This is really awesome, I really enjoyed the art style, holy cow!
Holy molly, thank you !
Really fun game. The switching between a more peaceful phase and then the defense phase was really nice. Upgrades were a bit too difficult to get but the polish that exists everywhere is great from the little bouncing and particles of the player, the skulls from deaths, and the audio cues + song changes for the phases
Thanks for reachign out, I'm glad you liked it :)
I wanted the player to feel powerfull during the day, but endangered during the night so it was definitely a challenge to seek out the good vibe with musics.
very nice game, i like the idea of sacrificing the towns people so that you can grow stronger to then defend the towns people, it begs the questions If you sacrifice them all, whos left to protect?. but yeah fun game, i like the 2.5d style feels really good, like a base defense vampire survivors, maybe could use a bit of balancing, it was quite hard to get upgrades even when i had two fertile upgrades.
Thanks for taking the time and comment :)
I thought it was a goofy concept that really needed to be executed.
It was also my first time playing around with 2.5D, and now that the JAM is over I don't know how I'm going to go back to plain top-down 2D hahaha. The balance is definitely the biggest flaw at the time, some perks looks amazing but are actually not good in the end just like the fertile upgrade which may be the worst of all.
To progress, the best is to optimize damage to kill villagers quicker (holy cut, holy pointy) and still stack upgrades to zone out enemies (holy cow, holy arrow). In the end the perks upgrading mere stats are not much of a change, definitely need to tweak that up.
Amazing work! Very Interesting concept with great execution! It looks, plays, and sounds really good!
Thanks !
I never spent this much time with SFX and musics for a JAM, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
This might be and remain my favourite game of the jam... I spotted the cover for the game on the submission list and it immediately caught my eye. I love 2.5D pixel art and this game didn't disappoint :). reading the description you made this in 72 hours? That's amazing. Well done to you!
It's incredibly polished. The movement is bouncy and responsive, attacking feel satisfying and the art is just amazing. My only thing criticism was that the game did feel a little unbalanced as I progressed.
Great submission! Hope to see it get even more reviews :)
I'm so in owe reading this, thank you so much !
Spent so much time tweeking and fidling around with the game feel and animations as I set a challenge not to animate the sprites. My big goal was to make it as satisfying as possible for players to stick around and I'm glad you went that way :)
You did seek out the balance issues well hahaha
cool game
I absolutely love 2.5D games so this scratches a bit of an itch for me already. Plus, I really enjoyed
Slaughteringsacrificing the townspeople for the greater good too (maybe I enjoyed it a bit too much). A very fun game with humor and charm. The only way to improve it is to maybe see a bit more progression towards the beginning. Maybe it was just me but for a while I felt quite weak. Other than that, I don't really see to many issues, great work!Thank you for your feedback !
Definitely some more balancing, you're right
it has juice, liked it a lot
great game overall!
Nice graphics! And the blessings made the game so much more interesting!
Glad to read that ! Really tried my hand at drawing more, I mean it's still shitty pixel art but with VFX and SFX everything gets 100% better :D
This is a fun one. I like the visual design you went with this.
Thanks for your feedback, it's true that 2.5D hits different. I'm glad I tried it out, I learned a lot.
Nicely done! Someone has been clearly working hard!
Yeah not gonna lie, I had three days so it was kind of a rush :p
That's what I love about Jams
One of my favorites to come out of this jam so far! Love the upgrade system, would recommend adding a "confirm" button as sometimes I would be spam sacrificing and accidentally click an upgrade.
You've no idea how this comment made my day hahaha !
Thanks for the feedback, I'll be sure to implement it as soon as we are able to edit our submission without getting disqualified.
I had a lot of fun playing your game! The pixel art was really funny and the game was well-polished. I also thought the isometric camera was well-done. Great job!
Pretty nice game! I love the graphics and idea of the game! But it is a bit unbalanced, as it is hard to get past night 3 and also on my 3rd try the game bugged out and the enemies didn't spawned anymore. But overall, pretty decent game with lots of juice!
Yeah I know of this bug, I noticed it way past the deadline T^T. On my end, I'm able to reach the 10th night with some focus, but ofc I'm biased since I made this x)
Really nice, i like the 2.5d style, i'll have to try that out sometime
I'm glad you enjoyed it !
At first I was going for your usual a 2D top down game, and some night I thought of tilting the camera. It was a challenge to make the design of the "kill'em all" genre work because of the perspective but I believe it worked out in the end.
This game is amazing, great job lol
very good! The movement was a bit too shakey for me to get used to, but the gameplay was fun and the graphics look amazing!
Thanks ! I'm more of a programmer than an artist so I did my best :)
Great execution I like the graphics font and audio. The theme is not crystal clear but I see it. Overall Great job!
Thanks !
