And the game is the same Gain Ground, only better this time and with the cutest animals on tracks!

Super fun game, great job taking elements from the original and modernizing them to make them more fair and fun. There's some elements though that I do wish had been changed from the original, like the ability to rescue more than 1 friend at once or the ability to still rescue friends after killing all the enemies. There was a ton of polish present, the art was simple but clean and cute and did a great job of complimenting the style of the game. In terms of sound design and music you definitely knocked it out of the park, the sfx being drums was a really awesome idea that really makes the game. I wish the tutorial was more than just pages of instructions at the beginning, even just a couple levels with controls and text around could explain the mechanics in a way that's much easier to consume. Still a phenomenal game, so great job!

I love the "ba-dum-tss" when you hit the enemy. And in general the cartoony feel of the game... It reminded me the cup-head game! 

Very challenging but I like that you let the player continue after failed round.

The level design and boss fights are fantastic, especially considering the sheer number of them. I made it to the end with six characters and can't wait to try the other two another day. The music and sound are upbeat and sound great together. You've modernized the original while staying true to its spirit and even kept the left/right hand aiming thing which definitely added a strategic layer particularly when next to walls. Awesome job!

Really smart implementation of the sound effects. Where did you get the inspiration for that from? When I was working on my game I was looking at Ape Out and it reminded me a lot of that. Game was really fun, everything felt great and was nicely polished. You nailed the criteria for gain ground. Good job man!

I think it just came from the music track. Once i found it, it just kind of set the tone for everything. I actually changed the art to feel better with the music as well.

Wish I could give this 6 stars for audio and sfx criteria. I was shoot-jamming with the music while playing through the game lol. Now I have to adjust all the other sound ratings down to 4 stars instead :') j/k

I love what you've done with the game. Everything feels great, it's fun to play, I enjoyed every moment of it. And while it's definitely based on the original game, this game is so much more fun :D

I have no words other than good job. Full marks here. The only thing I'm not sure about was I think there's supposed to be two kinds of attacks? At least in the description it says there are, but I could only get the special attack working. I honestly think it's better that way in the end (since an all directional attack for every player would be OP in this cramped design) but the verbiage seems a little confused on that.

I'm sorry you had trouble with firing the regular weapon.

Can I ask what type of Keyboard you use? If it's different than mine I'll try and make sure it doesn't happen to other people in the future.

I have a QWERTY, and I was using WASD and comma was the key that wasn't working.  / worked fine.

The art is amazing!! Its so cool how you linked the music and the sfx, really good job!! Is there a reason the music wasnt active during the intro? It was a bit quiet at the start but it was so fun at the end! Great job!

I had a computer incident the day before the deadline where I lost a chunk of work so, by the time I had gotten everything back together, I just didn't have it in me to track down a backing track for the introduction. 

I agree with you though, it would have been nice.

This game has STYLE!!

All the visual audio elements are cohesive and tell a solid story. The UI is also nice.

Only part I'm unsure about is the rescuing. It seemed like I could only rescue 1-2 friends in a room, and not any others for some reason. Was this intentional or a bug? Otherwise had tons of fun!

That was actually the intention. In the original GG , there are two types of rescue . The ones who are baked onto the level and the ones who fall during gameplay. The ones who are baked in, you can try to grab as many times as you like. The ones who fall need to be collected before any one else falls or they dissappear or, in my case turn into a little dancing grave stone.

Amazing game. I like the character variety. The art style and sound design also feel great. It nails the core elements from the original game, but still feels very creative. If I have to nitpick, the continue function only respawns the character you have when you enter a level, which makes some levels kind of hard. Other than that, I really love the game.

It was kind of a toss up for me there with the continues but the best way I could describe my decision was it just felt right to do it that way especially since you have the opportunity to get people back as the game progresses.
