I think the idea of the mirror is very good, although sometimes you can't see the bottom part and you jump into the void without knowing what you're going to find. Very careful all the aesthetics of the game and music. Congratulations.
Thank you for your feedback, glad you liked it!
The non visibility of the platforms were on purpose, to force you to go back a bit and remember where the platforms are.
Maybe the implementation was a bit clumsy, we’ve had this remark a few times, oh well, that’s how you learn :)
Anyway, thanks again!
Amazing game and i love the reflection idea, it would be nice if the main middle screen had more use other then confusing the player as i found myself only looking at the top and bottom mirrors all the time completely ignoring the middle one which is also the best looking one. But still its a great game and amazing concept, definitely going to rate high!
Check out my game too if you have the time. It would be a big help :)
Thank you so much for your review, we’re very glad you enjoyed our game!
To quote my fellow team member about the "uselessness" of the real world:
Originally, we intended to have 3 more levels where the character's reflection was not visible, so you would have to look at the reflection to know the layout of the level, but then focus on the "real" world to navigate. Unfortunally, we didn't have time to create those levels ^^'.
Anyway, thank you again for your feedback :)
Whow.. guys... i realy like your graphic style and game design. :) Its sooo good.
Thank you very much! Glad you liked it :)
Wow cool game. I like the color used there. Sadly some sprites are a lil bit blurry. Also the control feels a lil bit delayed. But overall the game is cool and beautiful!
Great work!
Thank you!
I’m sorry to hear you had input delay, if you don’t mind me asking, what platform did you play? Web or Windows build?
But anyway, thank you for your kind comment! :)
Hi! I played the web version
Wow, GREAT game. The visuals and the gameplay were so spot on, there were checkpoints exactly where I hoped there would be, and the layout of the maps was super clever. The only bug I encountered was the reflections going off screen a little but I was still able to finish fine so certainly not big issue. Congrats, you did a really good job.
Thank you!
Yeah we wanted death to not be a pain, so placed checkpoint before each puzzle to avoid frustration, glad you noticed and liked it :)
Well, if you’re talking about the platforms at the end of the first, they’re hidden from the view on purpose, you have to go back a bit, let the camera zoom out and memorize where the platforms are but maybe the execution here is not perfect.
Anyway, thanks for your nice feedback!
Seriously cool, you guys. I'm glad to see that you mixed up the way the mirrors worked between levels, it made it a lot more interesting than always having one mirror at the bottom of the screen.
I loved how the music dynamically changed when the shadow enemy came onscreen, that was a nice touch. And the parallax backgrounds were so cool!
Also, it cracks me up seeing the jam description you guys wrote while knowing you had only 34 seconds before the deadline LOL. Same thing happened to my team ;)
Great job :D
Thank you so much, we’re very glad you enjoyed our game!
I’m sure our composer will be happy to know you noticed the adaptive music :)
Hahaha, yeah, when I saw the deadline and saw I had to fill in these extra fields I kinda panicked and wrote the first thing that came to my mind xD
Anyway, thank you again! :D
This was fantastic! Really fun and interesting gameplay, great difficulty level, and beautiful art. Amazing job!
Thank you so much!
The difficulty is usually what we struggle to get right, so we’re very happy to know you thought it was good!
Overall a fun experience, I was excited about how much you leveled up the game mechanic in the levels. My favourite part is the music, the graphics were lovely to. Great idea and execution for the game jam :D
Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you liked our game! :)
I played with lag, but I loved the atmosphere. Nice! :D
We are sorry the game lagged for you, a couple of people reported that as well. Maybe the Windows version can help ?
We are glad you still enjoyed the atmosphere of the game =D !
I really enjoyed this game. The puzzles were enjoyable, the aesthetic was very pretty, and ending to the story was great. I think everything was well done!
Thank you a lot for your feedback =). It's the first time that we try to have a little story going in our game, so we are glad you appreciated it !
Wow! What a beautiful game!
You got me the second I saw the games profile picture and the music made just even better!
Controls are on point. I can imagine some think its too floaty but I like it way more than when a game is too fast. Thanks for having us old people in mind :P
The theme is very well done and little details like the bird make it look even more polished.
very well done!
Thank you a lot for your feedback, we are glad you enjoyed our game =D !
For many jams, the most common feedback we had was that the difficulty curves of our games were too steep, so we tried to be more careful with that aspect while making this game. Your feedback is really valuable to us, because it's the proof that we are on the right track =) !
Oh my god. So thoroughly enjoyed this idea. What a lovely interpretation of the theme. I had a similar idea but chose not to pursue it because I thought it would not be fun, but this has completely proved me wrong. Great work :D
Thank you a lot ! It was a delicate balance for the game to not be too frustrating, so your feedback is really valuable to us =).
Amazingly done, the sound, art, puzzles, story, and all! Very simple controls, easy to pick up and get going. I truly enjoyed it :) I got stuck on how to beat the shadow guy at one part, so it was nice that I could pick a level to continue with the story/game! Definitely my favorite submission so far!
Thank you for your feedback !
Yeah, we saw a bit too late that it was not clear how to pass the first shadow guy ^^'. We had time to update the Windows version to make it more obvious, but the WebGL build took too long and we couldn't upload it... It's always in the last minute that you realise the glaring flaws =p.
We are glad you could still enjoy the game despite this =) !
WOW this game is a 10/10. from the little interactive audio touches to the beautiful graphics and the mind-twisting puzzles, the amount of work and love in this game is off the charts. for a jam game this is super impressive and y'all should be proud. really well done!!
What an awesome review ! We are really glad that the masterminds behind Lori enjoy our game ^^ ! You feedback means a lot to us, thank you !
A fun, short, and well looking colourful game, and so far as I've seen, a pretty well done take on the theme.
A few points of critique. The middle/"real" screen is near to useless. I think I only used it for a short bit in the beginning, after that I stopped looking at it, which is a big shame as it ends up literally taking a third of the screen. Also I managed to defeat the shadow 3 times in unintended ways. Why unintended? Because I could see where you were supposed to kill it, and I decided to just cheese it. Maybe look into making sure that their environment is properly tested.
Thank you for your feedback !
We totally agree that a third of the screen is not useful in these levels ^^'. In fact, originally, we intended to have 3 more levels where the character's reflection was not visible, so you would have to look at the reflection to know the layout of the level, but then focus on the "real" world to navigate. Unfortunally, we didn't have time to create those levels ^^'.
For the shadows, congratulations if you've found some cheese =D. We didn't have time to organize a playtest with external players (that damn time limitation =p !), that's something we will prioritize for the next jam, thank you =).
Extremely polished and well-crafted game. Good use of the theme. Amazing submission!
Kudos to the team!
Thank you a lot ! We are glad you liked it =D !
wow, this was my favourite game so far! the concept is explored so well and I constantly felt like I was advancing. Lots of nice touches with the graphics and audio too.
Thank you so much, we’re very glad you enjoyed our game!
Your feedback is really appreciated!
Really cool and fun to play!
Yhank you, glad you liked it!
This is a really great and well polished game. The reflection mechanic is just really clever and unique. Great work!
Thank you very much for your nice comment! :)
Wow i really enjoyed, it's fun and easy to navigate. I like the cool palette and minimalist graphics. Amazing work!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed our game!
