pretty cool Graphics and Audio. the cartoonish flair really made it cute while running around. As other mentioned, stacking items would made a lot of stuff easier or make the scales larger. Also i wasnt sure if i maybe overshot the target weight. Maybe add a little arrow that signals to you, that you need more (or less) would help the player while still keeping the idea. But in general cool idea and i enjoyed it :)
Thanks! I will take in consideration the arrow signal, thanks !
I really liked the atmosphere you created with the background sounds and the cozy graphics. The intro music gave me uncanny 2000's vibes, which is always appreciated.
Nice game overall!
thanks!
Great jog! I love games where you have to race after time.
Nice game. Struggled with the second puzzle. I liked the ambient noise in the background. It's a nice touch. Do the special items do anything in the end?
Thanks! Well, the special items only add points to your total score, should i add a feature to them?
You definitely could - like they change the ending, or start giving you clues or ease gameplay?
Good idea! Ill take notes.
I always enjoy a good puzzle game! Great job, really solid game! My only gripe is, as others have mentioned, that I wish I could stack items on the scale.
Thanks!
Pretty nice game. Very polished as well, I have enjoyed the experience. It was clear to me what to do right from the start.
Would appreciate if you in return found some time to play and review our game (:
Thanks!
Done, great cooking game!
Very interesting! I like the art style and the concept of the game. If the weight checking was a little bit convenient it would be better, i had a hard time putting items right on the scale XD. I think you place a trigger box up above the scale to check what objects entered the scale's range, and if those objects is not held by the player and the velocity is 0, we can basically tell that they are on the scale.
Overall I think that this tackles the jam's theme really well and quite creative! Good work!
Basically, yes! The scale has a collider and when something detects it, it counts its weight. You got good eyes haha! Thanks!
oh i was thinking of how to check the wright even if objects were put on top of each other, since currently only objects touching it will count its weught
Very neat, I made it to the third room with only 20 seconds on the clock. I also accidently bypassed the tutorial completely and discovered this when I restarted due to losing the game. I do wish stacked things would register on the scale but by making them not register you are forcing the player to experiment with different objects rather than just the act of stacking itself. Great stuff!
Thanks! Yeah... the third room is a bit too large haha. I guess i should make the tutorial button more... noticeable? And yes, making players not being able to stack items forces them to experiment with other objects. But I will try to add the stackable feature on future updates!
Honestly, it's a really fun game. I really like the idea behind it. The funny thing is it feels so friendly in atmosphere, but you're running around with stuff, desperately trying to guess at the scales with the clues it gives you, and the environment with the time limit becomes more "Trying to escape a saw trap before you're taken out." The only thing that bugged me was that you can't stack objects on top of other objects for the scale to detect. The fact that you know you can't makes some of the puzzles a little easy because you know they must be able to directly fit on the scale.
Thanks! Good that you enjoyed It :)
an interesting and fun game! i had a really great time trying it out :)
my only notes are that the objects sometimes covered the screens that displayed the weight making it hard to see. it also took me a bit to understand the objects aren't counted if stacked on top of each other, which is a bit non-intuitive. lastly, this might just be me, but i think a no-timer mode could be fun!
Thanks! Ill take that in consideration. Everyone tells me that the objects not being able to be stack-able is non intuitive. I really tried a way to implement stacking but couldn't find a way to do It as a beginner in Unity :(
no worries! it was meant to be for later learning/if you decide to work on the game further. what you got done is already really impressive!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.
Great aesthetics, but the applied blur on close objects was a bit nauseating and distracting.
Thanks! Ill take that in mind. Some people told me that it would look better like that :(
same issue here about the blur
This game is really good. The aesthetics are really nice style and the puzzles are difficult but not impossible. Great game!
Thanks!
Cool game with paster graphics. One bug I found was that the weight is not measured if I put objects on top of each other. Also, I got stuck like everyone else in the 2nd room xD
the game is cute and I think the concept is great. However, I am not liking the fact that we can't stack items to add weights. It seems like an obvious oversight when the concept is weighing objects on a scale. Everything else works great though with some minor bugs like a book clipping the table surface when dropped. (I also see two small holes in the first room -- I thought they are mouse holes at first but it may be just meshes having gaps)
Thanks! I already added to my to do list the stacking items system.
Pretty cool game with some clean art! Would've liked a tutorial or a how-to-play guide since it took me a while to figure out how to pick stuff up. Also got stuck on the 2nd room lol
uhh there is a tutorial, idk if you clicked in It 😅. Can you tell my why did you get stick on the 2nd room?
This is cool! I agree that stacking would help, but I also see that there are some puzzle elements, like if you put a box down and it falls on its side, you can then put the item on the scale and take up less room. Good job!
You did very well sticking to the theme.
Really interesting take on the theme I liked it a lot! I just wish you could stack objects on top of each other!
Funnily enough I had to disable fullscreen in the settings before being able to play fullscreen. Before that the fullscreen button would give me an error.
The game is interesting and on theme.
I did have a lot of trouble placing items on the scale as placing them on top of eachother did not seem to work, the objects had to be touching the scale itself which made it very hard.
The artstyle is very cozy and looks great
Congrats on finishing the game jame !
Thanks, NjitRam! With the scale... I tried implementing that feature, but the unity's collision system couldn't handle more than 2 objects on top of an object that is on top of the scale.
