A really good game with interesting gameplay and nice art. But i think that it would be good to be able to sell monsters for meat, because when you make a mistake sometimes the only option is to restart. But overall a great game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for feedback!

Yeah, someone else also suggested this idea, and honestly... Yeah, it would be a great addition!

Absolutely love the minimalist pixel art style, as well as the gameplay. I really like how the monsters all interact with each other. I can definitely see this turned into a full-size mobile game later on

Developer

Thank you!

I'm glad that you enjoyed the game!

i had a lot of fun playing this! it's very interesting that with almost all of my strategies, they were either

1. enough to beat the warrior
2. just one under

it's interesting seeing how they all interact with each other. i found that zombie + slime + slime + slime actually works very well, and i progressed very far with that. although, it would help to have examples for or more clear descriptions of the "enemy" types. but this was very nice!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for feedback!

You raise a fair point with enemy descriptions. I especially think, that Boulder Guy would need a better explanation (I know at least one person, who was confused by what it's supposed to do)

I'm glad that you've enjoyed this game!

I really like the visuals, especially the transition effect. The gameplay itself is quite simple but enjoyable.

Thank you!

Extremely fun and highly polished! I had a great time strategizing which of the unique monsters to use, though you can quite easily be forced to reset by picking the wrong monsters. Oh and I love the "It's almost like he levels up or something" haha

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

Thank you!

Yeah, part of game's strategy comes from the fact that you need to carefully choose new monsters, if you want to win. It's like a rouge-like, where you're normally not expected to win on your first try, but you can still learn from failed attempts.

I'm happy to see that you enjoyed the game! (As well as that little joke I made in the description :) )

Awesome game. Loved the art and the sound. Only problem is the balance, some monsters are really bad and some (zombie) are extremely strong

Developer(+1)

Thanks for feedback!

Yeah, balancing is by far the main issue of the game. The zombie thing somehow slipped under my radar...

I'm glad that you enjoyed the game though!

zomb op

Developer

Yeah, Zombie is OP...

Too bad I didn't realize it soon enough...

Submitted(+2)

The game is just so close to perfection! All I'd say is to be able to sell monsters back for half the price would be totally needed, cause otherwise you can just get stuck on smth like lvl 13 with no option but to reset

Developer

That... Actually is a pretty neat idea, and I'm surprised I haven't thought of it lol. (Maybe it's because monster buying used to cost 1 meat and you got less meat overall, and then I spent quite some time finetuning the balancing. Which eventually ended up in making meat a bit easier to obtain, which also required to adjust the prices...)

Thank you for valuable feedback!

This was an extremely fun game to play

The pixel art was beautiful and cute

Didn't find any flaws, but if possible I think it would be better to deduct the meat after a new monster is received because sometimes we might not want a monster

Developer

Thanks for feedback!

Yeah, as mentioned below, if you buy monster, you just HAVE to go with it. That concept should honestly have been revised a bit more...

I'm still happy to see that you enjoyed the game!

Fun! I love the wide range of little critters you can get and of moves the knight can use! Minimalist art styles always strike a cord with me and arranging monsters in the best sequence possiblereally feeds my stereotypically autistic brain.
As for critique... the knight gains moves throughout the game, but since they're kept for the rest of the levels it's not really worth strategizing around. By the end he has so many of them that any individual one doesn't really matter.
The game also kinda hits a gameplay plateau when you get your fifth and last monster slot since you can't really improve your team beyond maybe swapping in a few marginally better characters.

Developer

Thanks for extensive feedback!

To be fair, balancing was by far the biggest challenge, when working on this game... There were multiple ideas on now to improve it, but I couldn't really find anything that would actually work.

Glad to see you enjoying the game though!

I really enjoyed the mechanics of this game, I liked building up my party of monsters to take on the player as they got stronger, and the art is really nice! I ran into a bug on day 11 though, no matter what I did the player wouldn't die even though it showed they had no health left. Still an enjoyable experience!

Developer

Thanks for feedback!

That was most likely a visual bug. This late into the game, player has a lot of health, much more than merely 8 pixels can show. This could've been an easy fix, now that I think about it...

Glad that you enjoyed the game nonetheless!

I really like this game! the mechanics are nice, and the puzzle elements are well-designed! the sound and art is so satisfyingly put together. I dislike how discouraging losing a battle is, and the fact that it's a puzzle makes it make no sense how you can lose your progress (because you can just remember the solutions to previous fights), anyhow, great game overall!

Developer (1 edit)

Looser, I actually removed the losing meat part before uploading this, losing the battle is no longer discouraged.
Still, thanks for feedback and I'm glad that you enjoyed it!

Submitted

Oh my bad, I assumed this is the same game from the playtest, if that's removed, then I have no gripes with the gameplay, Solid 10/10

I got stuck on one of the later levels and no matter what combination I tried I seemed to end up getting the warrior down to 1 or 2 health. But up to that point it was pretty fun and I like the graphics.

Developer (2 edits)

Thanks for feedback!

Yeah, it does involve a little bit of luck as well as a bit of experience with all units available. But if you pick right units to counter the warrior, all days will eventually be conquered!

But I see what you mean there

I played this for far too long! Love it!

The balance you've struck despite having many moving parts is incredible. I will  say though, having the inability to back out from the buy creature dialogue fouled up one of my runs where I misclicked on it. I understand its part of the strategy, but I don't think its necessary given the balance already struck across everything else.

Really well built and very compelling. Excellent!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for such feedback!

You're right, I should've though a bit more of how buying creatures works, I'm sorry to hear that it ruined your run...

But I'm glad that you enjoyed the game nonetheless!

No need to apologies, it fouled one of several runs I did & each was more fascinating than the last.

Really nice strategy game! I thoroughly enjoyed playing and picking out which monsters would be best

Holy smokes, this feels like a fully fledged game. I'm very impressed.

I spent way to much time on only one entry

Developer

Haha, yeah, this game can get quite addictive
