Very fun! I thought it was a nice little game and it was pretty well polished. I did struggle a bit with realizing that I needed to hit the waffle iron with syrup to make a waffle but other than that it was really intuitive as well!

Interesting concept with the cart detaching. I wish there were some SFX and some music. Other than that, it was really fun!

Really fun game! Love the idea of shooting your score after you get hit. It's a really good way to have a score based game that isn't based on lives or health. Great job!

Gin has returned for a 3rd outing and so have I!

Fairly standard shooty game but a nice twist in that when the cart goes off you should probably go get it back before you lose all your waffles! The only real motivator for that are the waffles/points, but in the context of this game that's more than enough.

As others have mentioned sadly there wasn't any sound/music. Also wish there was some more enemy variety but of course with a limited time game jam such as this can't have everything.

And as always with the Gin games the art is great! Always love watching Gin on her journey for waffles!

clever use of the theme, you can shoot away your score. i ended up with 93 waffles. too bad there's no audio!

Reminds me of the Nyan cat video! Interesting game concept with the tradeoff between score and damage.

It's a cool bullet hell game, but I think it's a bit repetitive and could be more challenging. More challenge would motivate the player to try it multiple times to get better and get a higher score.

Haha, very true. Originally it was a lot harder, but we scaled down the difficulty specifically for the jam. I might be a shmup player, but my programmer isn't. And we wanted to make sure we both could have fun with it. And in turn, if we both can have fun with it, so can most people testing it. It would've been sad if people who don't play shmups get frustrated before they got to the boss we spent so much work on :p

This was fun! Didn't realise how it linked with the theme at first but once I did I thought it was an interesting trade-off between being stronger and having a higher score. I think this trade-off could possible be expanded more to give it more depth.

This is quite polished for a 48h game as well, I didn't encounter any bugs.

Trading your score for temporary damage is an interesting idea but I never felt too pressured to make that decision. Also since it seems to be impossible to actually die it also further incentivizes holding your shots when the cart detaches.

Yeah, they're not as great for the normal waves anymore sadly. There was a build where their spawns was more random, and using the cart to clear the screen felt like it could be more worth it.

On the other hand, if you noticed with the boss. It actually starts with a BossWaffle counter! So the faster you kill it, the more waffles you get from it. And especially with the rapidshots it delivers, you can easily mow through it with the cart.

But you're certainly right, it could've used a few more incentives on that. Thanks for the tip ♥

Hi Zeblackcat!

Your game is excellent! The visuals remind me of Nyan cat and the gameplay of Galaga, especially with the enemies spawning in patterns.

I thought the mechanic was really novel. You shoot away your precious waffles when you lose your cart! It's so unique. It's a heck of an arcade game, well done!

Some sticky syrup sounds would really make the game pop.

Really nice game! I didnt understand what was the linked until the boss, loved to see more levels or using the waffle wagon (?) whenever you want. Loved the aesthetics!

Have you tried shooting the waffle cannon? Yes it goes off your score, but it's powerful like heck!
