The Art and music was awsome. And the Gameplay was cool too.

Loved the story, the graphics and the audio, but I struggled a lot to reach the end, it needs some control improvements, anyway, great work with the art!

Beautiful artwork, and great story! I'd be surprised if this game didn't get at least top 10!

Thats super kind of you :)

Amazing game. The level design is huge, I can see a lot of effort put into that. The gameplay is quite basic but the addition of new mechanics is fun and makes the game more interesting. Plus the animation is awesome so it's even more enjoyable to dash and climb. Did you code all these controls from scratch during the jam? It's very impressive to get all of them working and creating a challenge in a such a big level in just two days.

The graphics are very nice even though I would prefer more diversity across the huge level to make it more interesting and memorable. But if I add animation, it's amazing work done in 48 hours.

The soundtrack was my favorite, really liked the instrumental music (especially that pizzicato!). Changing it with every new mechanic discovery is a nice touch. It would be even more memorable and epic if the music became more intense with every change. But overall, the sound really fits with the graphics and the story creating a great intense mood. Again, really impressive for such a short period of time!

Finally, when it comes to game design, I think it's a bit too tough. You were very kind to include the checkpoint feature but it played an evil trick on me at the place where the note is in a dead-end and you need to do a lot of wall-jumps to get out. After about 30 tries to get out of there and get to another challenging note I gave up. But I'm dying to know whether there are more new mechanics after that. It's great that you posted the ending in a reply below, so at least I know how it finished. Great story-telling by the way!

Sorry for a lot of text. Just wanted to share some impressions and ideas. TLDR: amazing job on all fronts, really enjoyed it!

Thank you for this comment! :) We are very pleased! Yes, everything was made in less than 40 hours, because we were sleeping a lot (as for gamejam) :)

As the other comments have pointed out, the controls/movement speed and platform edge collision could use a bit  more tuning but other than that, you guys did a great job! Great game design and love the art style.

The movement felt a little clunky and it was easy to get caught on the side of platforms, but it's a pretty neat game with some fun movement combos to be had! Enjoyed the graphics and audio and while the player could stand out a bit more visually, the overall visual contrast of the radioative material and the rest of the world works really well imo.

The controls felt a little clunky at times, maybe a higher jump would have been nice, but the sprinting and dashing mechanics helped a lot. The visuals and mood are really nice too, but I think the character could have benefitted from standing out a little more on the background. Overall nice work!

Thank you :)

This game is great, but has some problems. I played completely through i guess? (because there was nothing after the computer) It took me quite a while to finish, because its a lot of waiting involved. I died a lot and then i had to wait for the moving platforms to come back. Sometimes you get stuck on an edge and the controls could feel a little more responsive. However i liked the Graphics, music and overall story of the game. Well done for 48 hours :).

Hey, thanks for playing I really appreciate the feedback :) sorry about the issues - yeah the computer is supposed to be the last thing

Developer(+1)

Yeah, we know about the platforms, but good design needs more time and experience, so next time we won't make the same mistakes! :)

Thanks for your comment!

I love the mood! I think I made it to the end of the game, but I think I broke something by not closing out of the text boxes. Whoops!

Really cool ideas! I love the artwork for the toxic hazards.  Super cool stuff. Nice work.

Developer(+1)

Lol, funny :D I didn't expect that anybody will not close the text boxes! Thank you for your comment :)

Developer(+1)

Hey thanks for playing all the way through :) the final text is supposed to be :

There is no time

The concept in your head is far gone

The words fled the world that couldn't be described

But now

It'll change

With a hope given by you

Ah cool. Thanks for telling me how it's supposed to end, ha! I really enjoyed the story! You set up a pretty cool setting.

Amazing level design, story and atmosphere! Had me hooked trying to find all of Doc's notes through the game! Moving around with your new-found powers was fun, and the starting frames for the run reminded me of the original Prince of Persia.

Only critique I had is I guess I expected an ending cutscene? Probably because the rest of the game was so darn good!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and for the feedback!
An ending cutscene was something we thought about at first, but due to the time constraints it couldn't, unfortunately, be done (just like the more detailed background.)  When it comes to level design - what did you think about the speed of the moving platforms? Were they alright or some of them too slow?

Submitted(+1)

The moving platforms felt a bit slow but only in the beginning when you didn't have any aerial movement options. Once you got the double jump and air-dash you could breeze through areas without worrying about the platforms too much.

Overall there weren't any other hazards than radioactive sludge that you had to avoid; I guess if enemies or traps were present then the platform speed might've been more problematic. Worked for me though and had a lot of fun timing my jumps and abilities!

Other than that on level design, some of the areas had vertical platforms that I guess were meant for you to come back to once you got the climbing ability, but I kinda ended up aiming for the little sliver of ground they had on the top because at the time I had no idea a climbing ability existed.

Once again, this was probably one of my best experiences on the game jam! Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the reply! It's interesting how you used the vertical platforms - I thought someone might use them like that but it's always great to read how the players react to different mechanics and how they tackle the levels :D I'm really glad you liked our game!

Fun platformer and good atmosphere.

Thank you! We're glad you liked it :)

Those colors are so damn good. It´s incredible how you were able to convey such a atmosphere with few colors.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I've considered adding a bit of purple here and there but in the end didn't have time to do either that or a more detailed background... Still, I'm really glad you liked it!

Graphics and music are awesome. The controls jitter sometime but it's a 48h game. I like the atmosphere. Great game.
