Pretty simple but a cool mechanic.
And good job on making sure that the sawblades spawn outside of your view. Makes the game feel fair.
thanks! they can spawn in any of the 3 farthest corners, and the arena is too big for you to be anywhere near them when they spawn
Fun game. Destroying objects felt really satisfying. I think if there was some sort of indication that would tell you when you could shoot and move would help a lot. Also some sort of scoring system although I understand you were probably pressed for time
we wanted to add a score, and we plan to add both in the next update
thanks for the feedback!
Hey Oinykmoo!
Fun concept and good music choice.
Constructive thoughts:
- Add a point counter for kills.
- The concept of not having control over switching between drive and shoot is awesome, but i would usertest a countdown timer indicating when this switches. More predictability but still no control.
- Add obstacles on the map.
If you have time I would love it if you could try my game and give feed back. Its called Drone.
we wanted to add score and obstacles. Also, the mode changes are every 3 seconds, so it would just be constantly counting down
Simple, neat idea. Some visual indicators like arrows pointing to enemies, and a timer showing when the switch between movement and firing happens would spruce up the gameplay, I think. And more enemy variety. But you got a loop done, at least! Keep it up!
a constant clock could actually work, because it changes every 3 seconds, too fast for a countdown. We didn’t actually think of the enemy location indicator. We wanted to add more enemies but ran out of creativity
Really cool music. The controls were pretty good too, one thing i would add is a timer or something that gives you an idea of when the tank will shoot. Great work though!
it changes every 3 seconds, we might add a timer eventually
My goodness that was out of control hahaha!
thanks!
Nice game!! A bit too loud for me wearing headphones. I like the concept, it's a cool idea!! You should polish it, great job!
we might do so once the judgment period is over
Core gameplay loop was fun and addicting. It had a very nice rhythm to it. I think it would be improved by having a timer letting you know when it was going to switch from moving to shooting. If this was synced up to to music it could make for a great rhythm game!
we wanted to sync every 2 or 4 bars in the music to a swap but then ItsInTheSystem forgot i think
Gameplay was really fun, wish there was an objective, but it was very addicting!
we wanted to add score but ran out of time
Great game! Great use of the gamejam theme.
thanks
Lovely concept and execution! Both the running away and blasting away were just the right amount of frantic. I agree with another commenter that a scoring system would have been great, as your game is very addictive haha
thanks! we wanted to add it but ran out of time.
The game fits the prompt really well!
thanks!
Very interesting! There was a nice tension in not knowing whether I would be shooting or moving. It could benefit from scoring you based on how long you last, or on how many buzzsaws you destroy. It's fun on its own, but I think the added feedback would make it even better.
thanks! We wanted to add it but ran out of time
Something about the speed and absurdity of a tank running away from and randomly shooting at buzzsaws was hilarious. Fits the theme perfectly.
thanks!
Pretty solid concept, although I missed some HUD visuals to get feedback from the environment =)
Simple but fun way to use only mouse pointer to do both movement and shoot.
would be good to know how well i play each round ( Time survive or Kill count?)
thanks! We wanted to add score but ran out of time
Interesting use of the brief! well done :]. I like how it forces you to be positioned strategically in a type of game where you usually wouldn't think about that sort of thing.
thanks!
Nice idea of control. Good Job :)
thanks!
The art, music and pacing are great! I really love the controls. Maybe you could expand upon this game in a post-jam version.
we hopefully will do so over the weekend!
I would love to see this idea implemented into pacman :D
Really fun!
interesting idea! Thanks!
