SO DOPE, loved the visuals

The game is overall pretty cool, but the art especially is amazing, the paper feeling is really well done and the music and sound effects fit the mood pretty well

Probably the best looking game of the jam that I've played so far :O

*adore* the hand-crafted art style the game has, and the tower offense mechanics are really solid! My only nitpick is that with how many tower offense games we got this jam, it doesn't feel like this stands out mechanically? The split path mechanic is definitely interesting, but it doesn't detract THAT much from the usual formula.

None of that is to call the game bad by ANY means though - I had an absolute blast playing this! ^^

Thanks for your comment!

I think you're right, the split path mechanic and the retreat mechanic could have been a bit more refined to give more strategic choices. Alas, we ran out of time! Maybe for a post-jam patch.

Amazing art work!!! I would give a hundred stars if I could. Soo good :)

The art is absolutely impeccable! Absolutely love the real photographs. The art is so consistent throughout with the graph paper and hand drawn aesthetic. I would love to see this further developed, more units and upgrades would add a lot of depth to it

Super impressive art-style, like seriusly! Sort of similar to my game actually, both being swaps on the tower-defense genre. Really liked it!

Very cool and cute! I like the art-style, the music, and the audio of the little troops and forts. I could not imagine a single person doing this, so I was somewhat relieved to know that you are a team of talent and not just a single person not sleeping for over 48hrs.

The only problem I have is that you can still retreat after all your troops are dead (which is a little funny when you think about it, but doesn't matter too much to me gameplay wise) and one time one of the troops stopped pathfinding and stood in place while all the others went on fighting, softlocking the game and forcing me to restart it (which I guess, in turn, means I get to play the game more).

I think this is a great interpretation of the Jam theme and could definitely see as a fully fledged out title. (Sorry for posting this twice).

Don't worry 😊 I answered you on the one on the page though. Thank you again for your feedback 🫶🏻

This is such a well executed idea! I love that you found a way in the gameplay to explain why you send your troops in waves and the art style is really good. Great submission!

Great idea !! The presentation is very nice and creative, bravo !

10/10 Amazing presentation. Great Gameplay, and lots of fun! Extraordinary!

Amazing entry, the art is great, the gameplay is fun, probably the best "reverse tower defence" game I've played this jam. I think the retreat mechanic could probably be a bit more interesting, I found that I mostly used it when i was on 0 carrots with no troops left, instead of having to strategically think about when I need to use it. That's a small nitpick though, overall this is a really great entry!

Art and sound direction is great! If the first level had some features removed (like only the sword buns) I think the game would feel a lot more polished. Other than that, This was a great experience!

Developer

Thank you for your nice comment!
Actually, you're right: initially, we wanted to remove some features for the first level. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the time for it.
