I really liked the idea of your game, especially that it's possible to gain momentum by alternating between Left Key and Right Key :)
Such a satisfying game. Requires getting used to, but once that's done the game becomes pretty fun
Thanks so much for playing!
This game is a blast! The leaderboard fits perfectly for this style of gameplay, it made me want to play each map several times to try and beat some scores.
Thanks for this great submission!
Thanks so much for playing!
That's a great song choice. That's a really cool song. The controls are hard to get at first but once you get used to them it's very satisfying to speed through. Great job!
Thanks so much! I'm glad you like the song choice!
Master the speed feels nice! I did way better when replaying through the levels.
Thanks for playing!
Fun speedrunning game. Controls took a bit to get used to but I got used to them at the end. Good job!
Thanks for playing!
Very fun game and the sound design is super good I had lots of fun playing. Good job! :D
Thanks so much for playing!
Super fun! A little hard to tell which way the current is going after you get ripping, but even harder to put down. Well done!
Thanks so much for playing! The physics system is definitely a bit hard to get the hang of, but hopefully I can improve it in the future.
Very cute and cool game ! Loved it, good job !
Thanks so much!
loved it, it was fun, a nice speedrun game ^^
Thanks so much!
Nice name and the slow motion and camera when reaching the crossing line is so satisfactory, I also enjoyed the sounds and ambient music. The controls are kind of difficult to use at first but then I get used to it. great job !!
Thanks so much for playing! I'm glad the finish line effects give players that satisfaction.
Really unique controls. Might be nice to give the player an overview of the map beforehand or fish road signs (current signs?) to indicate what turns are coming up ahead, but people who are serious about getting on the leaderboard would probably just memorize it anyway... it's still fun even without getting to a crazy high speed.
Thanks for the feedback! A minimap might be a good idea if I expand upon it.
Got first place after 3 tries. i don't know why but it kinda reminds me super meat boy. nice concept for a platformer i think it could really work if you can get people to master the controlls. the gravity during falling makes it really hard but also gives the satisfaction of speed if you can catch the coins.
Wow, thanks so much for the kind words! I am touched that you compared it to Super Meat Boy, which has definitely been an influence on a lot of my game design. And great work taking first place!
Cool game.
Despite the simplicity, the visuals do their job and I liked the way you taught the game's controls with only an image.
The game is really hard, but it is pleasant to master.
However I would choose a more frenetic music to fit the race aspect of your game.
Good job.
Thanks so much! I am glad you took notice of the simple controls screen :) I was hoping that the music would make it feel a little more tranquil and meditative, but your right that the gameplay might be a bit too fast-paced for it.
Love the music, the physics feel very strange. It's not my kind of game but I can see how it would take a lot of skill to get high scores.
Thanks so much for playing! I do think I still need to tinker with the physics a bit, and I understand it is definitely not a game for everybody.
The coins were satisfying to pick up, especially by the fact that they increased your speed which added a lot more skill to the game. I loved the inclusion of the leaderboard, is there an easy way of doing that in Unity? The only feedback I'd say is, I would've loved to have a way to see my ranking in the leaderboard without having to reload the page. Overall, a really fun game and I could totally see this game being worked on more in the future!
Thanks so much for the feedback! I will take a look at that leaderboard bug.
I use LootLocker's Unity API, which is pretty easy to implement! You can find details here: https://docs.lootlocker.com/the-basics/sdk
Oh woops! Sorry, I think I described it incorrectly, I didn't see a button while I was playing in between stages to see the leaderboard is what I meant. The leaderboard in the menu worked great though!
very interesting movment!
I like how slidey and "skill" based it is. Would be a heck of a game if you work on it post-jam
I had some weird collisions that took off quite a bit of time but other than that. Superb!
Thanks so much! I didn't have a ton of time for level design, so I definitely hope to make more content post jam.
