I'd probably use bars for the UI, maybe even for the enemy counter, it's faster to understand than having to read text.

One of the most solid games I've come across during this jam!
Had a bit of trouble absorbing the tutorial at first, and I had to switch from Vivaldi to Chrome to play the game with lock screen mode properly. Once I could get started though, I admit I may have tried and re-tried this game the most out of all the jam entries so far. Purely for fun and to score higher.
Enjoyed pretty much everything about it. Would play again!

Now this game is a banger. Awesome fitting music. Fast paced intense combat. And particles flying everywhere to embrace the chaos theme. Love it. Well done.

Very good game. The only thing that bothers me is, that there are so much particles and effects that i can't clearly see my own character. (Also some refined volume-controls would be nice🙃).

Wow this game is super finished, It was very fun to play! It was quite hard so I wish it started out a little slower and got faster as it went on. My only complaint was that I couldn't get the game to fit my screen. Maybe add a fullscreen button or resize it on the itch.io Edit Game settings.

I checked out your game too, we even had the same player character design! Had fun playing it .
A tried and true formula that's always fun.
I really enjoyed the lightshow.
However it was really easy to lose track of the player position and I wasn't able to distinguish item pickups from enemy units.
Also some of the bullets were really hard to react to.

Really nice implementation, but it's clear you wanted to make your own version of "Geometry Wars".
Therefore some deduction on the innovation part for me, but overall really cool game :)
The game is simple but very pretty, Im pretty bad at this style of game but I think it would help if the enemies telegraph where they will spawn for a split second before spawning so you dont just run into them out of nowhere as well as when the game starts maybe give the player a second to calibrate whats happening before they get shot haha. good job overall

This game is incredibly fun and polished! The only problem is that the particle effects are way too big, but it's very fun to play. Also the audio is great!
