Really neat interpretation of the modifier and a unique rhythm game! It's incredibly challenging at the end, but still pretty fun!

Yay rhythm games! This'll be awesome to build on for round 2! The fantasy of building a band is universal and fun, and the pixel art is great. If I had to pick something specific to consider for a future version, my brain was SO challenged that the band members don't line up left to right to match the keyboard's left to right of the keys. Haha if that makes sense. So Q should be the left member, W the next, etc. But maybe that'd make it too easy. Nice work!

Wow, this game implemented more is more modifier really well I love how fast it gets out of hand to control all the charathers

difficulty really ramps up but i gotta say after a few tries you can get really good. My biggest complaint is that learning which buttons are which instrument while i am also trying to play felt frustrating. I wish there was a couple of seconds to catch my bearings first. other than that one minor nitpick i think it was great! great job!!

Great game, very tough with all the buttons on one side so close together. But I had fun.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Great feedback, I could definitely have used different keys for better ergonomics.

Cheers!

This was a fun rhythm game, and the art looks great! My only suggestion would be that maybe switching the key to press isn't necessary?  It was already a lot to keep track of.  Still had a lot of fun, though!

Developer

Thanks for playing and leaving feedback!

I absolutely agree with your suggestion 100%. Will implement post-jam and hopefully use this is a lesson for future games.

Cheers!

Another "More is More" person! SHOUT OUT TEAM SIMON!!!! I love rhythm games and was really excited to play this one. This bad boy is HARD haha. I love the idea and concept but I wasnt able to get too far. I think someone said it earlier but the buttons changing for the characters each run was a bit confusing but i think the hard part for me is that they were centralized to one part of the board. So I wanted to use both hands to play but it felt awkward to do so. Love this though and I could see this becoming a nice indie title with some polish and a dash of narrative.

Developer

Hey, thanks for the kind feedback, much appreciated!

I definitely got the difficulty wrong with this one, a good learning experience I suppose.

Thanks again and good luck for the rest of the jam. Team Simon FTW

Cute idea, that really fits the theme well. What a chaotic game. It would be helpful if the buttons were not randomly assigned at the start of each song. Maybe making each performers position correspond to a similar position on the keyboard?

Developer

Appreciate you playing and rating the game!

You're spot on with your feedback too. The button randomization was a bit of a blunder on my part. Thought it would make it more fun but instead I think it's more of a detriment to the game. Hope you had fun any way.

Thanks!

the cute characters did not prepare me for the multi-tasking chaos. that being said it was a fun, difficult challenge with some nice visuals, good job :)

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Difficulty in a gameJam is always a hard thing to get right, I definitely didn't get it quite right this time. Something I need to continue to work at for sure.

Appreciate the feedback, and good luck in the jam!

Outch i'm really bad at this kind of multitask stuff. I recommend not playing full screen to see all band member at once. Love the little character style ! Cool entry !

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Unfortunate that you had issues with fullscreen, not sure what the cause is. Will have to take a look after the jam ends.

Thanks for feedback and good luck for the rest of the jam!

Very difficult game, but not in a bad way, in a chaotic way. I do wish there was more time to see what buttons would need to be used before it started, and I do want to say the design of the characters was amazing. Nice entry!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

It definitely does get chaotic, in a way that surpasses my original intentions.

Great feedback about giving more time to the player before the start of each round, I guess I could also have not randomized the keys every round.

Appreciate the comment and rating, good luck in the jam!
