Super great interpretation of the theme. It took me a moment to get behind it, but then it becomes addictive as heck. I loved how you change roles every few seconds. For me it makes this game the most themed game!
Great, great game. Astounding art, fluid controls, and an interesting hook. I loved the details and polish like pausing time when the switch happens or the couple frames of grace right after a swap to not take damage. It was fun trying to balance between placing your towers to defeat all the bots while also trying to place them such that you could dodge them. At first I wanted a way to see how long before the switch would happen, but I honestly don't think it's necessary with that pause and grace period after the swap. Great submission!
I should say this is my favourite game I have played during the jam so far! The art, music and the gameplay really matched so well. And the concept of the game is amazing and there is a lot of potential for the further mechanics.
wow i love this concept, the art and animation are amazing as well! theres a really good feedback to the controls from the responsiveness of the programming and the juicy animations
Great game. I like how you constantly switch, makes it really stand out from others I've played. Although I would suggest adding a fast forward to the switch after placing towers as sometimes I sat for quite long with nothing to do.
This game is really well done. I love the balance between the dodging sections, and the tower defense sections. Having it be a build your own bullet hell is really fun, and because everything you do it to yourself, it leaves it feeling very fair. Sadly, I had my game completely lock up at 23600 points, but it was a fun time until then. Really well executed game with a great concept.
I'm sorry about the freeze bug! It has happened to a few other people, and myself as well, and my current theory is that it's a bug with the webgl exporter my version of Unity has.
Really simple and well-executed idea!
This game is really well-made and quite addictive, I've enjoyed replaying it.
Really fun, the difficulty could increase a little tho :D As you don't need to place any towers for a long time after the first few
This was a really cool submission.
I REALLY like how dynamic the role reversal is, changing from defense to dodging very actively, love the self balancing risk/reward aspect of the towers. The music, vfx and art are all top notch as well!
Really good stuff! My one critique is that it's a little boring after placing your towers and you're just sitting there watching for a good while. Other than that's it's a great game that feels great to play.
Great game, the graphics are amazing for such a short jam! Pixel-art fan too, the music and sfx are epic, really immersive game!
We had a similar idea to yours! I love the execution here with it becoming a bullet hell, though, that's super cool.
Nice one, I really like how you have to be careful to not be too strong :D Really unique. Got around 20k on my first try.
I really like this concept. Though I did feel like it might have been a bit too... easy? I found that I could place a few towers around my fire and I was never in any danger. Then when I controlled a fire, I could always dodge the same few towers since I never placed any more down. That said, still think it's a solid game!
What a cool idea! Most of the games I played in this jam permanently reversed the roles, but this game switches back and forth, which is really fun and challenging. The better you do in one role, the harder you encounter in the other role. love it!
Nice game, rated it like you asked. I liked the presentation, very simple and appealing. Cool gameplay, bit confusing tho. Nice submission
It's fun to play and feels very polished! It's surprisingly intense too - since you have to be so careful about your tower placements, all while enemies are coming towards you.
Great job!
Wow! I'm amazed by how good your game feels!
