Great game, I love the idea, and the music has that boom box feel, and overall 10/10! great job!
Thanks for your kind words Mango, and I appreciate you playing and joining in the jam!
The graphics were very good and the sound part too. Only the controls are a little weird.
Thanks Edvaldo, Arcane Defense was super cool by the way! I definitely do need to work on the controls and make them a bit more streamlined, with better layout on the keyboard. Thanks for playing and for your feedback!
Love the story and the colorful graphics and animations! The concept is very original. Small note: The description of the controls on your itch.io page doesn't say that you can press K to kick (the ingame description does though). It's a bit strange to use keys that are so far apart from another (Q, B, K), but it was fun playing nonetheless!
Thank you Senover - Yes, I started to feel that the instructions might be overwhelming and that the kick ability was not going to contribute much to gameplay, so I did remove it from that portion to focus on the Boom ability. Thank you for pointing that out!
Love the graphics and the concept. I think the distribution of the controls are weird for a QWERTY keyboard. Cinematics are fun and design in general are really good. Maybe with more player feedback and keyboard configuration this would be next level. Good work.
Thanks Kami, I certainly hear your feedback and I agree! I appreciate it.
Ripple Runner had such great character art by the way!
Great assets, voice work and rapping! The controls and gameplay can be a bit streamlined to make actually going from one point to the next a bit more intuitive, but has the foundations of a great narrative game. Nice job!
Thanks Breadfruit for the kind words and helpful feedback! I certainly agree with your comments about the controls, I appreciate it.
Superconductor Brother was I think the first jam entry I played and it stood out to me from the get go! Nice work!
I recommend preload the sound assets in the game. There has been a sync problem with the audio when I was playing.
Other than that, graphics are simple and beautiful. Good game, keep at it :)
This is a really good suggestion to preload the sound assets, something I was unaware could be done in GDevelop, thank you for letting me know! I appreciate the feedback and will keep this in mind in the future, thank you! And your game is by far one of my favs in the jam, and I hope you're able to add more levels, because it was a very satisfying challenge without crossing into frustrating territory!
This might be the most charming game in the jam. There's raw sincerity at every turn. Everyone involved sounds like they're having so much fun. The art and audio is simple, but great.
I really liked the boombox mechanic. It was very fun drawing crowds of bugs together only to light them up, and the backing track is fun and catchy.
The control scheme is a bit strange. Q, B, and K are so far from each other, my hand was curling into knots trying to get all of them. While there are several good alternatives, even just Q, W, and E would improve it significantly by reducing total key coverage.
Unfortunately, while none of the mechanics are particularly difficult, the combination of one-hit death and restarting at the beginning of the level is so, so harsh. I spent so long clearing the first level just from retreading old ground due to one-hit kills near the end of the level.
The funny thing is, all the frustration caused by one-hit-restarts was absolutely worth enduring, because I got to the end of the game, and I heard the credits song, which was amazing!
Great work! Fantastic!
That is all really good advice, and things I am trying to keep in mind for future projects. QWE would have been better, certainly. And yes, I definitely need to add checkpoints in the game or a damage system rather than one-hit kills, but glad you made it through anyway and thank you for the very kind words!
I left a review and comments, but will say again, Logic Bulb was incredible, so well executed!
I really liked the intro with News Dog and well done with adding voice acting such a cool touch for a jam game. Really liked the world and characters. The instant death was a bit harsh and maybe add some UI to see the “boom meter” fill up.
Thank you for the kind words Avecta, and that is a great suggestion for a boom meter, and something I have certainly given thought to. Thank you and great job with Blocker Bro!
Loved the concept, but what I really did is went to the safe zone to charge and then exploded everything (you said you can't kill sleeping bugs, for me it worked). Then when Ant boss showed up, I couldn't figure out a way to beat her. Also kicks doesn't seem to do anything. But tbh I loved the graphics, boom box sound and the dubbing. Pretty solid game for a jam congratulations!
Thank you Marcel! My wife and I played Junior Electrician together and it was awesome. Good to see a lot of cool concepts in this Jam.
Whoa, this game was super cool! The graphics and voice acting are top-notch, especially for a game jam game. I really loved the cutscene at the beginning. I was expecting the kick to have more knockback so that I could have more time to charge up the boombox. But other than that, I thought this was a super charming and fun game!
Thank you for the kind words and feedback, I definitely hear what you're saying about the kick knockback, I appreciate the suggestion! And great job with Dress to Impress, love that idea and look forward a fuller version. Thanks!
Cool game. Sometimes I got reset even when doing the boom attack
Thanks Bukkbeek, and I certainly hear your feedback. I will try to work on that issue, sometimes collision still happens after boom unfortunately. Thank you!
The voice acting is commendable as are the graphics. The problem is that Foxy only has one life and there is no checkpoint system, so it can be frustrating when you lose a life. Despite everything, a very good game, visually attractive.
Thank you Letipas, your Windows game was great btw!
Yes, I certainly wish I had taken more time to implement multiple lives and checkpoints, etc. Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
very nice game
Enjoyed playing the game :3
saw the entire cutscene and It's fun to watch actually :D
Great voice acting :o
really love the art style in the game <3
Unfortunately I wasn't able to play much in the game as the first rock require Boom, I tried to press B many times and Held B many times, but nothing happened <.>
Overall, great job !
Hey VegeTato, "Q" plays the Boom Box and charges the Boom Attack (B). Foxy says "I can boom" when the attack is ready. Sorry if that was not clear in the instructions. I definitely learned a lot from making this one and feel better prepared for the next one. Thank you for playing and for your feedback!
Graphics are awesome, though gameplay is left to be desired. I wish Foxy had more than one HP or there was a checkpoint system.
Thank you, and that is certainly fair and true! These are all things I wanted to implement but ran out of time. Thanks for playing!
pretty well done but pretty lagy p.s can you check out my game pls https://itch.io/jam/gdevelop-game-jam-4/rate/2208939 ratings are greatly appreciated
Love it! Well done :)
Thanks Erdogantaskurt! Nice job on Color Chaos, that one seems like it is doing great in the jam, good luck!
very nice game! made sure to give you a high rating!( love the quotes)
(can you check out my game to I will appreciate it a lot!)
"I can boom! I can boom! I can boom!" lol. (A bit repetitive with the Foxy quotes if I'm being honest). So, not sure how I know when the boom box attack is ready? (a little power meter would have helped I think). Couldn't get passed the first 3 bugs sadly so I didn't really get to experience much of the game :(
Hey rbrammen! Thanks for playing. Yes, that was one of the mechanics I struggled with in the limited jam time; I intended for the Boom windup to reset once the music stopped, but instead you can spam the Q key and charge it many times unfortunately, then hit B to boom. I think I've got a better way to do it now, but just did not finish it in time. Thanks for your good feedback!
Super beautiful graphically! The cohesive style, foreground/background layering are very clean. I also love how much thought went into the story for this, but I'm also glad you made it skippable for anyone replaying.
Thank you Aaaahron! I left some comments and a review for Analogue Awakening which has been one of my favorite entries so far, really nice job! Thank you for playing Foxy and for your feedback.
