I didn't got time to rate the game during the voting period but I really wanted to give this one a try so here it is.
My best score was 13 at my third try.
Lovely entry! Cozy and fun. Kudos to all these different nice looking dinos. There could be some more polish effects here and there, and that would be perfect! But, hey.. Nice performance for this jam! Well done! :)
The art style and feel is very chill. Its great! It was a bit confusing adding ingredients to the tea, I wasn't sure what was happening and first play though I dont think I scored a single point. As others had mentioned having visual and sound queues when ingredients get added to the tea would help. And maybe even like a bell and buzzer (or some other positive/negative noise when you score a point or lose a point would help you know if you succeeded or not. I did appreciate where your were going with the game though. Great work!
The graphics, concept and vibe are really good. I'd suggest more visual feedback when interacting with the game. Like the ingredients could snap into the mug or the customers could smile when you get their order, something like that to let the player know they're doing what the game wants.
Yeh, lots of people have suggested visual feedback and I’m working towards adding it. I had planned to add a smiling animation but the randomized sprites work by randomizing the animation at the beginning of the scene so that would make some dinosaurs appear with a smile which wouldn’t work. I like the game you made. Although I didn't score so great on the leader board mainly because I was eating whilst playing. I'm not sure if I can say anything that anyone else hasn't said. Everything worked fine for me, it was easy to know what to do and only thing that could be better in my opinion is if when you drag the item into the mug, it could destroy it and turn it into steam that matches the colours
love the art and the leaderboard that's really cool made me replay 24 is out of my reach though ^^
I would completely agree with the comment by Amanda Fernandes and especially on the lack of feedback it could be a sound, a color when a item is correctly place in the kettle or a displacement of the item from the kettle to the table when it's place ...
for the "bug" I don't think this game as any bug per say I'm not sure but I think your checking if sprite is in kettle like that
if (minSprite.x > minKettle.x && maxSprite.x < maxKettle.x) same for y or a engine function that does that or your doing perfect pixel hitbox in similar way.
if Im right you should either reduce the sprite hitbox or invert the condition like this
if(maxSprite.x > minKettle.x && minSprite.x < maxKettle.x)
always be kind to the player if he's a bit wrong he should be right.
Firstly, thanks for playing my buggy little game! I am definitely going to add some player feedback when the correct ingredient is placed (already on my to-do list). My game engine is Gdevelop which uses visual scripting and the checking sprite in the kettle event goes something like this (If *ingredient* was dropped by mouse and is in collision with mug add *number *). If the numbers added equal the randomized order number the tea is recognized as correct. So because of the way my code works I can't really control what *is in collision with* means so I think it's mostly a hitbox adjustment problem. Anyways, thanks so much for your available feedback.
Oups sorry I was completely wrong I retest after testing GDevelop a bit and not understanding what the problem was because it really don't do the hitbox check the wrong way even with Ignore object that are touching set to yes.
Now after rereading your response I'am sure you don't decrease the number if i remove the object I test it by doing the valid recipe and putting the tea bag back in the shelf and my score increase but if you miss reclick to move the object it's already counted and you get too high of a number
and by dropping the water 1 time and 2 time and 3 time i get water + magma + violet tea valid
so water is 1 magma 2 violet 3

I was thinking of decreasing the number but no I don't see that working with the condition in GDevelop. I think the best is to do the collision check with the object and kettle when the player click on the back arrow.
you don't really care if it was drop by mouse anyway so I think that should work.

I think it's an adorable concept and I love the art. It's frustrating that I couldn't figure out how it worked, but being cute makes up for it a bit!

A Nice little game though it could use some polish. It doesn't read very well to just have the items on top of the volcano shaped mug as I kept expecting a sound effect or animation or something to happen to signify it was being added. It seem you realize that somewhat already based on your reply to others, but it still plays well as is, so even if you don't update it later down the line, it's still okay.

I was definitely thinking that there needed to be some more visual feedback when you add things, this idea kinda fell apart because I decided that you would just drag things into the mug (I didn't want things to be too busy) but maybe I will add this in a later update. The game is really fun!
And the fact that it has a leaderboard makes you want to play over and over again, trying to beat other people's scores.
The problem with this game is that it lacks A LOT of feedback. It took me a while to understand how to deliver the finished drinks, because I put all the ingredients in the kettle and nothing happened, the feeling I had was that the game had bugged or something.
After I managed to deliver the drinks, what started to happen is that SEVERAL times, even when I put in all the correct ingredients, the game would not compute my score or consider it incorrect.
I also noticed that if you place the ingredients a little further down or to the side, even if, visually, they are inside the kettle, the game considers it as if the order was wrong too.
Without feedback to know if the ingredients are all in or not, it's difficult to play.
Another thing is that the instructions were not very well transcribed, which caused that confusion at the beginning of the game in the delivery of drinks. And the credits of the author of the song covered the last part of the instructions.
The game has nice music, and the art is cute.
Overall it's a nice little game :)
Firstly, thank you for playing my game. And thank you for the awesome feedback, I just started making games and this is exactly what I need. kinda put the page together quicker than I probably should have so thats why it didn't come across very clearly. I didn't have to much time to bug test or refine gameplay so *for now* the ingredients system works using addition so that when you add certain ingredients it adds certain numbers to the variable which if that equals the randomized order number, gives you a point. This system was buggy and didn't work very well but sadly I didn't have time to fine tune it. But again thanks for playing my buggy little game and I hope you have a good rest of your day!!

Little feedback : I kinda feel that just clicking on the ingredients instead of drag & drop would help make the game a bit more nervous & fast paced.

Sorry for the confusion, I didn't spend enough time on the instructions which led to bad communication on how to play. So you have to drag ingredients into the mug and then press the red arrow button which will take you bac to the order desk scene. If you put in the correct ingredients it will add a point to your score (If the game decides to cooperate). I hope this helps and thanks for *trying* to play my buggy little game!!!
