Had some serious trouble playing it as for example, if I hit 1010 (Enter) I went Up and a 0 showed up already written, which takes me 2 turns to shoot for example, making it impossible to play. It happens when going down also or even some times when shooting. I'm positive I didn't hit that 0 by accident. Seemed fun tho

First off, the name alone is awesome. I have never played a game using binary controls like this, and it is such a cool idea! It was also pretty hard, but maybe that is just me. Love the western theme, and great art. Cool take on the on/off theme, well done!

And if you haven't had a chance to check out my game Foxy Boom Boxy, I would appreciate any feedback, thanks!

What a fun idea!

This isn't strictly a criticism, but I do find it odd that there are four options [1010 = UP / 0101 = DOWN / 1100 = SHOOT / 1111 = RESTART] when four bits is 16 combinations. Maybe the other 12 combinations could also perform actions. Not necessarily beneficial actions, mind. Perhaps 0111 could go down twice and 1110 could go up twice. Maybe 1101 is a piercing rifle attack that causes a momentary input delay.

Great work!

ahah it exercises the brain ^^ For info, commands dont work on my numpad but only on the nums just up the letter keys.

I usually don't like these sort of "type to moving and interact" games but this one is pretty good! because you only work with 1 and 0 it less of how fast you can type and more of how fast your reflexes are. Only real negative is that I think a health bar for the house would've been nice, with how fast pace the game is it really needs something more concrete then the house getting busted up a bit. Great little arcade game

thats a genius game idea ! :0

Enjoyed playing a lot <3

the game is so hard though <.> but It's fun to keep trying :D

Great job !

I love the game althought I think it would be a bit more interesting if instead of moving the player and shooting each enemy had their own code… but the game is really addictive

I love how original the game idea is, but playing it is pretty hard. I kept on getting my house blown up, because I was afraid to get shot by the bandits.

I love how you've introduced the concept of manipulating numbers to facilitate upward and downward movement. It's a fantastic idea! However, I'm uncertain if the game entirely aligns with the theme of the jam. The artistic style of the game is impeccable – a solid 10/10. Great job overall!

This game is so very well made! I am in love with the mechanics. I like that I have to type in the commands, and it feels good every time I smash my enter key. Quick suggestion, I might have not played long enough to discover them due to difficulty, but what if there were power ups that gave players hotkeys for movement, or maybe health.  Beautiful game though, great job!!!

maybe check out my game in your free time?

Fun and interesting idea. Didn't feel quite as satisfying as I would have hoped (typing rapidly for in-game actions to happen vs simply hitting buttons isn't my cup of tea). But the overall design, implementation, and VFX are great! High marks from me!

I love the idea so much and the gameplay loop is addictive, I couldn't stop playing for a while!

The only suggestion would be to add a way to erase input because there were multiple times where I messed up the code and I had to finish it before I could write another one. However, the game is still amazing.

This is such a new and unique way to play a game I love it, wish there was a backspace for when I messed up though.

(I would really appreciate it if you checked out my game too)

Developer

Thanks for playing! I initially planned to add a backspace but I decided to scrap the idea because it could make some things a little more confusing. Since you would need to find the backspace on your keyboard while a bunch of bandits are shooting you.

Surely will check your game when I have some time :)

I enjoy a classic shout out game! Especially those typing game ones from back in the day. This was a fun take, I love the little robot cowboy theme also.

Got stressful at times but once I got into the flow it was great fun!

Developer

Thank you! I really like to try new concepts for games during game jams, that was my first try on something that messed more with the controls. I'm really glad you liked it :)

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I will totally check out your game when I have some spare time :)

I actually REALLY enjoy the concept and love the binary 0n/Off reference, although I think 1 minute in having four enemies in one row and getting immediately wrecked might be a bit too difficult! I enjoyed it though!

Developer

Thanks for playing, I'm really glad you liked the game :)

I might do some tweaking on the game's difficulty on the future, when the jam ends.

Neat idea but the controls are a bit tough.  If there's only 3 controls, why not 2 or 3 bits so there's less to type.  I really liked the background music.

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks for playing the game! The main reason why I decided to use 4 bits is because I think 3 of them would make the game too easy. Either the controls would be 111 to go up, 000 to go down and 101 to shoot, or they would be a lot more confusing, like 110 to go up, 100 to go down and 101 to shoot.

It also combines with the computer binary digits, that uses 4bits, 8bits, 16bits and so on.
