Wow the graphics are amazing. I also liked the story, fairly simple but still entertaining and emotional. Gameplay also was nice and simple, I guess here game could use some more polish and new features.
Overall great job creating that game in 48h :D
Sweet game with a solid mechanic :)
The art was great, and so was the story. The platforming was a little imprecise, but the check pointing was really forgiving so this didn’t matter too much.
Good job :D
The visuals are spectacular! The gameplay was really solid too for being just a platformer. The game did run kind of slow though but that might just be an internet issue type of thing. I did feel a lack of the theme though. It would have been nice to have the human character involved more to really connect with the theme better. Other than that this was a cute platformer that was fairly easy which isn't bad for a jam game!
I streamed it here for more feedback:
I love the 2D actor in a 3D world you've got going on. Gives the game some real character! Some of the mechanics could use some polish here and there, but overall it's a very enjoyable experience with some good audio and a fun story to follow along. Really well done!
Wonderful presentation and adorable dog. Well done!
The controls felt a little loose and off. It wasn't clear which objects were platforms, making some sections difficult because it wasn't clear where the path was.
Kinda disappointed in the cop theme though. Dogs are great. Cops are gross. Dog cop just makes me sad that this dog had to live with police and never knew true happiness :(
Oh jeez, you went way farther into the theme that I did. I just wanted to show a story between a human and his dog, no politics involved. Because I wanted the end to be more impactful I took the cop route (quick decision made in a really time strict game jam). You made me reconsider what I understood as a harmless name, so I might rename the game to "Detective dog" after the jam or find something to solve this issue. I can also assure you that canonically the dog lived happily ever after.
I am very happy the doggo survived. Thank you for that :)
The gameplay is very non-political, and I didn't think this game was made with the intention to be political. But being wary of how a topic might be viewed to other people, political or not, is part of design. I appreciate the open discussion on it though. :)
Yeah you can clearly see at the end that both of them survive and its a happily ever after. I now see how this topic might be seen from another perspective and yes, I understand It should have been part of the design by the start, so I'll try to have It in mind on future projects. Thank you for your feedback :)
The arts are incredible! The infiltration phases are good. And the story is just really touching. Good Job!
The art and music is amazing, but really ruined by the fact that the text is unskippable. The textboxes move so absurdly slowly. The frustration from that was so bad that it completely ruined the positive experience I had with the rest of the game.
I considered adding a button to skip the text, but due to the time I had left I wasn't able to. Sorry to hear that the slow text made you feel frustrated.
Beside the obvious great art I liked the switch from plattformer to stealth. Great Job
Switch who things happen to at the end and I would've been a bucket of tears. Great graphics and clean gameplay.
Love the aesthetic, story, and overall game ideas here. Could use some polish, controls are pretty loose and the enemy vision cones don't really line up with the characters. I quite enjoyed it though, was not expecting to cry from a jam game.
I'm amazed by the quality of the game and you made the 3D in Construct 3 very awesome, so well done!! Story is touching and damn the amount of work for 48h?!
Very well done and thanks for the touching experience, 5 stars everywhere for this game!
Good game and presentation, but I don't feel like it fits the theme really. It seems like a standard stealth platformer.
Hi! Sorry to hear that. I really tried to make a game that fits the theme not for mechanics but instead for the story. It is quite literally a joined together, altought I understand you don't feel it this way. Thank you very much for playing!
I was very impressed by it though. I don't mean to be so negative lol
Amazing game, especially art. Though i found one annoying thing. Maybe enemy detection should not be momentary? I think it would be better if they have to see you a bit before actually detecting. That would make it more forgiving, plus this will add a close call effect and make it more engaging.
Good point! Wanted to do a similar system but you know how Game jams work, need to sacrifice stuff to earn other!
"Rate this dog" 10/10 good boy
The game went in a way that I should have expected but also didn't. This is one of the few that took the prompt in a not-so-literal way, and I find that cool!
There are a few spelling errors (mainly "cough", which can be excused as personal preference, and "mystery"), but all in all, good job!
How on earth could you make a game this polished in 48 hours???? What kind of magic??????????
Wow! How did you get all that done in two days?! Very impressive and I liked the story that went with it. Really polished and professional-looking. I had fun playing :)
Top-notch game visually! I wish the narrative theme tied into the gameplay itself a bit more, but it was a fun little experience overall :)
Cute!
Art and animations here were top notch! Some of the platforming was a little iffy at moments but overall? Great work!
