Wow, this is a great game, fun and it's well polished. Congrats!
Really liked the idea, and the feel of the world is really fantastic, but I couldn't work out how to get the prisoner level to end properly, tried a lot of combinations but they never worked! Maybe have multiple "win" combinations?
What a seriously underrated game! This has one of the best visual styles I've seen this whole jam, and I loved the idea of connecting pieces of evidence visually. The voice acting also a great touch; the whole thing felt immersive! The only thing I might add is a little background music to enhance the tone. Also, the last case was quite a difficulty jump, so I would try smoothing it out just a bit. But overall, this was excellent work, and one of the best games I've encountered in the jam!
This is honestly so well made. Not only is the concept great, it's also well implemented too. Making links feels intuitive and all the camera transitions are nice. I could definitely see this being expanded to a full game with larger and more complex solutions. Only real issue is it's easy to just try random solutions until something works, but making players actually think and solve the mystery like intended is always a big challenge when designing detective games. One thing I could think of is having more red herring clues to throw the player off.
Seriously though, I am a fan of detective games and this is one of my favourite games I've tried so far in this jam. I'll be following this project if you end up continuing with it after. Good job :)
Cool game! I really like the theming of the stereotypical tacks and yarn, the voice acting was great, and sfx also good. The little touches of animation were really nice, like the corner turning up as you move pieces of evidence around, and the paper going through the fax machine. Unforunately the actual gameplay was essentially guess and check, but that could easily be fixed with some more writing. But great work, and great attention to detail, especially for a jam game!
Thanks for the feedback! I've got a couple of interesting ideas on how to make the gameplay a bit more interesting and force players to really think about what they're submitting but for the jam I thought this would be a bit more accessible for people who just wanted to get a feel for it. Hopefully I'll have time to implement it at a later date if I return to the project.
Really great concept, and the models and animations were really polished. Though I felt like I was just connecting random evidence to see what was written down a lot of the time. I was stuck on the prisoners one, I felt like there was no way to really tell where they went with just the given facts. The end screen said they didn't go to the hospital and weren't found at the flat, so I had no clue what to connect to see what actually happened. Great work though!
An amazing game! I love how polished it feels. The voice acting is also really funny, and adds a lot of life to the game.
However I was unable to solve the third one, after like 30 minutes of trying, I'm giving up lol. I'm pretty sure I know which path they both took, and where they ended up, but no matter how I connect these pins, It never works. (this may just be me being an idiot)
Great job!
Why does this game have so few reviews? It is wonderful! It's a great entry for a jam, and I had a great time playing detective. Very good job, congratulations!
very atmospheric game, i love animations, that with red lines is interesting for sure haha but i think puzzles and controls not quite obvious, and i wish there was something more than just making connections between photos choosing by their description, maybe some more narrative elements?
Thanks for your suggestion! We made a game a while ago called Backmask where you had to sift through cassette tapes to find hidden messages. I was thinking that we could smoosh the two games together so players would have to listen to the tapes and rely more on the evidence itself than just the description. Hope you enjoyed playing!
Very interesting game with a unique system. There is a lot that can be done with these mechanics, especially connecting evidence together.
Yeah so by the end of the rating period I'm gonna have a version that's a bit more cleaned up with the last level balanced to be a bit less convoluted. After that I might make more levels, add an overarching plot and maybe even smoosh it together with our other game Backmask if people are interested.
I loved this! the animations were amazing and so was the graphics!!! the controllers were supper smooth. being able to move the different evidence on the board was a great and fun touch. Amazing game! hopefully you continue to work on this game, i would love to play more!
Woah! You guys did an great job building the atmosphere with your models and sound design! I love the low poly style you went for, and I thought the overall aesthetic was really charming! It was also fun moving around the pieces of evidence and linking them together with the string! And the animations with paper going into the printer and the phone being picked up are simple, but effective! Awesome work!
Great job, the game is really nice, the start gave me a lot of fnaf feeling.
