How does your game fit the theme?
The Orblin is bound to The Orb, forever and ever and ever. Originally it was supposed to be a ball and chain and a prisoner, but it's morphed into what it is now over time.

Pretty Buggy but I really like the use of momentum, this would be really fun to speed-run if finished!
I have seen a lot of submissions with similar concept, but usually they were top down.
I like this a lot more then the rest of them. :D
Neat game.
Nice game! I've got some difficulties to use correctly the controls for my part but I've got some fun :)
That's a really good idea and really fun. I just hat 17 "deaths". Sounds reasonable. The overall concept and gameplay is really cool. The controls were a bit difficult and i accidentally threw the orb the wrong way because i did not really look at my mouse cursor. Some kind of indicator in which direction the orb flies would have been helpful.
Other than that i have nothing to complain about. Good Job! Keep it up!
Very fun game! cool mechanics and looks great! awesome work!
cool game! :3
Nice gameplay concept and cute world.
Really like the core concept of this game! There's a lot of things that can happen out of this. Such as when I discovered how to properly juggle the ball in order to infinitely jump.
I think the feeling of the platforming and physics could've been tighter. The jumping can feel floaty at times and the ball feels very heavy. Thankfully the game doesn't actually end you when you fail something so this thankfully doesn't end up impeding progress too strongly. Definitely still something I would've liked to see improved nonetheless!
Highlight of the jam for me so far
The "rope" physics work amazing, the way the mechanic is used are very unique, it's all pretty polished
I love that grabbing your ball mid air and throwing it again to double jump feels like a speedrunning technique yet you're actually supposed to do it. Reminds me of mario odyssey's "combos" too
this game is really fun! this game is not that hard too! the only thing lacking right now is background music.
Really satisfying mechanics! The implementation of the physics are really quite excellent, I know getting the feel on these things just right can be really tough.
Only wish it had more levels, and more of a progression in exploring the game mechanics! Hope to see this fleshed out even more!
Wow the game was really fun, definitely had a lot of thoughts and level designs went into it. Once I get hold of the slinging mechanic, it was just wild! I literally felt satisfying flying around the level, constantly feeling powerless and grabbing the ball to feel powerful again. Nice combination using hookshot as a weight! There was no sound though, which could really have toned up the mechanics.
Mechanics, art, and level design are perfect. The levels do a fantastic job of teaching you gradually, and the moment when you realise "woah, I can throw, catch, throw, repeatedly and basically fly?" is a really good momment. Nice one!
That was super fun, I was so excited when I found out you could grab the ball mid-air and toss it again in the second level - then I learned it was nessary for the later levels. Looks Great, and the controls are responsive. Some Indicating on when you are able up to pick up the ball and some sound effects for doing so would be a good touch. Overall fun and great game!
You make a good point about picking up the ball and sound effects - that's a super important part of the game to time right, and some additional visuals/audio cues to confirm would make it feel much more responsive. I'm shocked that I hadn't thought about that, it wouldn't have been too hard to implement!
was good until the vertical shaft and having to jump and throw, i could see what i needed to do but it was a bit janky and didn't work
Ah, this is a problem with playtesting the same game a lot - you just get too good at it!
Were you jumping and then also throwing? I noticed that without jumping, there isn't really enough momentum to go vertically upwards. If you weren't, I'd have to make it clearer earlier on. Otherwise, I might have to take another look at the physics.
Thanks for the feedback!
Love how this controls, the physics feels very satisfying and are also fairly forgiving I felt! Catching the orb in the air and tossing it again is tough, but it feels so great when you get it!
I really like this orb mechanic. It sometimes hard to control, but at least we cannot die :)
Wow, orb mechanic was really original and satisfying!
Also level design was well crafted, it checked your skill more and more.
Woops, I destroyed the world; that's some high-stakes orb-slinging! Very enjoyable main mechanic, would be cool with some larger levels to fling yourself around in.
I like this one.
The concept is fun; you throw a ball and then use it to haul yourself up ledges. The game has a good way of implementing this concept, and the only complaint I can think about is the lack of sprite animation.
