How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
You're a former student investigating your old schoolhouse to uncover the dark, spooky secrets that lurk there. Also, I made a Gameboy ROM for it.

I really like this game! It's spooky and also I like how the music played into the time running out feeling. I'm curious how you managed to time the music so that it seems to speed up as your time ran out, and also how you made the flashing lightning, it's cool! I guess the only feedback I'd have is the design of the space, I wish there was a bit more sign posting as to where everything is, like maybe a map or something. I was just wandering around till I found something. Overall, this has been great!

For the music, we had an invisible object that played the initial background music, then swapped music routines as the timer started to drain. We would then switch to the tense music when the timer ran out and the ghost started chasing the player. As for the lightning, we simply swapped between two different background color palettes of varying brightness every few seconds using GB Studio's Color mode. With that said, I'm glad you enjoyed the experience! Thanks for the feedback! :)

Great entry, at the start I was a bit confused with the timer that I didnt knew what was for and  with the keypad as I had issues with it, the game feels a lot like a Gameboy game and the music is great!

Thanks for the feedback! If I come back to this later, I can try spacing out the keys so they don't act in such a weird way. :)

Interesting game! The game feeling is good, it feels real Gameboy-ish. I had problems with the keypad too, I inserted the right number combination, but I got an error saying it was a wrong combination.
A little suggestion: the music seems to restart at every change of a scene, it's a bit annoying.

Yeah, the keypad puzzle is kinda weird. I think if I spaced out the buttons better, it would work as I intended. Still, thanks for the feedback! :)

I liked the graphics! The sound, a tiny bit repetitive, but was ok overall. Well done1

Very authentic game boy look and feel!

This was some scary stuff; the slow, droning music really helped create a proper spooky atmosphere!!

The password input was a bit infuriating, trying to figure out where to press to get the numbers i wanted, but maybe in universe the student was just shaking so much they couldn't hit the right keys ^^

Anyway, good job!

Thanks! The way the password puzzle works is kinda weird, but I'll be sure to space out the buttons a bit more in a future update! :)
