I can tell that you put a lot of thought into the mechanics of this game. The gameplay is really engaging and it's clear that you're always thinking about ways to improve the experience for the player.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback :)

Fun game :). Wondered for a bit how to "attack" but soon worked out it was on auto.
Nice things with the blessings, offering different ways to upgrade.
Needed a way to fi up the Church though, couldn't heal it up.
Great job, well done.

Developer

Thanks, yeah definitely lacking a way to sustain the shrine, I'm working on it ;)

Game looks great, love the feel of the animations, audio's great, you did 2.5D fantastically.

Developer(+1)

Thanks, means a lot to me as this game is my first attempt at making a 2.5D game !

Submitted

SUPER nice game!!! Love the mix with 2D and 3D, love the simplicity, very well done!!

Developer

Thank you so much ! I'd definitely recommend trying out 2.5D

Awesome work from the 2.5d to the day night cycle, playing this was great fun! My jam partner recommended playing this one and I was not disappointed. Great job!

Developer

I actually so happy that someone recommended it hahaha, thanks for taking the time to play and even leave a feedback !

This was a very polished game and only made in 72 hours. I'm impressed. Like one other person mentioned, the ally had a couple of moments where they seemed to off doing their own thing but overall it was a solid game. Sorry I couldn't give more feedback, I didn't have much time to play.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for taking the time to play AND leave a feedback, makes me really glad

Hey Mathieu Schmerber thanks for your submission I was really impressed initially by the art style, the animations and it's implementation, this accompanied by the different day and night soundtracks really helps set a tone. The fundamental theme of each day is a new beginning is a strong hit for the theme of the Jam. With the controls being pretty simple I could see this being a successful and intuitive mobile game.

Through my plays I didn't encounter any major bugs but found that the 'Holy Cow' (Ally)'s AI sometimes felt hit and miss i found on a few occasions he'd just run or chase something out of the map. I would also be interested to some more CC (Crowd Control) abilities added like a knockback/push and have an Endless Mode added.

Overall I think this was a very successful submission with a lot of polish, it would be interesting to see what you would do with more time spent, great job!

Thank you for this more in depth feedback :)

Wow nice entry! It has a uniqueness to it while still something recognizable (the 2.5D aspect reminds me of paper mario, and the genre with waves was the genre I first tried to make a game around).
I loved the art, music, SFX and gameplay, really enjoyable!
And to be able to pull all that off and have it so well polished in 72 hours ... (!!!) Great job :)

(I was sooo close... ^^)

Developer

Thank you so much, really means a lot to me :)

Developer

Geez what a gamer !

great game

Developer

I appreciate it, thank you :)

i commented already but im throwing it on the jam page too, did you use spry tiles for your game?

Art style compliments the game really well and the actual gameplay is addicting! Only issue I had with the game is that the souls would only go to the altar if you were close to them it seemed like? It would've been nice if they went to the altar no matter what distance, but maybe I was being too greedy lol.

Very nice job getting this done in72 hours. That's insane, great work here!

Developer(+1)

Thanks ! That's the first feedback I have on the range at which you collect souls, and it makes a lot of sense. At first, I wanted to have a minimum range to collect them so that I could add upgrades affecting the range of souls, but in the end I didn't find the time to do so. I'm definitely going to remove the range restriction as soon as we are able to edit our game again :)

This was an amazing experience, slaughtering civilians just to get better upgrades? Awesome.

I really applaud your CLEAN game loop! Not many people can achieve a game that very nicely loop when you die and begin again, and is still fun. I also appreciate that your upgrades stack, nice touch.

The graphics, man this is SO COOL, i've tried a 2.5D style once in a jam before, but got nowhere as near to perfection as you.

Also, my game got bugged the second time and nighttime never occured xDD so new civilians just kept spawning in and giving me their tears to feed on, and I got the best upgrades ofc.

Amazing job tho, you've got a good chance of winning this.

Developer

Thanks for your feedbacks, really means the world to me as I never really shared my games before !

I'm aware of the bug you had, for some reason, it's impossible to retry the game without reloading the web page. Definitely going to fix that when the vote deadline is over :)

Submitted

Wow, what a great game! I absolutely loved the art. The only issue I had is while furiously clicking trying to collect as many sacrifices as I could I accidentally clicked on a blessing without even getting to read the options. This happened to me three times. Maybe you could add a confirm blessing button or something to prevent that from happening. Otherwise super fun, great job!

Developer

Thank you so much !

Maybe it was not clear enough, but you actually don't need to click to collect souls, essentially you can just play with WASD within the game :)

Submitted

Oh wow, now I feel dumb lol. I went back and played the game the right way and it was a much smoother experience without my unnecessary clicking. Super fun game, I keep coming back to it and playing!

Developer

that's the greatest compliment :)

This is one of the most fun games in the jam. I really like the combination of 2d stickers and the 3d vibe, and the fact you need to kill everyone to progress - even the innocent people lol.

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it !

Submitted

I really enjoyed this game. How did you do so much in 72 hours and also I think the 2.5d view is really creative. Really good game

Developer

Thanks for your feedback :)

The answer is quite simple, find yourself a nice workflow :)

I like to make my game mechanics really modular, this way you can get a lot of content done very quickly, ofc this approach requires a decent deal of experience and programming skills, but everyone can get there eventually. I'm still quite the junior myself, but I've been on my game dev journey for 8 years, so I gained some workflow feeting my needs by the time :)

Holy fu*k, that’s so fun game! Love the combination of 2D assets with 3D perspective.

Developer

I'm so glad you had fun, thanks for taking the time and leaving a feedback :)
