Wow, this is a fantastic concept. The full voice acting was excellent, the music fit the energy of the game really well, the puzzles were really well-crafted, and the platforming felt buttery-smooth.
The extra level of polish with the audio/visual feedback for every action made it feel so good to play. I wanted more levels! But being able to make myself a silly hat was a good consolation prize for the game being over :)
I hope you’ll keep working on this after the jam, you have something special here.
Hey, thanks for playing! I'm glad even the platforming felt good, it would be a real bummer if that would be something that held the game back. I think sound effects are something that a lot of people overlooks but I made sure to add that important piece of polish. I'm going to make a paid full steam release eventually, I just need to finish my current long time project first. In the meantime you can check that out on steam! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2434720/Maces_and_Dices/
Wow! This game is amazing. Everything is so well done! Voice acting, music, coding minigame. You even created a working sprite maker! This is without a doubt the best submission I've played so far. I especially enjoyed the coding minigame. It was just hard enough to get you thinking, but not so hard that you couldn't beat it. The jokes were fantastic too (the one with no gravity is my favorite one). Incredible submission!
The gravity joke was actually what inspired me to continue in the direction the project went in. I felt that idea of that jokes was just too good to not make something out of. Glad you liked it!
I believe this is one of the top and most polished games in the jam (I won't say that it is the best, because every time I say that, I somehow find a better or comparable game), It's polished, fun, meta and with voice acting too!
Letting players help to code by solving puzzles and help with drawing the sprite encouraging the player's creativity is very well integrated inside the context of the game. And wow, this game is just created in under 48 hours, that's absolutely crazy, and a well-done job.
Thanks for playing, glad you liked eveything!
This was probably the best game I've played in this jam so far. I loved the voice acting and the puzzle design was very good, if a bit easy. I'd liked to have seen a bit more development of the mechanics, especially the timer in the puzzles. In the one puzzle that does involve the timer, the puzzle can be easily solved without actually using it. I liked the music and the visuals. The humour was good too. Overall, really great game, well done.
Thanks a lot! I have a bunch of ideas for further expansion and I will do a full paid steam release eventually. I knew about the timer puzzle issue but didn't have the time to fix it sadly, thanks again for playing!
Max stars all the way. I was impressed by the voice acting and puzzles. But then I was blown away by the in game sprite editor. Really really great stuff!
Thanks a lot! When I turn this into a full steam release I'll make sure you never know what's coming next, just like the sprite editor suprised everyone
That was really fun! The sprite editor adds a really nice touch and makes the world feel like it comes alive!
Thanks for playing! I thought about the game needing more color so I made the player do it themselves
Oh wow, I have no idea how you managed to do all this in such a short time! Fun game, I enjoyed the puzzles. Having to draw some sprites is a nice touch
Thanks for playing! The sprite editor actually only took around one hour to implement so I'm glad I added it.
One of the best jam games that i ever played! really clever idea and execution.
Thank you so much for playing!
This was a great experience! Wonderful game!
Glad you liked it!
This is one of the games were I kept playing a lot. Enjoyed a lot the gameplay, the graphics and the interpretation of the theme. Well done.
Thanks for playing! The sprite editor kind of adds some replayability even, atleast a bit of extra playtime for those who like drawing
Really enjoyed playing this one. Don't usually like meta humor all that much but it was done well here.
I'm glad the humor fitted your taste
Dang, that's so fun! xD
I loved the voice acting, it really adds a lot to the gameplay lol. It's amazing how you could pull all that up in such little time *-*
Plus, I'm so curious: Were you doing the congrats level at the last hour of the deadline for real? haha
Amazing game, awesome job!
Thanks for playing! The ending is 100% genuine lol, although I managed to add the hat thing and decorate the victory room during the extended hour, without it, it would have been boring for real.
This is the top 20. Creativity on the take of the theme, the puzzles are challenging and well-designed. The mechanics of letting players draw enemies and puzzles are fun ways to let the player "code" the game. Not to mention the funny storyline and smooth basic movement.
The only picky point IMO is the learning curve of puzzles needs to adjust a little bit. For sure the last one should be the hardest, but since it introduced new mechanics, it is better to let the player have fun with it first and then put it on a hard level although it is simple enough to understand it quickly.
Also pls rate my enemies and the crown (not the flowers plz)
Thank you so much for playing! That are some amazing flowers for sure. The last puzzle was kind of rushed together so that's the reason for the odd difficulty curve.
Holy cow I'm blown away. This level of polish is insane for 24 hours and I absolutely love the puzzle aspect. Of course I wish there were more levels, and more mechanics but thats always possible post jam! Really really great job, top 20 for sure!
Thank you so much for playing! I'm very likely gonna turn this into a full steam release as soon as I finish my current project from last year. You can check that out if you want too: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2434720/Maces_and_Dices/
Definitely an excellent game. Almost all good for me, plus it's from my favorite game genre. Maybe I would improve the music, but that is just my personal taste. Good job!
Thanks for playing it on the stream, you made the time I spent on subtitles 100% worth it.
The game is just incredible. The best one ive played so far. Amazing graphics., sfx, Stunning and hard puzzles, I cannot say more. Its just the perfect winner for the jam.
Thank you so much for playing! Glad you liked it
How the hell did you finish this thing within 48 hours?? I am speechless.. 100/100 game
Thanks for playing! I even missed 6 hours of the jam since I had to be on a family event. That extra time would have been used for some bugfixing and atleast one new mechanic, but it turned out great even with the limited time.
Well Done! I really enjoyed playing it and I am impressed on what you have made in such little time.
Thanks for playing! I was super stressed out in the end
Same here
i absolutely love games that let you customize stuff, so i found the whole experience very enjoyable. the visuals, the puzzle, the narration, i loved all of it and had an amazing time
Thanks for playing!
Very interesting idea of coding puzzle, liked it, funny! Also nice art :)
I'm happy you found it fun!
