In what way does your game fit the theme?
Rhythm Gambit is a bullet hell, roguelite, chess mix with very fast paced and chaotic gameplay.
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Everything except the font was made by me or my team.

I noticed that the maze is generated procedurally, and I'm a big fan of that decision, for it reduces the feeling of revisiting the same place over and over again. Maybe the only thing that is a bit lacking is some sort of player feedback, but I can't really complain about this in a game made in 7 days and with a folder size of 7Mb(!!).
This game's VERY well done. I love the art, the feeling of moving around, the characters, the music is a bop, the enemies have different abilities. This is something I'd probably pay for, I've given it perfect scores everywhere because of how much i loved it. I think the only concern I have is how being hit doesnt have as much of an "oof" as I'd like it to. Other than that though, that was such a beautiful experience. I'm almost shy to tell you to try out our game if you'd like, but i'd love to get feedback from someone as talented as you, so thank you in advance!
Very unique mix of games, it all works so well together! It was pretty hard, especially the knights. Then I realized there's 4 difficulties above normal! Suffice to say, I didn't manage to win, but I got 4 gems in my last run. It's hard to critique anything with such a polished and functional game, but if I had to pick something, maybe the difficulty could be adjusted, though I'm sure it would get easier the more you play. Great work!
Very good game, a good feeling when an enemy touch you and even if I've played without following the rhythm, it was very rhythmical. A very dynamical vibe
Good job on your entry! I really enjoyed it. Im amazed how much you we're able to create in the given time. The music is nice, goes well with the gameplay.
Really smooth movement and a fun concept. It was so effortless to take the pieces which felt nice but would have been cool to have a sound effect to go with it. I do think that it becomes a little too complicated with all the pieces jumping around in real-time. It might have been better as you move, they move game.
Solid contender for 1st, there aren't really any major flaws for me to nitpick.

This is a really cool take on the theme. Catchy music, wonderful little pixel art pieces, and movement rules that most folks will just understand without needing to be taught. That's a powerful combination and you did some cool stuff with it. I think the rooms end up being a little too big, especially with certain pieces being able to move more than a full screen (either away from you or onto you). This makes it a little more chaotic for chaos' sake. Chaos is cool but not when it feels like gameplay is sacrificed.
Overall, great aesthetic that has a lot of potential. I enjoyed my time with it. Well done!
This is GENIUS! PLEASE make this into an actual game, i'd totally buy it!
Everything about this was really cool! Well done to all of you, because the graphics, music, and gameplay were all great!
I do think this game could use some more "juice". Was wondering about adding some particles, a touch of screenshake, and some rhythm-pulsing stuff (I really wanted to make stationary pieces jiggle in time with the music as if there was a giant subwoofer under the board). Maybe I'll spend some time working on a juicy update for when the voting period ends, we'll see.
Amazing art and music! The gameplay was really fun too! Good job !
I really liked this game although I didn't instantly realise that you don't have to move on bit. Why not btw? It'd be a very nice twist IMO
Moving on beat in this game is, admittedly, a bit strange. So, technically you always move on beat, but I wanted to give players some grace to deal with various forms of input lag and make the game more accessible to newer players. I had experimented with a few control schemes, and the one in the game is the one I found to be most responsive. The king always moves on beat, but the inputs can be fudged quite a bit. That said, you'll find the controls to be the most crisp if you go with the beat since (to oversimplify a lot) your inputs are queued if you aren't close enough to the rhythm.
I like chess, so of course i like this game. It's very well polished and the movement is great. The knights seem to always move fast, maybe this is a bug. Nonetheless very good game!
