How does your game fit the theme?
The player has broken their bonds with paradise to find their soulmate, so they can be together again. But just as light and dark are always joined together, the player needs to remain in the shadows to avoid the holy light that seeks to make them join paradise again!

very neat i like it!.
Thank you!
Thank you! Intense was the feeling we wanted to convey, and smooth the controls we wanted to have! We're very keen to iterate the game, we'll see what the future holds!
I have just checked out yours now, and left a comment there ;)
Thanks for stopping by and giving our game a go!
Awesome entry!
My only complaint is that I want more levels!
Simple but effective mechanics, nice controls and difficulty curve.
Very nice little game, well done!
Thank you, you must be one of the few who didn't find the difficult curve too steep (which is a fair critique).
We might add some more levels in a future iteration, watch this space ;)
Really good use of the light/shadow system, makes the game look really nice! Glad you didn't pump this with post processing, the visuals are very well chosen. Short game and plot and straightforward mechanics make this a nice, quick play! Very well done!
Thank you! We're glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing!
very short but at least the levels that are there are very well designed
great work!
Thank you, we would have loved to make it longer indeed, but hopefully it showed enough what we meant to do with the idea.
Glad to hear you found the levels well designed! :3
Very neat, intense and cool! Wish had more levels and discover more.
Happy you found it intense, that was definitely what we were going for!
We wish we could have made more levels too! Maybe in a future update...
Thank you for playing!
This reminded me of those Ori levels. I had a lot of fun. Really well done!
We haven't played any of the Ori games (yet!), but are very much aware of the acclaim they have gotten, so the fact you are comparing our game to them means a lot! Thanks a lot!
what i really enjoyed the most is that there is some story behind the game (i think many games miss either story or introducing the story inside the game). so that was a huge plus from the beginning:) nice mechanics and it's interesting to pass levels. maybe it is a bit overstretching the theme, but i don't believe in restrictions - the most important is how game went out:) nice job!
Glad you enjoyed the short story, we made a point of including it in the game, even if it was a bit of struggle to do so before the deadline!
We tend to have more liberal interpretations of game jam themes, but agreed the hardest part is done: the game is out!
Thank you for playing!
this game is great! the style is really cute and I enjoyed playing it - thanks!
Thank you for playing, glad you liked it!
Don't know if it's really following the theme but nice levels and execution :)
Thank you, happy you liked the levels!
We believe the game follows the theme, though we'll admit it's maybe a more liberal interpretation!
Really smooth game, could be iterated in the future without a doubt.
Also, as some mentionned, the take on the theme might be a little off. I get the partner thingy, but the gameplay doesn't reflect something that says "linked".
Thank you for your feedback :)
Fair point regarding the theme. We were ideating on the join and together parts, the character would die if they join the light, white on white would mean they got absorbed back to heaven.
People have been so creative with the theme. I just cannot stop myself from playing the submissions! Seeing all the great games that have been made is the best part of the Jam !
Absolutely loved you game !
I see your point !
Thanks a lot, there are indeed tons of submissions I need to play as well !!
I'm honestly not sure if it sticks to the theme (apart from the story perspective). At the end, I was ready to re-navigate the levels but with my partner following me now.
Overall, it felt too short, I wish there'd be more levels. The escalation of difficulty also felt a bit steep, but you did a good job making everything work smoothly.
Thanks for the feedback! All fair points.
The initial idea was around light and darkness, which are always 'joined together', hence the monochromatic look and lighting mechanic, but I hear your point. This is why we also tried to incorporate the game jam's theme in the game's story/theme.
We're quite happy with our levels in that they showcase quite well what we had in mind – but I agree that the game could use maybe one or two additional levels between levels 1 and 2 to ramp up difficulty more progressively, and the same again between level 2 and 3. The balancing of game length and difficulty is always a challenge during game jams!
Thank you for playing, and making it to the end. And thanks again for the feedback, very much appreciated!
Great visuals, simple but nicely executed gameplay, fine sounds, ... Great job!
Thank you!
Smooth execution, everything works together really nicely!
Thank you!
It's like a stealth game, puzzle game and tight platformer combined into one.
Yes, that was the idea! :3
That's an awesome light and shadow mechanic! Great idea and perfect presentation of it~ Super neat entry to the jam! Please check out mine when you have time. :D
Hey thanks, that is very nice of you to say, we hope more people get to play our game, we really appreciate all feedback! :3
I have checked yours too now and left a comment there! Cheers!
I love the pure graphic and play style of that game. Using the shadow as a way to catch the player is very clever. Good job!
Thank you, that's very kind! :)
Cool art style. Well executed.
Thank you, very kind!
Bear in mind that the Mac build works fine when downloaded from the itch.io app, but for some reason the zip file downloaded straight from the page creates an app that can't be run!
We are unsure why this is. Sorry about that!
