I'm sorry but every time I open this I get the start screen I hit start/play, I hear a little music and then it shuts down.

Developer

Thank you for your comment.  We apologize.  It works well for us, so we didn't see the problem.  Please, can you tell us exactly when it shuts down?  After the intro or before?  Thank you.

Fixed and lesson learnt, don't download many UE5 games to the same folder.
Beautiful game and enjoyed the puzzles :)

cheers

Excellent work. I can tell a lot of love was put into this entry.

Developer

Thank you very much!  We worked very hard on it.

Amazing entry, really enjoyed playing but I found a few bugs that made me start the whole game over.

On the second level I bumped into the first mirror pushing it too far and was unable to move it back, also on the same level I fell off the edge and got stuck between two rocks and was unable to restart the level.

Other then that, really solid entry. Great work

Developer

Thank you very much for your commend!

We really tried to "close" all the gabs in the second map,  we will look into it and try to solve it.  We also will look in the mirror problem.  Thank you for pointing that out!

I was surprised that it has voice acting. The music is 10. The visuals are pretty good too. The area I liked the most was the cemetery. The order of the plates at the beginning seemed a bit confusing, maybe some sound indicator would help to determine the order.

I liked the way you have implemented the gamejam theme.

Developer

Thank you!  Yes, the voices and the music are original!  We are very glad you liked it!

Yes, the plates have to be pressed with order.  There are a number of lamps around them that mark the order, but you are right, it is confusing.  We will work on making a better feedback for the player!

Thank you for your comment!

Just completed your game.  Love the level graphics and it's so well made, especially the starting area. However, I think one thing that concerns me is the interact issue.

Developer

Thank you for your comment!

When you say interact issue, are you talking about the player feedback, the interaction bots/player o the puzzles themselves?  Please, could you give us some more details?  We want to improve the game after the jam, and any suggestion/problem you spot, will help us to do it.  Thank you!

The interact issue that I mentioned is something like light up the candle and taking the jewel (the one that you use to break the wall). For example, I had a bit of difficulty to light up the candle as it seems that you can only light it from a certain angle instead of getting near the candle.

Developer

Thank you very much for your answer!  We will look into it.

Really great entry! I was really impressed right from the start. The accessibility available in the menus is wonderful. The music and sound are on point. I also liked how the ai was able to run around and jump the platforms, but I wasn't sure what the ai was there for. The third pressure plate I found did not work either. The only other thing I would say is that the animations didn't blend well, but if the character were oriented toward their movement direction and always ran forward that would work well here. I was really impressed by the glow effects as well. This is a project I will definitely be downloading to take a look at! I'll try to play through again in the editor and see if I can finish the story. Thanks a ton for submitting this masterpiece! Bravo!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for your comment!

Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time (and recurses) to make a better blendtree of animations.  Mixamo has a lot of animations, but not the ones we needed, and didn't have time to do them ourselves.  We will try to improve them once the jam finishes.

The plates have to be activated in a determinate order.  We know we have to improve the feedback to the player, and we will work on it.

Thank you again for your comment.  It helps us a great deal to know where we have to improve.

Really pleasing aesthetics and graphics. Music is also very soothing. Found the gameplay quite confusing though, as the terrain can be hard to traverse. Overall though a very solid entry.

Developer

Thank you very much! the next time we will be more careful about map size :D! THank you for playing it!

nice one!

Thank you :D!!

An amazing game, really well put together.. got a little stuck on the graveyard area but eventually worked out what to do.

Fantastic nothing I didn't like.

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! Yeah, the graveyard part is the most annoying one. sorry about that! In any case, thank you for playing it!

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

I played your game for a while, but I really could not figure out where to go.
The art is awesome and the animations are very fluid.

But I think some hinting as to where to go would go a long way.

Also, the sound effect of walking on grass gets annoying after a while.

Developer

Thank you very much for the feedback!

Yeah, this time we missed some System to notify you maybe some hint or some notification to what you are doing wrong. We apologize for it. In case, at the beginning of any area, there is a Sigh with some "instruction/hint" to help you :D.

Anyway, thank you for git it a try!

woha, what a sad and beautiful world. i mean, nanni died, did she not? I was hoping to see a lot of fantastical version of what the afterlife might look like when I saw the jam's theme - but you were the first to really blow me away in that regard. hopefully I don't misunderstand your concept entirely (*monkeyhidinghisface*)

unfortunately I think there were some problems with the pressure plates and I couldn't progress (the one you can jump down to at the beginning didn't react), but the short stroll through this world was already worth it!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you very much! Yeah, you are quite correct :D

For the pressure plate at the first island sorry, we missed some indication there, you had to go on them in order based on how many lanterns they had in front. I supposed you go straight down at the beginning and you encountered the last one (with 4 lanterns) :D. Anyway sorry about it, next time we will implement a better system to show you that you missed something else :).

Thank you for git it a try! In case you can retry it and continue, so you can enjoin the full story and reach the ending "scene"! Thank you again for playing it!

Wow this game is really well done!

The map is awesome, I loved the art style, the atmosphere, the music. My only comment is that there is not enough variety of props, so you can get lost easily. But, I mean, 10 days, wow! That's a lot of work!

I really enjoyed this, one of the best games of the jam!

And finally,

ma che siete italiani? La tizia é doppiata in italiano. Grandi!

Developer

Thank you so much for have played the game and... Si siamo un piccolo team Italiano!

Submitted (1 edit) (+3)

Grandissimi! Siamo in pochi in italia con questa passione, ma buoni evidentemente :)

Submitted(+2)

I loved the atmosphere / visuals of the game, the voice acting is on point, I feel like you need to work a little bit on the graveyard puzzle, as that level took the longest to complete. Maybe queue in some hints through voice lines? I also liked the story, especially the ending. It caught me off guard and was a nice touch :) Very well done!

Developer

Thank you very much! I agree with your comment on the graveyard part, the next time we will be more careful on how to set up the level.

Thank you also for finishing the game and seeing (hearing) the final cutscene! :D

Nice intro to set up an inital mood and theme for the game.

Nice aesthetics and environment setup, adds to the overal exploring mood of the game.

The falling animation of the character looks awesome.

It's kinda slow to move to different areas - gets especially tedious when you move to a location in a different order than you were supposed to.

It was hard for me to identify what the other characters do - some kill you? - others ignore you?.

I like that you put billboards with instructions to read at your own pace while running around.

It's nice that you put lights or colors or other indicators at objectives to mark that they were important. I feel you can exaggerate these effects - especially for the gates. Since I sometimes at a hard time finding them.

UI-animations in start-menu can be snappier with increased speed of the transition animations. Note: Also when the button slide out, they are still active so you can activate multiple buttons at once.

You guys made a lot of content for the game. Nice work, you guys should be proud!

Well done for creating and submitting a game!

Developer

Thank you very much for the kind words! We appreciate it!

Yeah, I agree it could be tedious, the next time we will think better about the task for the areas.

For the UI menu, you are absolutely right, it is one of the less effective parts. To be honest, at the start I thought it could be a good idea to experiment with UI-Animation, but are you pointed out it didn't perform as expected :D. It is more difficult than expected.

In any case, thank you for the feedback and especially for playing the game!

Great visual, the level design is incredible. It lagged a bit on my side, think my pc is a bit small so I missed out on the true experience. Great game.

Developer

Thank you very much! Yeah, I think we have put low effort into optimization, we apologize for it! Thank you for Playing in any case!

Great graphics. It's games like this that makes me excited to give unreal a try in the future. The world was nice and fun to explore. The controls felt good, although there wasn't anything original or unique about the way in which your character moves about.

It was an awesome experience, especially for something one in only 10 days. The best part for me was making the woman who kills you fall off the edge lol

The only part I scored lower was "Theme" as it felt shoe horned in, rather than something the game created around.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for your feedback!  We appreciate it!

For the theme in reality you have to finish the game to understand it, it is a story of rebirth, the death is the beginning of the journey through many challenges to take you to the end and to make you deserve it. In any case, maybe we needed to me it more clear, I thought it to be as interpretable as possible to not say too much but not say too few.

Anyway, thank you for pointing it out and especially thank you for playing it!

Hey there, very nice looking game and it felt great. Was interesting to explore and solve puzzles. The motion blur on the camera moving was a little tough on my eyes, but maybe that's just part of getting old :)

Developer

Thank you for playing the game! We are sorry for the motion blur, we have disabled it in the patch we have just posted!
