This game is awesome! I love the art style and I love how its sci fi. It was really cool trying to survive and seeing all the different enemies come up. I really liked the graphics and the audio was great as well. Great work!

Wow I really love the aesthetic of this one! Very grungy an fits the theme of your game perfectly. I did struggle to get to grips with the core mechanics at first but after a couple of attempts I managed to survive for a while. I love the presentation and the intro cinematic at the beginning and I think it's the best I've seen in the jam so far. Cool submission!

The mechanics were a bit hard to grasp at first (especially that I was supposed to use the keyboard to switch between options whoops). Once I got it down, the mechanics were fun and the game is really interesting. I think the difficulty could be increased though, since after a bit, everything was fairly easy to maintain.

Okay it took me a little bit to understand the mechanics of it all but once I did it was super fun! The 3D assets are amazing and the atmosphere is great. Also very cool gameplay and SFX. I think with a little polish to the UI/tutorial this is definitely a keeper, great job!

Really cool game.  Love the flow dynamics and the ambient music.  Great job!

Really nicely done game, with lovely intro. Felt like a full immersion - well done.

AMAZING game!!! Got to season 20 and stopped before it was too addictive.

I just love jam games with intros, so this game already started being awesome, but the overall thing worked very well. The graphics and sound were nice, the mechanics were easy to understand and appealing. It could've been a little harder I think, maybe some economy mechanic (if there was I never noticed, for me nodes and pipes seemed free).

Besides that I had a blast, great work!!!

Normally I don't play this genre of games, BUT This Game is so damn good! Fast Paced Challenging gameplay where You're trying to outgain Your losses, like Hell, Once you get hang of everything, everything goes as smooth as butter!
10 Out Of 10.

The game is an absolute winner! Really have fun playing it!
The only thing is that I didn't quite understand how to win: I upgraded the main building to MAX level but that was not enough. Also, having an in-game tutorial directly in the game flow would be nice.

Very awesome art style and opening cutscene! However, was a bit confused on what was going on, I read the rules too. Maybe add some defenses to spice things up?

I really like this style and theme and I think it was quite entertaining. I think it could communicate with the player more, because I still don't know if the upgrades are free or what, but I like the whole concept. I also like the Ark idea, it's the sci-fi version of what my game is about :D Great job!

Playing was really enjoyable. I think that game needs some balance adjustments

I love this game! Idk why, but it reminds me of old Dune 2000, which I was a big fan of =)

Enjoyed the original concept and art assets! Gameplay loop was very smooth, but got a little repetitive towards the end.

Very polished game, loved it all, but the gameplay felt hard to me, probably because I have no idea what I'm doing though XD. Good correlation to the theme. Deserves a high rating for sure.

The art and music is absolutely amazing, I enjoyed the beginning with the scenes and story telling. It sets the tone really well and gave me chills. The game play itself is not the most intuitive, as I spend quite a while figuring how to place things. Overall amazing ideas and design! High rating!

The atmosphere is unreal in this game, the graphics, animations, sound, music it all blends together so well. Unfortunately I don't find the gameplay intuitive, what do all the buildings do? Which buildings can be attached to each other and why? So a small tutorial would really help you get right into it I think.

Edit: I overlooked the tutorial on the main menu. I have read it multiple times and cleared some things up, but it is still a bit vague for me what the actual goal is.

Developer

I'm glad that you liked the atmosphere. I am sorry that you are confused with the gameplay, I'll try to explain how to play in depth.

  • You have the main building. It needs oil, and if it doesn't have oil - you lose (there is "Pressure" indicator that shows you how much oil is flowing into the main building).
  • You can place buildings. When you try to place it on a smokey-thing, it will become an oil pump. If you try to place it on the plain ground - it will be an oil tank. Oil pump, as you can guess, pumps oil. Oil tank serves as conjunction and it may store a small amount of oil in case of anything.
  • You can connect two buildings with pipes. It allows oil to flow from node with more oil to the node with less. You need it to feed your main building with oil.
  • You can build simultaneously only small amount of buildings (at start only 1). When you try to place multiple buildings at the same moment, the ones closer to the main building will be constructed first. Buildings are not functional when they are in the process of construction.
  • Buildings can be damaged by various disasters (UFO, asteroids, tornadoes). Damaged buildings are not functional, but they will be repaired automatically in the same order as described in the previous part. It means that you might want to have multiple ways for oil to flow from every pump to the main building. Also you want to have more pumps, than your main building currently needs because they will eventually get damaged and stop working for some time.
  • Long pipes are easier to get damaged, so it is usually better not to connect far pumps directly to the main building, but to make intermediate oil tanks and connect through them.
  • Pipes can not intersect each other or other nodes (including smoking oil deposits)
  • You can upgrade buildings. Every upgrade gives your buildings more HP and also pumps will pump more oil. Main building also can be upgraded. Every upgrade of the main building  gives you opportunity to construct more buildings simultaneously, but it will also consume more oil per second.
  • The goal is to upgrade the main building to level 9

I hope it will help you to figure out the gameplay (if you will give it a try again).

I followed your guide and almost beat the game first try. I can see that the gameplay has been thought out well and would like to see it explained to this degree in the game as well, it really helped!

The gameplay is solid for me, it takes a while to adjust as the enemies get spawned almost immediately at the start, but you can get by eventually and be used on keeping every node to function well. For me the easy seasons are the tornadoes and meteors, as for aliens, I find them kind of difficult due to their speed.

The audio and models work very well just as how they delivered the atmosphere, notably, with the cutscene everyone's talking about.

If the game is going to be updated or expanded out, I think the enemy's spawn at the start could do some adjustments/delay so that the player have enough time to prepare things out. Great work for all of it!
