A really theme related mechanic implemented with nice graphics and music. All wrapped in good puzzles makes for a great entry! Congrats!

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! :)

good looking character and nice mechanics.

Nice puzzle platformer. I do feel the colliders on some of the hazards are a bit big making it feel unfair at times. But a great game non the less

Developer

It's strange of you to say that, the colliders are almost pixel perfect to the sprites. Did you play it on 1920x1080? Anyway, thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate it! I will make sure, to remember this, when working on future projects! :)

Submitted(+1)

What I tend to do is make the collider of the player/hazards/enemy a bit smaller than the sprites. This gives the player the impression they did better at dodging/avoiding the enemies/hazards. Players want the game to feel fair, but that doesn't mean it actually is

Developer

Good point, thank you! :)

Really fun puzzle game, love how you used the theme of the jam a mechanic to solve the puzzles

Great theme adaptation. It was fun and it was difficult too. I liked there were a lot of levels!

Played and rated. Great little game!

Had lots of fun challenging myself to beat the levels. The tombstone mechanic is very well thought of, it's instant and we have to properly use it to beat the level, the theme is portrayed well.

I found the level with many lasers pretty hard to beat! Overall great work for this gamejam :)

Would appreciate if you check out and rate our game as well: https://hadilepanda.itch.io/rise-of-necromancy

Awesome mechanics! Very intuitive and introduced very well and fits really well with the theme. The way my game went it was as if Gus was trying his darndest to get into the afterlife and I was tasked with stopping him from doing so until the time was right so I could complete the puzzle ahaha!

The game seems fun, but for the life of me I couldn't get past level 3.

When alive the dude can't jump high enough to reach the door after pushing the button at the bottom, the ghost form just falls through the boxes so I can't reach the door from the left side, and the tombstone will always spawn at the spikes on the bottom, so it can't be used as a stepping platform to reach the door!

I got stuck at that and after 10+ different tries I gave up. It would be nice to have some sort of hint in the level to help the player solve the puzzle if they keep dying with no progress.

I see all the screenshots and the comments other people have left and I feel I'm missing out on a lot of fun in this game. :(

Submitted(+1)

OK, turns out the horizontal speed of the character is slower when not in full screen mode. THATS WHY I COULDNT REACH THE DOOR.

Well, there's a bug report for you to look into when you have time. :)

Developer

I'm sorry to hear about your inconvenience and thank you for reporting it. However, I do not know what causes the issue, because on my machine is perfectly fine. I'm just theorizing, but could it be that you play on different resolution (mine is 1920x1080)? I cannot think about anything else. Anyway, thank you for your feedback, you made a really good point with the hints! I hope you enjoyed it after you discovered the solution for your problem! :)

Submitted(+1)

Yes, it's an ultrawide monitor at 3440x1440. I guess that's causing the horizontal speed difference. Funny that it only happens in the embedded browser mode but it's fine in fullscreen. I would expect it to break on fullscreen due to the extra wide aspect ratio. Hmm... anyways, good game!

Really nice job on the puzzles. The platforming elements were juuuust frustrating enough without making me mad haha. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

This was awesome! I loved the mechanics, and the puzzles are well put together. Difficulty ramped up nicely without feeling cheap. Awesome game!

Developer

Thank you, I appreciate it! :)

Great puzzle platformer! Really pushed you to think a bit on each level. Didn't run into any bugs or any issues, perhaps a menu screen would be a good addition, but all in all a really good complete submission. Great job!

Developer

Yeah, I was kind of lazy on that one, but I wanted to focus on gameplay and mechanics, so I cut everything else. Thank you for your feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

Submitted(+1)

Loved this game, it was really fun to play! I found it a little bit difficult but I didn't mind as it made me want to beat the levels even more. Well done!

Developer

I'm super excited to hear this and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for your feedback! :)

Great game but too difficult for me. I could not beat the level with those tons of lazers.  I like the concept of dying to leave behind a platform/grave. I also have very similar mechanic in my game. Overall great job.

Developer

Yeah, I think you are referring to the last level. I wanted to make it special, but I know it could have used some more polishing. Thank you for your feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

Submitted(+1)

Great game! Love the concept and it's very well-executed! Great Job!

I'm really surprised to see a game like this in a game jam! everything is great I can't  mention just a point or two! well done, I think it's actually ready for released! 5*

Developer(+1)

Thank you, I appreciate it! :) But, I really think it's not that great. I did not have too much time, so I had to discard a lot of ideas :(

Submitted(+1)

Hey!

Awesome game. I had a lot of fun dying and trying to solve the puzzles! nice little switch on the buttons too :P From going from a click on to stay on to a must STAY on. Unless that was a bug? lol

But I enjoyed it! :D

Can you vote on my game too please? :)

Developer(+1)

Hey!

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! :) It's not a bug! Try using your gravestone ;)

Love the execution of the idea. Fun and simple. Congrats on submitting :)

Developer

Thank you! I tried my best :)

Congrats on submitting!

Liked the mechanics of using old body to solve puzzles.

Developer

Thank you! I had fun making it :)

Good idea. Love the R option to reset the game. Great graphic. Love the effects such as the smoke and the floating particles.

Developer

Thank you! Well, the sprites are not my own, so I tried to leave a little personal touch with the particles. :) Yes, without resetting it would be a pain :D
