Decent Visuals

*joke* (They are great)

Nice game and vibes, I liked much the art. I felt like the rotation is quick fast so I can easily die which is something may not be preferred for such one like a player but anyway this is a nice game and liked it.

Great game.Rated it.

Great game! The steering felt great, when I first read the controls I felt a bit confused on how it would work, but as soon as I started playing it felt natural right away. W to Win was a great hint!

Really love the aesthetics too, made me want to play "just one more time!".

Super nice submission!

Developer

Thanks! I noticed that when my friends streamed their playthroughs the would sort of roll over jumps and go headfirst and I realised that the difference was that I held down W most of the time. Im really looking forward to turning it into a full game!

cool game well done bro👍🔥

Thanks!

Huh, it's good take on classics. Somehow I completed game in just third run. And of course cool overall mood.

Aesthetics and music get a 5/5 from me, they fit so well together. Quite challenging to reach the end, that's for sure, apparently i was really close, at about 560?

Also, adding purposeful traps on landing points requires a certain level of evil, but i appreciate it lol.

Developer(+1)

haha the hard version had a lot more of those but the idea behind that was so that the player starts to learn the level and uses their past experience to preemptively adjust their position because they know whats coming. Thanks for checking it out :)

I see that the Game is Working, the Visuals are nice  BUT I realy dislike those games so much (because! I am to stupid to get through even 100m there) my best was ... 70?   I suck so horrible at this kinda games - BUT I can see what yu made - its great - congrats to "remake" such a classic ! It feels  controllable :D WELL DONE!

that sent me way back when those bike flash games were popular. amazing look and tight controls, what's not to love. Great job!

Developer

Thanks im glad you enjoyed it :)

Submitted(+1)

Really good aesthetics. I liked these games when I was a kid, 540.9 meters was my best.

Developer

ooo so close the ending is about 600ish. Thanks for playing :)

Very nice aesthetics, I loved the big moon in the background! It plays very smoothly with a gamepad (although every restart I had to use the mouse to click the new journey button.) I made it to 314.something after a lot of tries, then couldn't get past 200 for a while, then I made it all the way to... 314.something again! So I think that's as far as my mountain biking can take me at this time.

I saw your youtube video of the full route, I don't think I'd be able to see the ending otherwise. :)

Developer(+1)

thanks for playing and trying to get to the end; I will be making some changes to try and make the controls a little bit smoother also thank you so much for checking out the ending; I wanted it to be meaningful so people that might get a bit stressed from the challenge feel rewarded in the end for their determination, in future I may also consider adding a checkpoint system so that the player doesn’t have to start from the beginning but I’m unsure of that as it will mean the distance tracker will need to be removed. I’m going to spend the next 3-6 months working on this game :)

Submitted(+1)

You should be able to set the distance even with a checkpoint system, if that's what would hold it back otherwise. For example if you put a checkpoint at 200 metres, then you can start the distance tracker at 200 instead of 0.

I think the controls are plenty smooth as they are, actually! It's a difficult course to ride but I never felt like it was unfair or that the controls were the problem, I always felt it was a skill issue on my part when I had a crash. :)

Developer(+1)

you make a good point ill test that out it could be a lot more forgiving, I guess I could always have a ‘hardcore’ mode where it just takes away the checkpoints. Good advice!. I think in terms of level design I might try take away some of the hard hitting bumps that tend to throw the player into a spin. A lot of the mechanics, suspension and even the rider are left up to chance by the physics system, there’s no actual animation in the game it’s all done using rigidbodies and hinge/spring/wheel joints.

Excellent game, very chill for this kind of game!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game. Great decision to not have the biker's head falls off and spurts blood everywhere.

Submitted(+1)

Very cool graphics and music! I'm still not used to the controls but I like how the bike and rider falls to the ground in a realistic fashion. Great submission!

Submitted(+1)

Really nicely done. It reminds me of those old trails games. I c ouldn't get too far into the game. I think I only got to 170 :O

Man - I really loved the sleepy vibes in this game. I personally would have liked accelerated tied to a different hand so that I could use one hand for rotation and another for speed, but I loved how it plays and feels. I think some SFX might improve things a bit but obviously you would want to be careful with that so as to maintain your aesthetic. Awesome work, I really liked the way your parallax looked and your overall scene composition!

Developer(+1)

Thanks I was trying to make the game something you could just listen to music and play through and zone out, I actually played it myself a few times to take breaks from reviewing lol. Eventually I’d love to add Spotify integration somehow so people can listen to their own music while playing. I’m thinking if I add controller support I’ll make forward a button and have rotation on Dpad.

Submitted(+1)

that sounds awesome.  I really love the vibe. If you included your planned features, a persistent skill tree, and randomized levels I'd pay for this experience

Developer(+1)

because I’m only fairly new to game development I’m still learning what I can and can’t do with unity so I have huge ideas but sometimes I don’t know if they will pan out until I’ve learned and tried and learnt again lol. I definitely have a plan to make many more levels and try to have a bike customiser that lets you change some colours and things like wheel grip, power and weight. I’m not entirely sure I’ll be able to work out procedurally generation for levels due to the way the background art needs to be placed but I’m ok with handcrafting the levels. I figure I’ll try and adopt a crowdfund system where I create like 10 new levels for every funding milestone I reach or something like that. Something I want to do is make the environment more interactive so instead of hills I have things like logs that act as Ramps or angled rocks and boulders. I’m very excited haha

Submitted(+1)

Felt really good once I got the hang of it!  I think my best score was just a hair under 300m :)

Developer(+1)

I did notice around 300 seems to have a bit of a tricky spot that I wish I’d smoothed over a bit, the ending is around 600m I might have to upload a video so people can see the ending.

Reminds me of the old excitebike game, love it! Wonderful graphics

Submitted(+1)

Fun game, reminds me of the flash games from the early 2000s. Lovely visuals, lighting, and music. Keep up the good work!

Submitted(+1)

Hill climb racing:D really cool. The game looks fantastic. You have to get used to the controls. The keys A and D are a bit tricky, maybe you could give some feedback to the player via a sound here. I'm curious to see what else you make out of it. A great job.
