nice but idk why you would be happy as being sad destroys everything which allows progress while being happy is pointless (maybe thats the message but idk)

Really nice artwork combined with an ability I have never seen before. Well done!
This game is by far I think the deepest of any I’ve seen yet, not mechanically but emotionally. I think if you were to make this into a couple levels with a small wordless story, you could make people cry real tears. I think it’s a great ability and a fantastic concept, and I think you could make a really powerful game that could help people if done right. No pressure or anything 😅👌
Nice mechanic and you balanced it nicely by giving energy bar. It could make a good top-down survival / puzzle combo gameplay.
Ohhh this is really interesting. I like the spin on "not doing the thing" rather than doing it and can definitely lead to some interesting puzzles. Nice one!
You game description cracked me up. I want to say I did my best to avoid bumming people out on the way to my bedroom, but on my first run I just wanted to destroy everyone to see if there would be a different outcome. It was fun and my guess is you'll have different end-states and scores in a bigger build (if that's part of a later challenge), but for a short prototype I enjoyed it.
I thought your art was nice and the color palette was a perfect choice to match sadness. My small critique is I think you could have used your character art and done some small changes and color swaps to be the NPCs instead of big yellow smiley faces ... I like that the smiley faces are a quick read and easy to understand how they're feeling, but they felt a little out of place with the other art.
Overall, great work.
Thank you. I think it's good to test the world, it's what I tend to do with most games.
Good critique, I chose to use icons instead of characters to save time, but like you said, I could have also saved time repurposing the main character with a few minor changes. I agree that that would have been better. Good lessons for me to learn, thank you.
I dig the concept, though like the others said it's not clear how this would play out in a proper level.
But I am sure you will figure it out, looking forward to it! :)
Thank you. Yeah, I'm not used to designing a game like this, I tend to over plan as opposed to creating a character with an ability and some time later thinking about other aspects of design. I think the idea has potential to both be pretty good and unique or pretty bad and terrible depending on the direction I choose.
I like the concept, but I am not sure how it will translate into the gameplay/design. The art is really good!
This art is very beautiful, congratulations for the idea and execution of the project, I believe that at this level of pixel art, even if you draw a stickman figure it looks beautiful, congratulations.
