How does the game fit into the theme?
You're supposed to skip the first spring in the 3rd area and go straight to the second one!!!!!!!!!!! anyways-

the games about always moving and you can't stand still for a moment to sniff the flowers as you are being constantly chased across all the levels, no matter what you have to keep moving!

What premade assets did you use if any?
the music and tilesets, and player sprite was premade ( made them myself) while everything else surrounding it was made specifically for this jam! this is a side project from a much bigger project so some assets from it are reused, but the game itself at its core is new and falls in line with it being made within game jam time

What are the Discord usernames of everyone on your team?
M3tabble and Beetledope

Did you use MiniScript for your entry?

No

Did you use Playroom for your entry?

No

Cool art style, but sometimes important objects blend into the background.

Hitting the max movement speed feels so nice, and music is on point with the artstyle&gameplay. Nice combination.

Z wasn't the best choice but never mind! I had fun with it! Reminds me of pizza tower :D

Developer

This game was designed with the arrow keys as the movement option sorry Wasd warriors 💧, also first pizza tower mention! Surprising! Thanks!

that wasn't really a critic ;) it hasn't affected my rating ... but I would be easier for me because I'm left handed. Was it really inspired by pizza tower in some aspects?

Really good game, i just wish you didn't have to press Z to exit, also level 3 i think was too hard.

Developer

Thanks! Though I did tell you how to beat it in the description since I can't fix it rn, but thanks for the feedback!

Hello!

Congrats on this work! The game's atmosphere is really dynamic and intense—I really enjoyed that!

From a design perspective, I think the flow mechanic with the shift key is really cool, and the FX make it feel super satisfying! The die-and-retry aspect is also smooth and well-executed, I must have died at least 100 times without even noticing! 😆

As a suggestion for improvement, I would make the early levels a bit easier to help players get used to the mechanics.

Developer

Thanks!

Really nice platformer. Just in case you didn't know about it, here's a bug I got from using a controller

Developer

What happened right before you got the error, helps me much better in knowing what went wrong

Submitted

Changing rooms. When I decided to start a new run with controller this happened when completing one of the first few areas, I forget which exactly.

I really liked the art, although it was a bit difficult for me, I think there could have been a softer curve in terms of difficulty of the levels. But it's still a fun game, with great art.

Great work! :D

Submitted

Intense, in a good way.

Submitted

Very hard xD but I still enjoyed.

Pressing Z to exit a door felt very unintuitive, especially when it's a game about going fast. I would recommend just making it a proximity thing not too be too punishing to the player!

Good job!

beginning a bit hard despite it a chill game overall

First things first, the music is actually really good. The lofi track at the beginning is really chill and groovy, and the gameplay music is quite energetic fitting the theme of the game. I also enjoyed the gameplay as it does keep me on my toes, but I do think the spike moves really fast especially at the start of the game. Maybe you can make the spike move slower at the start to help players ease in to the game before you start challenging them even more.

Overall though, I really enjoyed the game and I do hope I can check out more of the music sometime!

Rly cool art, pressing the z key for interaction was a little hard but fun overall

Submitted

I like how you have to keep moving in order to increase your speed, it fits the theme really well. The puzzly level design is nice and the music slaps

Submitted

nice but the browser version didn't open for me. [it was all black]

Submitted

I love speedrunning games but dang this is really hard! I really enjoy it. I would have preferred a different key for interacting though. Z felt really unnatural to me.

Submitted

Honestly this game slaps. Music, art, controls, everything just slaps idk how to describe any other way. Maybe a little polish is required, there are some bugs, but it doesn't matter because it SLAPS. Art style especially!

Submitted

i LOVE clicking the x key randomly. Peak. Though, the hitboxes were very unforgiving.

Submitted

Fun game. I think the enemy hitbox is slightly too large as it can feel unfair sometimes when you get hit, also the levels with the cloudy backgrounds cause a bit of lag on my pc, I'm assuming you used the GameMaker effect layer for that? It is known to cause some frame rate issues if you overdo it, but it wasn't anything gamebreaking! The art is especially good and I love all the different animations for walking, running and sliding. Some of the levels took a few attempts to complete, but I didn't find it unfairly difficult. Good job!

Developer

ooohhhhh sorry abt the lag haha, I just have a really good laptop so I didn't notice it, thanks for the feedback!

The art for this game looked really nice, great job there! I do have some feedback though; the character feels very floaty, like it takes a long time to fall back to the ground. A thing most platformer games do as well is actually make the character fall faster than normal. So I would recommend adjusting a few things. Good game though :)

Developer

The game has varying jump height and if you let go of the key you will fall faster, have you been holding down on the jump key? if so thats prob why the character feels floaty
