Found them all haha, the music was intense tho
Thanks for playing, congrats on finding them all! I'll keep working on my music choices XD
This was really cool, I spent way more time on it than I expected and had fun! Enjoyed the level art and the music, waterfall was really cool. I found I spent most of my time up in the air circling around like a helicopter, I wonder if it wouldn't be a more immersive experience if you were forced to navigate at ground level, like a maze? Also I got a little confused about which shells I'd already found, would've liked a more obvious indicator as with the bubbles from the lobsters. Overall, a nice little world to spend time in! Thanks for making it.
Thanks so much, that's great to hear! I like the idea about it being at ground level, that would definitely give you a different perspective, worth looking into! I agree about making the shells more obvious. I think it would be good to have the shells just disappear, as if you "collected" them. Thanks a lot!
Ha, sneaky crabs! very enjoyable! loved the spooky atmosphere on level 2 - but the waterfall effect on level 3 was the standout.
Yay thanks so much! I wanted to show off I had some beginner shader skillz :P Definitely working on improving them in the future!
I really enjoyed just chilling and looking for all the shells and crabs!
Thanks for playing! That was really the vibe I was going for, so I'm glad to hear it! :D
Loved the cozy environment!! I could just chill there for awhile!
Good stuff!!
Thanks so much! That's definitely what I was hoping for!
What a nice cozy game! You got me on the placement one particular crab :)
hey thanks for playing! I tried to hide the crabs in reasonable places, but there’s always a couple cheeky crabs that don’t play by the rules :)
I thoroughly enjoyed this one, well done! Here's some of what I liked the most:
There were a couple of very minor things I think might have helped:
In summary, great work!
Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it! I'm glad you liked the music! Since there's not a lot of action going on I thought it would be really important to find some songs to set the tone. "Relaxing yet eerie", I'll go with that :)
I didn't catch that about the mouse input, thanks for letting me know. I only tested it on one monitor, just completely slipped my mind odd things might happen on two! I agree about the interpolation, some of my friends were saying it was a little rough too. Good areas to improve on for sure!
The music was really calming. I was expecting for the crabs and shells to disappear, but I realized they changed color haha. The sounds and music was definitely what stood out to me the most though. Great job.
Thanks so much for the kind words! Even though I didn't make the music, I wanted to be pretty intentional about what tracks I wanted to pick (it was fun finding them!). Since there's not a lot of action going on, I think the music is important in these kinds of game to set the tone. I was hoping people would find it calming so that's awesome to hear! :)
I liked the visuals of the game and the concept. Looking for hidden crabs was fun, especially with the color camouflage.
Initially I had hoped that the crabs disappear on being found, but I realized that there was visual indicator showing that they have been clicked before (bubble stream), so that's cool. Wish there was some visual fx for the shells too to prevent me from confusing them with unfound ones.
Not sure if this was intended, but i was able to "fly" by pressing space multiple times!
Overall the setting feels it would be cool in a full game; an island/pirate themed game
Thanks for playing! Yes it's perfectly fine to fly around, I intended the player to be this disembodied camera that can move all over the level to look for the hidden objects. I agree about improving the visual effects for the found shells, once I got it working I had to move on without too much testing, but I'll keep that in mind! This would be a fun pirate themed game! I would probably flesh out the story some more and make it more engaging, but it's a good idea!
This was very really fun - I enjoyed the challenge of finding and flying around the island once I got the controls right :) Good job!
Awesome, thanks for playing! I'm hoping that the controls will be flexible enough for most people, I know it's hard to get used to new controls all of a sudden when you start playing a jam game!
Nice entry, the islands look beautiful. I would prefer if crabs and shells disappear after clicking on them. I kept on trying to click on the same ones. XD
Thanks so much, the islands were really fun to put together! That's true about the things staying after you click them. I tried to give some visual cues to the player that the crabs and shells had been clicked, but I could have been clearer about it. Playtesting is important! thanks for playing!
Wow, 3 beautiful levels! Nice work! The music fit really well, and bonus points for the cute crabs :)
Thank you so much! Making three 3d levels (in a week no less) was a first for me, and it was a lot of work but still really fun! The crabs were fun to make :)
sneaky crab and shell locations. I like it :) the art the music the camera movement mechanic is well done.
Thanks for playing! It gets hard to place everything once the levels start to fill up! Definitely an area for more fine tuning :) I've done more 2d games in the past so getting the camera to work the way I wanted was a challenge!
I ended up with 1 and 1 after the three zones.
Nice job.
Cheers! Your entry last year was a lot of fun, looking forward to playing your new one soon!
Loved it! Interesting places those sneaky crustaceans are able to get to!
Thanks so much! Putting these scenes together really gives you an appreciation for the work it takes to hide objects in interesting places!
