Gretat art and sounds giving an atmospheric game

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I was lucky to have found art that matched so well.  The artists are all credited in the description above if you see any of the art you want to use in future projects yourself :) Thanks again!

Very fun and engaging game. I liked the way it was presented, the script was well written, and the sound effects and graphics really added to the spookiness! The back button was appreciated too! Well done on your submission.

Developer

Thank you so much !  I appreciate you and your feedback.  Isn't that back and skip button great?! I can't read a novel without one lol Thank you again!

Superbly put together, the UI and art is excellent with a well written script. Reminds of the 'choose your adventure' books from when i was a boy (which is a fair time ago now :D). Well done!

Developer

I love those books when I was younger too!! It was one reasons visual novels appealed to me so much.  I'm glad you enjoyed the story! Thanks for reading it.

Well done game, congrats. We survived!

Developer(+1)

Congratulations on surviving! whoohoo! Thanks for playing

Really liked the story, progression of it and the descriptive, engaging writing especially on how the characters were feeling. Very nice job especially for first game as well, this is excellent.

Developer

Thank you so much for your feedback and I am so glad you enjoyed the story! :D

What a nice, well-written story. The sound and visuals instantly  set the stage for the adventure.

Developer

Thank you so much.  I went to college for creative writing and finally think I found my niche.  So, it's nice to hear that after two decades of sitting on this degree maybe I did. Thank you so much. :)

I really love this kind of games. I died too soon I guess about 2-3 minutes. Glowing eye creature killed me :) Atmosphere, musics and story... Good job!

Developer(+1)

thank you so much and oh no! lol keep going, 5 endings in total. lol :D But for reals, thank you so much I appreciate you playing!

Submitted(+1)

You did a fantastic job! Especially with the different endings of a complete story, all in such a short time. Also, I really liked the atmosphere! Keep up the good work!

Developer

Thank you so much! I appreciate your feedback. :)

Love the blood curdling scream! Cool little intro to the witch, too-- puff of vapors.

Developer

I thought I'd done a cool thing there lol my brother and husband laughed a little at it XD but thank you for being team Teharra! LOL And that scream is an amazing sound effect right?! Thank you again!

Very nice! I liked the audio parts and the storytelling.

Developer

Cool to see another game with story. I survived my first try, I'll come back later for different endings :)

Developer

I love story games and visual novels of all sorts! I think it's my niche of what I'd like to create for the most part. Thank you for enjoying it and definitely play them all for sure! 5 endings in total. :)

mine has some witty dialogue (at least I hope so), maybe you'd like it ;)

Developer(+1)

Omgosh I was laughing LOL so yes, I did like it.  Favorite dialogue was "You crazy birch!" LOL That one got me.  You're doing great! I like my games relatable and the way people talk so I appreciated your story a lot  :D I will play more when or if more is added.

I love the ambiance and art! Great job!

Developer

Thank you! All the credits for their artists are in the description for you to use too if you want (on free projects) and I loved finding and putting them all together! It was so much fun!

Submitted(+1)

I loved your game, the graphic art and music are so compatible and pleasant! and I also love story based games :)

Developer

Thank you so much!  I had a lot of fun gathering the assets and allowing them to come alive through my story.  When I thought about even starting this journey I knew I wanted to begin with story games/visual novels. I think I may have found my niche. :)

Great job! Completing a fully-playable game in this time frame is a huge accomplishment. I hope you'll keep polishing your craft!

Developer

I plan to, thank you so much! I have a grand idea for a large and indepth story game and I thought Jams would help me practice.  So, I joined and I am not looking back! lol This was so much fun and everyone has been so supportive where yes, I think I will continue. :)

Great to hear! Good luck with your big project!

Developer

Thank you so much!

Nice to see here a game that isn't made with Unity, Unreal or Godot getting some traction. Didn't know that RenPy allowed games to work in browser. Nice work overall.

Developer

Thank you so much! Yes, I was originally planning to use godot but since Ren'Py is made for VN's I decided to try it out.  I'm glad I did, it worked wonderfully and I caught on to it very quickly. thank you for playing the game and liking it. :) I appreciate you.

This was a nice short horror experience! Earned my follow.

Developer

Omgosh thank you so much for the follow. XD I appreciate you  and your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed my mini novella. :D

Submitted(+1)

Great job with the atmosphere, you put the assets to really good use. I hadn't played a Ren'Py game before, it's an interesting engine

Developer(+1)

It really was an interesting engine to work with being that it's complete coding but their language was very easy for me to pick up for what I did here in this game.   Thank you so much for your comments and definitely try Ren'Py -- it's pretty nifty, honestly!

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

Nice work! You did a good job building ambience with the sound effects and music.

I'm not sure if I'd agree that the playtime is 45 minutes. I got a good ending escaping from the witch with the sister in about 5 minutes.

I really like Ren'Py games. Well done!

Developer(+1)

I was basing it off of slower readers and if they decided they wanted to go back and find all the 5 endings.  But it is a shorter VN for sure! I'm glad you liked it and thank you so much for the tips and such! I'll edit the time to about 10-15 mins :D I appreciate you.
