Really great submission! reminds me of line rider!

Line rider didn't ring a bell so I checked it out... and what a nice surprise!

At its core it's a super simple game but the drawing mechanics are very refined. It is such an elegant design, and much more enjoyable than our game too.

Thanks for pointing it out!

I have a very good experience testing this game, and it's nice to see other ways of working on the concept of road making. Good job.

Thanks so much, i'll go check your game too!

I figured out the hard way that it's better to draw the road during the ride, not before :D.

Interesting idea nonetheless! Good job!

Very creative! had a fun time playing! Really felt like the game was well polished

Even though it's a bit hard to draw smooth roads, it doesn't make the game unbearable, it's one of the best games here!

So nice of you to say that! Thanks so much :)

I think it's a really fun concept that is, for the most part, executed wonderfully! The graphics are a 5/5 and audio is great as well; the only thing making the actual playability frustrating is the smoothness of the lines. I can draw a shape that models a perfect trajectory from one point to another, but due to the car's suspension (or lack thereof) and minuscule arbitrary changes in the mouse/camera position making the curve jagged, the playthrough might be ruined! It feel "wrong" to have this motor vehicle be stopped by the tiniest bump in the road. That said though, I think with some very small tweaks to how these two aspects of the game, this could an incredibly fun experience! Great job :D

Thanks for your detailed comment!

The smoothnesss of the road seems to be a recurring comment from players, and we definitely agree that is is an issue. Sometimes, even despite the player’s efforts, the line is jagged and any little step stops the car on the spot, which is definitely not what we wanted.

We think that these little unwanted steps in our line drawing are the biggest issue, rather than the car’s suspension. The cars do have suspension by the way, but as you said it definitely needs some tuning.

We are working on a fix and will surely upload an update when the rating period is over :)

I was reading the game page after playing a little and I had no idea that you were meant to build in the play phase that so crazy haha, its like a 2 in 1 game, you can plan it out from a distance and try do perfect lines or do it fast and crazy haha! I was originally going to say camera control would be good, though less relevant now in the zoom out stage it might be cool to look around still. Fun game!

(1 edit)

Yep, we expected everyone to go for the “fast and crazy” in-game line drawing, but it turns out most of you started drawing beforehand!

I have to admit that it was unexpected, but if you have fun it also works for us!

I'm one of the people who can't remember whether the next pickup point be higher or lower, so being able to draw before starting is a nice way to make a visual guide for me to know if I'm on the right track or not. Fun game! I only wish the vehicles have a better suspension or the lines are smoothen because a tiny bump seems to stop the vehicle completely, which is why the monster truck level is my favorite one!

Thanks for the feedback, so glad that you enjoyed the game!

Since you are not the first to point this out, we are working on implementing a few tweaks to make the game more playable. Mainly regarding the suspension physics, smooth road drawing & an arrow system that indicates where the next checkpoint is.

If everything goes right we hope to have those ready for the end of the rating period, and we will also include some more visual polish !

Fun!

Beautiful art! Super fun game. I was also one of the people who thought you were meant to set it up before hitting play hehe. I found that drawing on the go worked very well, though. The bus level was crazy. Good job!

Submitted(+1)

I liked your game, the art was good and the controls were nice. Took me until the last round to notice you could place road while playing.

Submitted(+1)

Really liked your game I found the art and sound great ! Took some time to understand that you could draw the road after having pressed start but otherwise great job, well done !

It’s a very well made game, graphics are really cool it could be a mobile game.

and the controls feels great when you’re a little bit used to have smooth curves,

Visuals crisp, nice!  The lounged music fun. The only thing I miss during the gameplay is a zoom out.  On my wish list would be and erase, cause I didn't draw very straight and would get stuck.

Fun game. The driving of the monster truck was a bit aggressive (he flipped at the start), and then I needed to draw the roads again. Also found a bug you can draw when in playmode.

Hey glad you liked it!

To be honest we expected players to draw exclusively when IN PLAYMODE... the zoomed out view is just supposed to be there so that you can see the level beforehand.

It turns out you are not the only one who started drawing before pressing start, most of our friends did too, so it's a mistake on our side for not being clear

Nice game. Visuals and music are top. The only thing I miss during the gameplay is a zoom out

Submitted(+1)

It is visually pleasing. My one major complaint is that there's no zoom in/out option, I can't really see if my paths link up properly.

Great game- the background art reminds me of Kurzgesagt!

That's exactly what we were going for! a simple Kurzgesagt artstyle with geometric shapes : )

Submitted(+1)

love the art style!

Found y'all from your cool screenshots and had to try it out. Had a great time! My only complaint is that sometimes its a big hard to see where the road connects to the ground, so I had a few times when the car collider would get stuck between the road and the ground.  This is expected, I just wish I could get a clearer/zoomed in image of the connecting point between my road and the little islands.

Also, a way to restart your level without losing allllll your roads would be great! Maybe a way to erase roads too to fix little errors? Honestly, this is a fun base of a game!

Hey,  glad you liked it and thanks soooo much for the feedback!

Believe it or not we are aware that progression within levels still needs work, since we had the same problems while playtesting it. Sometimes you feel like a ground column comes out of nowhere even though you try and memorize the level.
