dude this is crazy! I love the shaders and the player controller and setup with the different items is really unique I loved putting heaps of junk on my character and going into battle!

Amazing Submission. Really blown away by this!

The artstyle is incredible, and setting up the player the way you wnat is pretty cool.

I was kinda confused at first on how to get to the boss, but It's fun to play, good work!

the visuals of this game are amazing and i really liked the attachments! super great

Incredible amazing!

I really like the style of this game, what is it called?

Developer(+1)

I think it's just cell shaded with outlines

Really fun action, I really like the HUD movement. Well done!

What I liked:

  • The visuals are amazing. Pretty far ahead of any other game I've played
  • Moving around and jumping feels responsive and cripsy. The dash specifically is very juicy
  • Overall polish of the game including sound, intro, tutorial are all super professional

What I thought could be improved:

  • I was confused how to get past the barricade at first, I thought I was just stuck.
  • It could've been more clear that the basic gunshots were actually doing damage. For a bit I thought that only the charge shot actually damaged the tank because the health bar was going down so slowly

Glad, you found the bug and have a jam-usable solution!!

Looks cool, play's nice, good job.

Developer(+2)

THERE'S CURRENTLY A BUG WHERE IF YOU HAVE A CONTROLLER PLUGGED IN THE INPUT STOPS RESPONDING AFTER SWITCHING FROM EDIT MODE TO NORMAL MODE,

so please plug out your controller before playing, this will be fixed after the jam ends

  • couldn’t get game to work on Linux (see below screenshot)
  • would have been nice to have a skip/fast forward on the intro comic (got annoying while trying some variations trying to get this to work)

Developer

You can skip the comic by clicking enter actually

Hands down one of the best entries to this jam, if not the best

The character customisation was hilarious, everything felt so powerful and full of weight and juice, I didn't experience any glitches or anything, and the visual style was really  cool!

The only minor wish I had was a different soundscape during the character customisation, as the thumping track and the NPC's incessant chatter gets kinda annoying after a few minutes when you're just sticking stuff to Jeremy (but the music was very good during combat!)

Built a weapon that was so loud, the music attenuation cut it out completely while burning through a single mag in 0.2 seconds, 10/10, would pay for this

I have old GPU and it was very lagging. It's also too easy to accidentally build robot that will hide your cursor. Did you implement theme?

Developer(+1)

We're aware that the game doesn't run the greatest on lower end computers, and we'll be fixing that after the jam ends. The theme was implemented in two ways (small spoilers): by Jeremy paying the price of his actions and going bankrupt and also you pay the shopkeeper to get the upgrade modules.

Everytime I tried to add something to my character, I would lose control of it :/ (I'm playing on PC)
I still managed to play by just skipping the "build your character" phase at the beginning.

It's an incredible game! lot of polish on the animations and gun feel (I would say there is just a bit too much camera movement when you shoot for my taste, but it's still really good and juicy). The visuals are amazing too!! And the dialog at the beginning is really funny, but a bit too long.

everything about the rail gun is incredible!! I love how you have to charge it with the normal attack, the animation, hitstop, VFX, floating texts, everything is out of space!!! I wouldn't even expect this level of polish and juiciness from your average AA game.

The boss fight is really top notch, especially for a game jam! If I would judge it as a released game (since it's way over my expectations for a jam XD). I think the moment where the boss rushes at you could be better telegraphed, and there could be a  bit more feedback when you get hit.

thanks for making this game, I had a blast playing it!

Unfortunately it bugs out when you try to attach a piece to your character. One you confirm the addition of the piece, you can no longer control your character. Its a shame, because if you skip it you get to the game and its god damn phenomenal.

The boss fight is a ton of fun, the visual effects are extremely striking and every attack feels fantastic. It's just a super juicy, visceral experience. I just wish I could attach those parts! Sound design and model quality are also top notch. Really strong entry, bravo. Please update with a fix for the part attaching after the jam!

Developer

We've actually gotten the same bug report another time, are you playing on mac?

This was on windows

It bugs out when you have a controller plugged in, so if you wanted to give it another go, unplug your controller and have fun :)

I really like the building idea and the cartoony visuals are awesome! I did have an issue where when shooting all the audio would cut out.

Besides that though I really enjoyed playing through and think it could be expanded into a really cool game!

fun entry!

The game stops responding to input every time I place an item, am I the only one experiencing this ? It's too bad, the game looks sick, I want to play it !

Really well done, a wonderfull boss fight! I admit i tryed to defeat it witout power up and it's insanly difficult! But building yourself is totaly managable! Well done m8!

Well, the game is awesome! BUT there is a great problem: it's built for high end pcs. No joke, I turned in my good gpu (3 gb, i know, it's bad but should play a jam game) and it was really low fps, to the point of the game being bad to play. So yeah, maybe you could put a low end mode. lol

Submitted

This is some very good stuff! Quite some effort was put into this game. The visuals are very well done.

I like the equipment building mechanic. Having a restart button would have been nice since I got this build on my second try:

But it turns out it makes my rate of fire so low I can't fire anymore so I had to alt-F4 and also with the fruit build since it is just cosmetic.

Later I got that build with the high fire rate and was finally able to beat the boss in a short time

One thing I noticed with this high fire rate build is that the shooting sound starts blocking all other sounds, I don't know if that is intentional, or maybe it needs to be limited.

A very cool and enjoyable game overall. Good job.

The polish on this is insane, the boss fight was amazing
