How does your game fit the theme?
When I thought of out of control I thought of how in life there are lots of things out of our control. How we end up fixating on the things we can't control rather than on what we can control.

Did your team create the art for this game during the 48 hour time slot?

Yes

We created all art during the game jam

Did your team create the audio for this game during the 48 hour time slot?

No

We used pre-existing audio

I kept seeing your game float around the karma category, I finally found some time to sit down and play it. ^^ A very charming story! One that is quite familiar to many of us I'm sure. The characters are cute, they all felt very natural. The art is amazing! I can't imagine doing all that in 48 hours x.x

Great job on the jam! It was my first time too.

Thank you so much >w<

Yes! I was hoping this would be relatable, I felt that this is something people feel at least once in their lifetime.

Yess my arm and back is still hurting haha - luckily Ren'py took care of most of the coding aspects or I'd be dead OTL

thank you so much! your game is great too c:

Definitely! Life is kinda scary, but with a little help from those around us we'll all get through it ^^

Hmm... A visual novel. Too bad I don't have the superior English skills to understand the literature of this story.

Im so glad that there were some visual novel entries for the jam! I love visual novels :) A very wholesome sweet game! I am guessing the control theme was about anxiety? I don't really know how clear the theme is for the game but I think you guys did a great job!

Developer(+1)

Yayy I'm glad :D

Yeah it was more about how thoughts of anxiety, self-doubt, etc. can get out of hand. And how sometimes we worry so much about how much better others are than us, that we forget to focus on ourselves. It's a bit all over the place but yeah xP

Thank you so much !! (and also this was a solo project :D )

I loved the theme of this game! Great story and a great message underneath! <3 For some kind of feedback, the pacing on the story felt a bit slow, but overall, great writing and art all around!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much ^w^

and okie I'll keep that in mind ~

Nice game. I really liked the artwork. Don't normally play visual novels like this but it was fun. I would say pacing may have been a bit slow for me but others might disagree!

Developer

Thank you ^w^

And that's fair o:

That was great (and it was cute !).

I always love playing a good game about mental heath / psychology !! I liked your note "with the theme i directly thought about what we can't control in life" because i thought the same for my game !(maybe you'd like to play it, it's about panic attacks (but clearly not cute) ;) ).

Developer

Thank you very much ^w^

and yes I'd love to play it o:

Developer(+1)

Thank you ^_^

Art looked great, but as I know basically nothing about visual novels, I will not rate it

Developer

That's pretty fair - thanks :D

This was great! Usually I'm not into interactive visual novels but this one was so cute and wholesome I had to play it until the end. I like the pastel colored artwork and your drawing style. The music fits the setting and supports the emotional immersion.

Developer

Ahhh I'm glad to hear that ;w;; Thanks!

Submitted(+1)

Really enjoyed this! Loved the visuals and the music. Haven't played a RenPy VS in a while! Gave me some nostalgia. Quack!

Developer

Hahah that's good to know - thanks c:

Wow I'm really surprised at how fleshed out this is for such a short jam. I tried choosing different responses and damn there really is some genuine story branching! Endearing characters too, the duck theme is great.

I found some transitions to be a little rough, like at times the swapping of illustrations wasn't quite synced with the fades or the dialogue. And a small thing - I would've liked the end screens to be held for longer. They went away really quickly.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much >w<

Aye that makes sense o: I was pretty rushed doing all this

Yesss for the end screens for some reason my program refused to show them >_< I tried researching the problem but couldn't find anything

I decided to put em in the screenshots folder just to make up for it ;w;;

Cute artstyle and it really felt personal... Great work !  :)

Developer

Thank you ^^

Wow. I had to make sure I was still in the 2020 GMTK challenge games and not just some random person who spent more time making this game. It's so polished and the art is fantastic. I like your spin on the theme and it's so refreshing to see a game like this in the jam. Very well done!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much that means a lot >u<
