This game is brilliant. Great job on the fun characters and on point level design

Congratulations for the game! I loved how the mechanics were designed to fit the theme. Rated <3

If you are interested in Tower Defense, check out our game. A tower defense where you can control only one tower at a time.

This is such a great concept! I love the idea of running the same level but finding out how to reach the previously wondered about areas after reading what each character can (and can't do). Excellent job on this!!

Submitted

Couldn't try all of the characters (for now) but it's really impressing how you managed to build one level which is challenging for all of them. Nice job.

Developer

Thank you!

I love how every character changes how I perceive level (quality over quantity). I love humorous descriptions ("normal boi does whatever normal boi can" reminds spiderman theme song - "spiderman does whatever spirder can").

I played, rated and gave feedback-commented your game, please, do the same for mine. My game is mix of narrative based with top down shooter and has profound ideas about life (if you reach the end). Use left mouse button to shoot and arrows to move. Remember to collect power ups. https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/461368

Thank you for your feedback.

Fabulous! I didn't do everything yet but I will continue to play after the jam because it is so good.

The level design is just awesome and you exploit everything possible in there. Every playthrough I did helped me see the level ijn a different light and you have so many character it's amazing.

Let's not forget it feels really good to play, it's responsive, have good feedback. Everything you need to have a good time.

Amazing work.

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you had a good time :)

Finally had a bit more time to play with the characters. What a treat!

Every character is a suprise and a real nocel way to play. I only failed to finish with the character that only goes straight and the climber :/

I also liked the music layers you added to the game. It's a nice touch!

really cool way to utilize one level , especially the sky guy. That was really cool. I didn't beat everything but what I saw I did like

Man this is easily the best game in the Jam, the levels that looks random at first make sense with each new character and plays out totally different. You level design skill is so good man.

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it.

Submitted

Hey, do you have other games on other platforms?

Developer

Nope

Submitted

I think this is my favorite game out of the whole jam.

Developer(+1)

Wow. Very happy to hear that!

Submitted

This was fantastic. I wish the character select was a button instead of death screen but this was so fun and challenging. Dash and Greed were a bit too similar I think but climb, float, sky, and dive were completely different.  Great job.

Developer

Thank you! Greedy Boy was supposed to be one of the easy ones (to make a path for). I thought it would be easy to make a unique path for him since I could just make a path of coins, but then there just wasn't one...greed and float were the only ones I didn't plan a path ahead of time and it shows. For float it just happened to work out somehow.

Fitting in Metroidvania level design within the time frame in a one level way is really brilliant, hats off to you!

Thank you!

Had a quite fun playing your game! Game feels good to play, the mechanics are really fun and intuitive to learn. Remembers Meat boy a lot, which I love :) I really liked the way you played with the level upsidedown, that was pretty interesting! Sounds add a lot of juiciness to the gameplay. Well Done !!!! :)

Developer

Thank you! Did you get to the one that flips the level 90 degrees ? It's my favourite but I fear I should have made it easier to unlock it :(

Submitted(+1)

Really cool design on this one. The different powers for each boy forces you to change your path through the level - which was quite fun to try and figure out. Good job!

Developer

Thank you! Glad you liked it.

An amazing little platformer! I love how each character has a path designed for them in mind! Great work! The single complaint I can think of is the lack of a soundtrack, and even then, it doesn't take away from the game too much.

Developer

Thank you! I planned to make all assets on my own and when I didn't have the time at the end to make music, I just did not think about putting some royalty free music or something like that. After the deadline, I remembered that that would have been fine with the rules and had a little faceplam moment over it :)

Sound and visuals should not be judged in this Jam. Easily top 20 game.

Developer

Well, that's an interesting topic. Mark said sound an visuals are not part of the rating, but then he talkes about gamefeel and juicyness all the time. That's mostly sound and grafic design. Even something like screenshake could be considered grafic design. There's no clear line there and I don't think there can be. It's tricky.

Submitted

I agree that graphic and sound play a role, BUT because it is a short GameJam, we must concentrate on the core idea (this is more like training for prototyping stage, where polishing is NOT advisible).

This is one of the best ones, definetly. Incredible level design and I absolutely loved the different boys you get to play as. This would be peak metroidvania design with the level opening up with the different boys. Wish there were music, but despite that, it looked and sounded really great, and it was a ton of fun to play. Good job ;)

Developer

That's a lot of praise. Thank you!
