game but needs a bit of a tutorial.

Developer

Agreed, I was working on it near the end of the jam. The first couple of levels where suppose to have text that explains all the mechanics. Hopefully, we can make another build in the future with these changes. Thank you for your feedback.

Played the GitHub version.

I liked it, the art was very nice, puzzles well-designed. Although it took me a while to figure out how to get the slimes where I wanted them, a little tutorial popup would have been nice for that.

Biggest complaints: The puzzle difficulty curve was a bit all over the place though and the music felt repetitive.

Overall, I think it was a very well executed jam submission! You should definitely be proud of it. Good job!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for the feedback. Agreed that the game needed more of a tutorial. And I wish we could have put in more levels so that the curve was more gradual. That said, still glad you enjoyed it.

A neat little puzzle game ^^ I love the art I think the slimes look super cute!

The only drawback I could see is that when I split the slime I didn't know where the immobile one would stay so I had to fuse again a few times before managing what I wanted to do. Other than that it's a solid game,  I think. And the music is chill and very nice.

Thank you for the feedback! I agree, it's a little hard to tell where the immobile one was going to go. We kind of realized that during development, but didn't realize how bad it was since we knew how the placing mechanic worked at a code level. Even so, I am glad you enjoyed our game!

Very clean entry. Would've like to see more, I feel like I just began to scratch the surface of the gameplay in level 6 ( which took me some time to pass haha) Very clever and nicely executed

Developer

Thank you very much! I hope we can make more and maybe do a finished release after the jam judging period is over!

This is a great game, the UI and level design are both really clean, and the art style is great. Though I would have liked a reset button, if possible, to quickly redo a level after messing up rather than having to undo all the steps taken.

Developer

Thank you so much, I am glad you enjoyed it. And there actually was a way to reset, but it was just hidden. Forgot that in the Unity WebGL export hitting escape exits fullscreen, but that was also a pause button with a reset button on that menu. Just an oversight I didn't really consider, but I'm glad you still enjoyed the game.

You have a very cool game! Great puzzle, keep going

Also, don't forget to play and rate my game!

Nice idea and cute graphics. It was little unclear where the slime stays when you split but that was a minor issue.

Developer

Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game art.

We intended to make an animation to make it clear where your slime was splitting to, but in the final crunch hours we realized that was way too many animations to hand draw.

Interesting puzzle, it was nice to play. It would be cool if the graphics were in the style of a fantasy dungeon.

Ok, overall I really liked the game. It's quite short but that's totally understandable, and honestly it just shows I wanted to play more.

I think at this point you should add more slime types, each with a unique behaviour, but the game as it is now is still really enjoyable.

I'd also add an indication as to where the remaining slime will stay when splitting. I did get the idea at stage 5, so it's not necessary, but it won't hurt the game either.

The sound design is easily the best in all of the games I've played in the jam. Easily. So crisp.

The art is simple, but fitting the game, and it was a great choice of a color pallete.

The background music is also probably the best I've heard out of the 25~ games I've played thus far.

Very well done!

Developer

Thank you so much! Doing sound design and music for jams is tons of fun and I'm glad you enjoyed it along with our game.

Slime types do sound quite interesting! During predevelopment, we had a vision of keeping things simple but, especially if we add more levels, that could definitely add some great end-game complexity. Thanks so much for the feedback!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! I agree, about the splitting idea. There are actually quite a few unimplemented animations like that related to splitting and merging. That was one of the ideas we wanted to do but just ran out of time. I am not the guy who did the sounds and music, but I think our team all agrees that he is incredibly talented when comes to music and audio. (Side note, I know I already commented, but I really liked your game.)

Very well made. The idea is unique and there is a lot of potential for this game. The artistic design is very beautiful as well

My only criticism of it is that the rating system doesn't seem to work properly. I got 1 star on levels that I think I should've had more. I only got 2 stars on one level

Other than that, the game is adorable. Nicely done

Developer

Thank you, for the feedback. I am glad you enjoyed it. And yeah, I wish I could have come up with a better system for rating the levels. Just ran out of time, unfortunately.

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed the art! Thanks for playing our game

I really like this game, controls are good, arrow keys or WASD perhaps, all you need is more levels and add a few features (e.g high scores) and this would be a very very good game.

Developer(+1)

I agree. I would like to add an arrow key or WASD support if we could get it feeling good. I think one of our biggest mistakes was actually not leaving enough time to make more levels. We were originally hoping to have somewhere around 20 I believe. Thanks for the feedback, it's really appreciated.

woahh, i made a game about slimes too :o

very great puzzle game, the concept is really great! this has so much potential as a mobile game!

Developer(+1)

I will have to check out your game. And thank you! When I started prototyping out the concept I realized there was no reason why it couldn't be designed for mobile. I kept that in mind so that I could potentially release that way after the Jam.
