Omg the game is soo cool. It's like vampire survivor but better. Nice concept.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, I wouldn't dare say I made a better concept than vampire survivor tho hahaha !

Definitely a great inspiration for this game nevertheless.

The game starts off a bit slow, but gradually gets more interesting as you get upgrades, I like it. But why do these people keep moving into a neighbourhood with a berserk paladin?

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it !

You gotta admire the dedication of these people moving forward not matter what.

Very addictive game. I wasn't able to make through 15 days but I had great fun.

Developer

Thanks :)

Reaching the 15th day is impossible, there's a balance issue don't worry

This one's dangerous for me!  These wave based games have this funny effect of making me lose tracks of hours of time lol.

Excellent work all around- graphics are great, gameplay is thoroughly enjoyable, and the sounds match perfectly to everything going on.  Also I love the puns in the upgrade names!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback, making players stick around was my main goal so I'm glad it worked out :)

I like the 2.5D style. Game level feels great and challenging. The Day night system is fun and I enjoy chasing all the villagers to their home when it just enter the night period lol. Would like to see more combo but it may out of scope for a game jam. Anyway, I think it is fun.

Developer

Thanks, I'll look into that once the vote dealine is reached :)

A very fun game with unique mechanics of killing sacrificing villagers for more blessings/upgrades! (Just believe that it's for the greater good, don't mind it.) The upgrades are versatile and there's this one that had me laughing lol.

The use of day and night cycle just works; it is not there just for visual purposes, but also for determining the game's design and its mechanics. Over the course of the gameplay, you get to feel that a day's of killing sacrificing villagers is about to end and something is coming i.e. the demons of the night.

The camera, 3d environment, and pixel art works perfectly together for me. The wobbly effect while moving is not jarring at all, the 3d world makes it feel more open to explore with, and the pixel art is cute.

Overall, it's a cool game with juices and delivers fun experience to the player!

Developer

Thanks for this in depth feedback on your experience, glad you had a laugh ;)

well polished, a game that makes me want to comment good things about it, great job!

Developer

Happy to read this, thanks :)

Definitely one of my favorites I've played so far! I love the adorable pixel art and the upgrade mechanics. I do wish there was a way to heal the shrine since it is hard to avoid damage entirely, especially towards the beginning when I didn't have any upgrades. However, this is extremely well done and I had a blast playing it!

Thank you so much, I'm giving some thoughts into this question to maybe produce a better designed gaemplay after the  vote deadline

Love the 2.5D style and all the animations were very satisfying, good game!

Developer

Hehe I recommend trying out 2.5D, definitely a fun experiment on my end

Submitted

Not a bad game. Good job was fun to play.

Developer

I'm glad you had fun :)

Very nice movement and animations on the poof when the player moves. Although maybe I would have liked a different more unique approach to the theme of end is a new beginning rather than switching from night to day. but overall nice work graphics and audio are super cool as well. keep it up!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much !

Although it's not obvious I really wanted the player to feel different between the two cycles, and to be perfectly honest the essence was: Ending a life to begin a new day, since ending lives helps you protecting more, but I was so close to the deadline that I half assed wreote it on my page hahaha

Submitted

I especially love the camera movement and the player movement, swinging was really satisfying. Simple yet creative concept!!

Developer (1 edit)

I spent much time on both player and camera, I'm happy you noticed :)

For a game made in 72 HOURS, this game is really fun! I like how you mashed 3D and pixel art together! what adds the cherry to this cake? is the holy cow. honestly, I don't think there's anything wrong with the game. maybe the orbs when you kill a person could add health to the shrine (if it does, maybe a bit more?). but other than that. this is very good! better than anything I could make!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feedback, I'm so glad to read that !

The idea of getting health thanks to the souls is great, I should look into that.

But please don't be that harsh on yourself, your game was really interesting and the gun play felt great. Learn by doing JAM after JAMs and you'll eventually get there !

Submitted

It was really fun to play, the game feels so polished (especially in 72 hours!) and the abilities are quite interesting. It makes me want to try a similar art style … !

(If only I ignore why I kill my own people lol (and I noob

Developer(+1)

I would definitely encourage going for 2.5D, it was my first time using it and was realy fun to play around with !

Submitted

Glad to hear!

Well done! The game is very polished, especially for 3 days of work!

Developer

Thank you !

HOLY GAME
God forgive me, but this is super fun to play LOL

You did an excellent work! Graphics and audio are perfect!
But in my second play, enemies didn't spawn, i don't know what happened

Developer(+1)

Nice pun ;)

Yeah that's a known issue, to replay the game you need to refresh the page which is a bummer since we're not able to fix any bugs before the end of the voting time :(

Submitted

I am astonished by the fact you made this game in 3 days. For me the the game is a little too hard (I am a noob). Gameplay is very fun, but it could fit the theme more.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback !

You definitely hit where it hurts (it means that your feedback is great don't worry), I playtested this game so much and tweaked so much values. In the end, I forgot to make a difficulty adapted to an audience, and instead have a difficulty that is fitting for a hardcore gamer or the game developer itself (me) :)

Submitted

Really cool! I like the game loop a lot and the art is also super cute. Reminds me a lot of cult of the lamb :). Great work!

Developer(+1)

Cult of the lamb and Don't starve together were definitely what made me go for 2.5D.

I'm greatful to reach a man/woman of culture :)

3 days is a great job for this title! I really enjoyed it and you made a great aesthetic. I am a sucker for 2D sprites in 3D worlds. I did get a bit dizzy with the camera, though, and I wonder if it could do with a little more smoothing.

Well done!
