What I think makes this game special is its heavy emphasis on atmosphere. You do feel the weight of being tied down in a relationship constantly moving forward. With each overcoming of an obstacle feeling very rewarding. In that regard this game feels a bit like the game "It takes two".

Although I didn't have co-op I definitely think this might be a great co-op game. Maybe a bit more along the lings of "overcooked".

One of the things I do struggle with is a clear clash in game design in the following aspect. The objects in this game are designed in such a way that it feels very natural to avoid them, since you are chained together making contact would mean very naturally that you get stuck.

HOWEVER the people running clearly contradicts this entire statement. They are something you mustn't avoid and actively tangle down with the chain. Which is completely contradictory with the other objects.

Running people over does work as a game design mechanic, but needs more clear set up as to why you can run them over. This would make the introduction of this mechanic feel much more natural and less as a clash. As suddenly the thing that chains you together, also becomes your strongest weapon.

Really interesting game. Game design was not so special, but visuals were great and some "story/text fields" make some deph to it. I lack some checkpoints. But I have not seen much 3D games in game jams, so congrats.

A really beautiful game. What I appriciated was the sense of polish, and small details that you added that really heighted the experience. Infact I hate this game, because while I say "that will do", you clearly try and find little ways to polish the experience.

your game is so good that it makes me feel bad. Please tell me what you think of my entry starting with "not as good as our entry, but..."

Anthemic music made me lol, really loved the marriage of theme and mechanics. Fun and challenging!

This game is deep and emotional. I really liked the aestetics and actually got attached to the characters to the point of feeling sad when one of those asholes MPCs took my girl away... even the animation of the guy crying is sad. I got very, very emotional like Michael Caine

Great work, keep it up.

Cool themes and a really solid execution! The physics never went wonky, the enemy(?) destruction was really satisfying, the sound was nicely executed, and the visuals were really nice on the eyes and easy to identify!

I really liked this game, I feel adding adding respawns after each frame break between sections and then starting the player back requiring them to break a frame to re-enter the area would be really cool and take away the annoyance of slip ups and having to do all of it over again. However with a little bit more polish and more content this feels like a great game to do a more full release of post-jam!

Great job :)

Very good presentation and meaning! the mechanics are really well thought and I loved how narration helped to teach game mechanics! Awesome game!

Presentation was wonderful and the gameplay was really smooth. Really cool tie between the gameplay and the theme. Good job!

This game is really fun! Using the chain to kill enemies is exreamly satisfaying. Sadly, I had no friend to play with, but I still enjoyed it. The game is a bit laggy tho.

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback!
What are the specs on your PC? Should be able to increase the performance by 10X in the next update!

Submitted

intel i5 8gb and intel-hd.

it's not unplayable, it's just enough to be noticeable.

Developer(+1)

Oh that's a pretty good PC! Thanks for the feedback! I will improve performance

Shit, I just realized that too, this game was made to be played with someone, now im terribly sad LOL.

Thats depressing hahaha

It sucks that you have so few votes, your game is really nice.
Suggestion: try to put two invisible joysticks and test it on mobile, I think would be pretty nice.

Developer(+1)

Yeah need at least 100 votes i think to have a shot at the top 20.

That's a great suggestion! I'm actually a member of a 7 person hypercasual mobile game development studio. We will definitely try that version and test it out in the market :)

Great concept and amazing aesthetic, although lack of checkpoints between levels is brutal. Anyway, you did a really good job! :)

Developer(+1)

Hey thanks a lot! Yeah should have added check points :/ releasing an update with the fixes based on the feedbacks from the comments :)

The presentation is top notch :O It was fun dodging the "problems" and  "society" :D I liked the implementation of slow mo when stading  it gives you time to think when facing a new obstacle.

The only negative thing i can say is the game is unforgiving you should definetly add checkpoints :/

Other than that it was fun nice work :D

Developer

Hey thanks a lot for the feedback! Happy to hear these :)
Yeah started the jam 24 hours late, didn't have time for checkpoints - proper level design (each enemy type nicely introduced one by one along with various mixes of each) and proper game feel (better shatter FX + sound FX + people shattering to pieces etc.) - Combos & Fever mode.

Hope to finish this as a online 2 player multiplayer (each person controlling one person) + single player, if this gets to top 20 :)

I love the fun mechanics and cool art style! It was fun to play alone or with friend.
Nice Job!!👍👍

Really cool concept! Loved controlling both characters and running down all those dudes haha. The style reminds me of Catherine a lot -- really lovely.

Okay, I finally found time to play this one! And as I thought, it is incredible! Those titles like "Society" make this game very nice metaphore! I'd add a little screen freeze and sound on every collision with wall, but other than that - incredibly cool!

Developer

Wow! glad you played this! Thanks a lot for the feedback! Nice suggestions on the screen freeze and sound, I'll add

Great Art, looks promising as the starting section of an Action movie or Game.

BTW, Would love for you to try my game too.

It is an Action Platformer with unique controls.
