Please share with us the connection your game has with the theme "Tough Choice"?
You play as an angel, and you'll need to choose whether to accept a prayer, or to decline it, based on what the letter says!

Did you use any third party assets like art or music? If so, which ones?
The only third party assets were some sound effects from pixabay or myinstants, the rest all made by me :D

This game, as mentioned below, is like a paper, please. I love it although sometimes I had it difficult like with the alien, one day I will probably learn their language hehe.

I liked the art of the game in general and the calm music that makes you feel no pressure at any time.

I also found the mechanics to be very good, your morality and happiness decrease if you make mistakes.

Congratulations on your creation!

Developer

Thank you so much maan!

Happy to hear the art and the music both fit togheter nicely :))

I had a smile on my face the whole time I was playing this game, and it gave me a hefty amount of chuckles. The art is amazing; it perfectly suits the mood, and the palette/color selection is exquisite. The character design is simply flawless.

I think the game has huge potential, so I hope you decide to keep working on it! If you do, I think the game would greatly benefit from a more complete UI, perhaps giving a preview (or hint) of how much you’d lose/win with each choice, and some sort of way to track who you helped (categorizing requests in moral areas, for instance, could be a way to shortcut this to prevent or mitigate decision paralysis). I get why you didn’t do it, as it could give away too much, which totally makes sense in a shorter game. However, in a more fleshed-out version, it could be crucial to keep the decisions strategically impactful—especially if you choose to procedurally generate or randomize the characters/letters/etc., as others suggested. Great job

So happy to hear this, thank you so much :D

Fun fact, there is actually like some events half complete for like a green or red prewiew to show you the losses and the gains, but decided to actually work on solving the bugs lol

I would like to actually continue this game some day, or at least to reuse the main mechanics and make something similar to it, and lots of the tips you suggested would probably make it into the final version ;)

Still glad you enjoyed, thank you!

Dear God, what an endearing, funny, chuckle-inducing experience! It's Prayers, Please! The art is insanely good, and I especially love the fact that it's a complete, compact experience — great for a jam submission. I think you have a gem here if you're willing to keep working on it.

Developer(+1)

I guess prayers please could have been a really good name lol

Thank you so much dude! Hope i can continue this in the future, even tho i've spent so many hours trying to fix every single bug that now even seeing that mf of mario rossi scares me :')

Thanks again! :D

Nice game, it reminds me Papers Please.

I swear to God that if Mario Rossi is writing me another letter... :-D

Sometimes I have hard time in Accept or Decline a letter, maybe collision polygon is not properly set.
It would be also nice to put back the letter and photo inside the envelope when you double click on them

You have definitely a nice game on your hand, fix the little bugs, add more stories and that's done!
Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the feedbacks!

Btw WHY DOES THIS MARIO ROSSI BUG APPEAR TO EVERYBODY BUT NOT MEEEE

I really wanted to add some QoL changes like those you mentioned, but i actually submitted the game like 5 minutes before the deadline, so... :')

About Mario Rossi, it feels natural to me that it appears for me because I'm Italian :-D
To find the bug try the following steps:
1) Play the game from itch.io and not from Construct, you might have touched the code somewhere in the uploaded version.
2) Sit with friends and family members, let them try the game without explaining anything about it. See how they play and if they get Mario. It might be that we try a combination of things that you don't do it because you made the game and you know exactly where to click and drag things.
3) Try to put envelopes in the drawer, remove letters and photos from the envelop, and drag those on the interactive areas, that might be the thing causing the trigger.
4) Add logs to the code to track what's happening with variables and such, you might notice something weird.

I know about the deadline, I had I 9 more hours, but for me was time to sleep, so I did a last bugfix causing at least two more serious bugs and I found it out the day after, once the jam was concluded! :-(

Questa è inaspettata, un altro italiano nella jam HAHAHAAH

Grazie mille per i conisigli comunque, quando avrò un pò di tempo libero dopo la jam vedo se sbraitare per qualche ora cercando il bug :')

Hehehe, siamo ovunque ormai! Pochi ma ci siamo ;-)

Hahaha, fammi sapere se hai sistemato Mario Rossi, ho la sensazione che diventerà parte di un mini gioco, almeno per te :-D

Beautiful and interesting game

Thanks a lot :D

Really clever and original game.  I loved the amount of story you were able to pack in here.  Also, great tutorial.  Sometimes the clicking and dragging felt a little finicky, but that is my only complaint.  Really well done.  Another one of my favorites.

So happy to hear that, thanks a lot :))

Really on theme and I love the art and interesting choices creating some story telling. Great entry!!

Developer

Thank you so much!

Cool game mechanics—though there are a few bugs that made me restart a couple of times. Once you get past that, it’s all good. Quick question: do you hate cats? (smile) Overall, a fun and complete game!

Thank you so much! I really don't know what to do anymore with these bugs lol, do you remember what were they and what happened?

btw no, i love cats, but i always thought that if they could, they would probably wipe out everyone from existence. Cats are evil, but still fluffy and cute

Yes when I pulled out the picture and tried to move the letter up or down the green or red glow did not appear.

2nd time I moved the letter to quick in the tutorial then it did not go to the last speech-bubble so I could not continue. After that no problems other then approving the cat I died :)

Developer

Got it, thanks ahah

I made a video showcasing the issue and also have a few possible fixes. If you’re interested, feel free to hit me up on Discord!

Developer

You did? Thank you so much man, i'll text you on ds, let me know!

Such clean and nice experience! I like idea of using edge of the screen but it worked not every time. Well done!

Developer

Thanks a lot! If you are talking about the drawer or the accept/decline mechanic, then its normal: you can't open the drawer with a closed letter, and you can't accept two contrasting letters or decline both of them :))

Definitely a banger, love the style, theme is perfect.
