This is quite an intriguing project! I can see that a lot of time was spent on polishing—it runs flawlessly, and all systems, including the interface, are implemented really well. However, I also noticed some issues in the game design. The most obvious example is that the battles feel too drawn-out and repetitive. Typically, this genre thrives on encounters with many enemies, but here you face just one with a massive health pool and a single attack pattern. If you plan to expand the project, this is something worth addressing.
That said, the quality of execution is impressive, especially given the limited time. The visuals, sounds, and music feel perfectly balanced, which is commendable. Great work!
I am really grateful to you for such a great feedback, I was planning to implement various boss patterns, but as I had to code them all and time constraints, I left it for the future, by the way this was a prototype to test the idea, I think working on this game can be beneficial
I will be checking and rating your game as soon as possible
Nice game in a classic genre, quite fun to play.
Thanks for the feedback
Very nice game! the first shot gets out with a delay though. Fun!!!
Thanks for the feedback
Cool take on a classic genre. I got confused and pressed WASD to move (instead of arrows) and got stuck in some select screen? I really like how well rounded it is for a jam submission -art and sound work well together and even a shop to customize :)
If I had to nickpick:
- It is a bit too much energy on the enemies making the combat feel dragged out for no reason. It slows down the game and is more of an exercise to keep focused rather than react quickly
- The the slight rotation of the enemy ships is probably well intended but feels a bit off and confusing.
Overall solid submission :) Enjoyed it
Thanks, I really appreciated you feedback.
I think which the scores increase over time accounting for most is not good. The sound is too loud.
The enemy has a lot of health and a single attack method, which makes it feel too repetitive.
Thanks for the feedback, I will try to make the fix
Great gameplay! simple idea but well executed!
Thanks
Short but sweet game! The audio is very nice and I love the customization options for this game. Not only with the ships but also with the laser. Great style and sense of direction.
I have small technical issues with the window on my monitor and I could not figure out how to select the lasers for some time. It would have been great if the enemies had a little more variety and if I could see my high score. I know it was 18048 something, but it quickly disappeared from my screen.
Keep up the good work and good luck with this game jam.
Really thankful for the review.
Alright, that's a pretty simple game, but surprisingly addictive! Great job on sound+visuals, the game just oozes with style. The difficulty curve was good, and despite how the bosses don't have much complex behavior behind them, I found myself developing little strategies on how to best increase damage output and take less damage.
I had a lot of technical issues trying to play it though (game not fitting on a 1920x1080 monitor, fullscreen not adjusting resolution/not centering, couldn't find how to escape laser selection menu, game not closing from Alt+F4, resize ability did not appear to work).
There is a little X to exit the selection menu, I think the Fullscreen didn't worked on different monitors, use esc to exit the game,
Thanks for the feedback
Pretty simple and a bit catchy, but not my genre :) .Don't really get into vertical movement and different ship stats, as they all play the same. aaaaaand ill divide all healthbars by 2 and multiply boss numbers
Thanks for the feedback
Really fun simple concept that plays well. The powerups are well thought out and while the gameplay seems simple at first blush it has a surprising difficulty underneath it. I'd have liked if the enemies had a little more variety in their shots maybe. But overall this was a competent start to a bullet hell game. The sound was nice and readable and the multiple ship types available was a nice touch you don't see that level of customization in a game jam often.
Really thankful for the feedback
Oh man, I was hoping someone would make one of these types of games. I love how customizable you made everything, even unique ship assets. The shield from level 3 is a little overpowered haha and the control scheme took a second for me to spider my hand into position, but this is more than competently made. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the positive feedback
Cool game! I love the cards with the ship selection in the beginning. I love love the animation in the main menu, it gave the game a little bit more life. The sound design is satisfying as well.
The boss ships are also quite cool. I would have liked there to be difference between the different bosses other than sprite and bullet color. I loved the shield and felt pretty invincible when using it.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the positive feedback
Nice little game.
I thought the audio (music and sfx) went well with the graphics design and the gameplay was fun.
Something I noticed was that after defeating the first boss and you die you are stucked in the endless space on your own :(
The powerups were cool but they didn't give me a sense of a secret.
I also got a little bit lost on how to close the laser selection window but I found the X,
But all in all a good concept :)
Thanks for the feedback..
Fun little interesting game, would be cool to see more and also when selecting lasers I had a hard time seeing the X button on the window to leave that selection, I liked the shield effects as well.
Thanks for the feedback.
Fun game! The bosses were very challenging, but it was satisfying to beat them.
Really thankful for the feedback.
