Wow!! Real nice game
Thanks a lot! :D
Did a very good job of being both sad and happy, well done.
Thank you, happy to know you enjoyed the game! :)
Cute, altough, poor cat. Or happy cat.. Dunno
Thank you x)
Lovely!
The artwork was beautifully done and it has many well placed music tracks.
A few of the gameplay parts took a few tries to figure out. The seagull chase was the hardest! First time I thought the player's supposed to run back to the dog (maybe hinted by the cat looking to the left during the cutscene?), and during the chase boxes were quite hard to break because of short attack range and the fact their colliders stay for a bit after impact.
But still, the variety of situations is worth noting! In every single one, the player must find the catch.
Nitpick: Speech box sound VERY loud and text appeared a bit too slowly, text itself feels too small (might be because i was running it in the embed, but it also had a much smaller pixel size than everything else)
Thank you so much!
The cat was supposed to look to the left because the bird had to come from the left but we just noticed it spawns on top of you so we'll make sure to make it spawn from the correct spot ASAP!
The boxes are definitely the biggest challenge but we left them like that because once you break them they won't respawn, making the run easier on your second try. The only boxes that respawn during the chase are the ones needed for the big jump.
We'll work on the audio and the text is definitely something that has been pointed out to us already and we'll make it bigger in a future update!
Really cute character design, art and nice colour palette. Short and sweet game.
Thanks a lot, glad to know it was to your liking! :)
nice game the art and sound go well together!
Thank you! :D
Very nice - good ending and great art!
Thank you and nice job reaching the ending! :D
Very beautiful art. Love the comedic contrast between the cute feel and the sudden menacing birds and dogs. The twists and turns are really fun to experience!
The movement and the level design needs some refinement. But overall, the game is beautiful and the twists is really cool. The story feels a little rushed it ended quite abruptly but great job! Very impressive that you managed to do all the art in 10 days!
Thank you, we tried to make the game as unpredictable as possible in order to keep the comedic feel throughout its entierty. :)
We had originally planned more scenes for the game but due to time restrictions we had to cut some of them in order to still provide an ending instead of dropping off in the middle of the story.
Happy to read you appreciated the art so much, we made sure to put a lot of care in each pixel even if it costed us a bit of sleep haha
amazing arts, it was fun to play. also game design was cleverly. thanks for the game.
We're glad you enjoyed both the aesthetics and the gameplay! Thanks for playing! :D
Gorgeous art and a cute kitty. Loved playing.
Thank you for your kind words! <3
What a beautiful game. The art is fantastic. I also like the sound effects. Reminds me of the classic adventure games. I don't think I'd survive as a cat, sadly :(
Thank you so so much! <3
Cat life in the outdoors can be quite perilous indeed haha
so adorable yet quite unforgiving :D
Hahaha yes, the cute cat has to be veeery careful x)
I am fascinated about how well a cat and its nine lives fits the theme, so simple, yet unexpected. Also, the design is gorgeous, both in terms of asset design, and animations! I'm not much for platformers, so I didn't get too far into the game because of it (sorry!).
Thank you for appreciating the game so much, it makes us very happy <3
We're sorry you didn't get to experience the ending but thank you for trying it out anyway!
I loved the aesthetics! This was a lot of fun, although I struggled a bit with the second seagull. That said I'm not very experienced with playing platformer/side scroller games. Overall this was a great game :) well done!
Thank you, we're happy to read you had fun with our game! It is designed to be a bit challenging so your experience is totally fair even if you are not a platformer expert ^^
Thanks for playing! <3
Nice Pixelart ! I like the Meow button. The ending is a bit sad
Thank you! Glad you found meowing around to be fun :D
The ending can be a bit bittersweet, but we tried to make it as cheerful and fun as possible with the jam's theme in mind x)
This is an incredibly cute entry! I really like the theme of the cat and her nine lives, as well as your idea of "curiosity killed the cat". Thae game has really cute aesthetics and a game story.
There were parts that i struggled with, though. For example, I had a really tough time with the first seagull. During my first playthrough I encountered the bug someone described below with the seagull being frozen in attack pose but thought that it was part of the game, a time loop sort of situation. It's only after a few attempts that i tried to look in the comments to see how to progress and realized it was a bug. After that I tried all the interactions I could do near the seagull, but really couldn't figure out what to do. During one of my runs I noticed that it flew away after a while. It's only on the next run that I figured out that this happens if i meow at it repeatedly. My suggestion would be to onboard this a bit more, or perhaps start with something that requires a single interaction to pass through.
There also seems to be a bug with the game not entering the game over state sometimes when my cat falls into the hall
However, I like the range of interactions you can do. And also the interactions themselves - I love that I can meow and claw at things :D The sound design is also great, I in particular laughed out when I first that second evil seagull for the first time. This game feels like a lot of passion and love went into its making, so great job and congrats on making it!
Thank you very much, we're happy that you enjoyed the game in all its aspects!
We've looked into the bugs you listed and managed to fix all of them (your comment was very insightful)! There were some things that ended up being modified as we had fixed other aspects of the game and it messed up some mechanics. Now we applied the fixes and tested every single seagull interaction/death and hole!
It means a lot that you could feel the passion that went into the game's making and we thank you again for your compliments. <3
What an amazing little game, so far the best I've played
Thank you, this is a big compliment, we're happy it left such a good impression on you!
Great game! Really like the art
Thank you so much!!
So polished and cute! Simple and effective story. Sprite work is fantastic and I appreciate the use of parallax. Purr-fect game!
We're happy to hear such a paw-sitive response to our little game! Thank you so much! :3
I love the pixel art!
It's a personal goal of mine to also develop my own art skills to this level where I can create equally detailed sprites!
Also love the idea of playing as a cat!
I swear, the industry needs more cat games!
Please consider also playing my game when you have a moment to spare and leaving a rating or review.
I would love to have the opportunity to learn and grow from you feedback!
Hello, it brings us a lot of joy to know our game inspired you so much. As long as you keep yourself curious, experimental and observant (care for detail without rushing is very important) you will see your art grow constantly!
We're glad you liked the cat protagonist! Cats are pretty neat indeed! ;)
We'll be happy to try your game as well!
