what a spectacular piece of art. Very cozy feeling.

Developer(+1)

Thank you CrayonMelon! So happy the cozyness succeeded in getting through!

Top marks. I think you know from the stream playback, I loved this entry. Really well done, spoonsweet. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next.

Developer(+1)

Hey man! Thanks for dropping by again! Seeing you smile when figuring out the little stuff I put in there, fills me with joy random moments in the day. Thanks for all your work during this jam for the community as a whole!

Can't wait to see what troubles Mr Mops gets into next!

Um.. I think this is the first game I've ever fully gave 5 stars on everything... Just awesome.

I love the art, the level, and really want to see what you do next!

Developer

you are very kind vocare4! Glad you enjoyed it, hope I meet your expectations!

Very beautiful and quaint, nice work. The little ambient sounds are subtle but very nice. I like how sentiments are displayed in the world as you get near them, adds some nice character. And the character avatar is so cute!

Developer(+1)

thanks for dropping by Patrick!

It's nice to hear you enjoyed it! Didnt put too much thought on the text popping up, and I think some context for "the fish" could be appreciated hehe

I got to say I love it  there were only 2 things I saw when you shake the house thing you can see a black line of pixels on the sprite for a second and the second thing is really nothing but I would like to be able to go behind the building along with that maybe make them semi-transparent when walking behind, but other then that nothing bad I love the art I love the sound I love the footsteps only with the keys were a bit bigger because at first idk what they where. anyways good job

Developer(+1)

hey Crimson Wolf Games! Great seeing you again this year! Thanks for dropping by!

Great spotting wirhthat pixel line! I tried a weird way to have the player show on the back of buildings, and involves sprites being cut in half, then pasted on different layers. I also dont really like it, so thanks for reminding me to try and improve it if I can!

Also for showing behind the building, I wondered as well if the semi transparent would be better... but since I wanted to use the limited colour palette as much as possible without many effects, I decided to go for just the outline. Call it a "stylistic choice" hehe although to be honest it was maybe the one I could pull off the better under the circumstances.

Thanks again for dropping by constructive comments!

When standing on the top of the mountain, the screen is half the sky and half the snow, with the snowflakes flying in the sky, you just exhale. Then I know this is the right game. Awosome work.

Developer

Thanks Zhzh! Hope to live up to your expectations!

Very beautiful game in a great location.

Developer

Thanks for dropping by Dev Pirates! Great to see you here!
Thanks for the love!

Obviously the art is exceptional. Level design is also so good. It felt like it continued to open up as I learned what I could and could not traverse, even through the level itself wasn't changing. Great design work

Developer

Hey ICY games! Glad you felt this way! After watching some people play it, people go to find the first key on the right first instead of going up the stairs, they pick it up by accident, and haven't seen the door yet :D
Hopefully I will have the chance to work more on this in the future rounds! Thanks again!

Holy frick is that some good art.  Loved the look of the game

Developer

thanks for dropping by HazMatt! Glad you enjoyed it!

Loved it, artstyle, music, overall vibe... I would even have removed the little gameplay for more art  like parallax in the background to enjoy even more this atmosphere ! Well done !

Developer(+1)

Thanks da-dam! I definitely need to learn how to do proper parallax backgrounds, will put it on my list! Thanks for the suggestion!
(PS: I am sure you see how much I would have liked to explore your game more, but got destroyed and blocked :D hopefully next round!)

While the girl was "enjoying the breathe" I enjoyed awesome art! I imagine this game being in detective or criminal genre xD. Hope to see more levels and full game. 10/10

Developer

Thanks for dropping by rsdnrs!

Thanks for the suggestion for the detective genre, ideas are always appreciated on what people feel when playing!

Gorgeous game, and I love details like the snow prints. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Definitely a unique location!

Developer

Thanks gastricsparrow (thats a sick name btw)! Glad you enjoyed it!

Absolutely beautiful art design, I want to see more of this one!

Developer(+1)

thanks humble guildmaster! I hope to live up to your expectations!

This looks so good. Great pallete, great pace, a lot of small details that add A LOT to the feel. I really liked this one.

Developer

Cheers for dropping by rio85! Glad you enjoyed it! Happy it all adds together!

Such beautiful artwork as always, spoonsweet <3 really nice environment and attention to detail with the footprints in the snow and the metal scrap noises. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Hey Fennec! Thanks for dropping by!

Took me hours of drawing, glad it paid off! Thanks for noticing all the details!

Submitted(+1)

Such a cute little character in a game with so much polish. I really appreciate small details like the character outline still being visible when they are behind an object. Full marks from me!

Developer(+1)

Wow Lio Lim, such kind words! I am so happy you enjoyed it all!

That outline you picked up on was always a wonder of mine how developers managed to pull it off in 2D games. I have found one solution that I still cannot believe it works that well! It involves a lot of different layers, cutting sprites and collision shapes at key parts. I really want to make a video about it soon!

Thanks again!

Submitted

Looking forward to the video!

This is so pretty, and it has so many small little details, I really love that clang thing when you walk into the bars!

Developer

Hey mooshroom! You noticed! <3

Truth is, I had to edit every single of the 9 audio files that play at random for the metal plates, because I ripped them all with half a second of silence... SFX is a whole domain on game dev I am slowly experimenting with! (Any tips, always welcome!)

Submitted(+1)

This is a total vibe

Developer(+1)

Thanks for dropping by Wolfenrahd!
I was thinking of using lighting effects, but a) I haven't experimented a lot yet with them, and b) the limited palette was quite nice at portraying this serene evening vibe I think.

Submitted(+1)

really amazing art. I love the little effects like the snow and the footprints

Developer

Thanks Game dav!
Thanks for noticing! For the snow I made two particle emitters, one if cyan and one in purple, to counter the respective dominant colours on the limited palette. Felt quite good when that solution came to mind :D
