Fun little arcade game!
Not really sure why movement had to be tied to the WASD keys, though. I personally would have enjoyed moving the circle as my cursor. Then I'd only have to use the mouse!

How does your game fit the theme?
We tried to use the mouse wheel as diegetically as possible to increase and decrease the player size to interact with the enemies

Cool game ! I love when arcade games have voices like that. I felt like the placement of the player was not generous enough to flow well most of the time. Especially for the faster balls.
Very fun and interesting idea with the scroll wheel! Audio and visuals were great! I liked this a lot, but drunken haze killed me every time.
A really simple yet cool interpretation of the theme! I think it really scratches a similar itch to rhythm games in a way (maybe beat saber with the blue/red tiles requiring left/right hand), and I had a lot of trouble once the circles started to move faster. I could see myself spending time trying to build up skill if the difficulty curve were a bit more gradual :)
The style and visuals are very cool. I love the idea but it was kind of hard to get the hang of, at times it felt like it might play better with the mouse controlling the movement or some key controlling scale. I'm not sure if this is due to my setup or what but the controller controls didn't really work for me. It would get the moving but not the triggers, but based on the keyboard and mouse gameplay I do feel like the controller would be really good to use.
Good work!
Cool game. I absolutely love the style. It's really well done and I love all the voicelines and visual effects and everything. The gameplay is interesting. The concept is creative but it's a bit hard to position the wheel properly. There are times when it seems like it should work but it's off center so it doesn't do anything. Also, the drunk effect was almost a guaranteed run-ender. But it was still pretty fun once I got the hang of it.
Overall, great job!
What a great game! It's a really creative take on the theme, has EXCELLENT art and audio feel, has of nice arcade-y features.
Stuff that I think may use improvement: Not much, honestly. I think the game just has one glaring issue - the scroll input needs to have a sensitivity toggle. It seems to be tuned to the mice used during development, and that makes the game a little frustrating to play (we've kind of used a this idea in our own game).
All in all, lovely stuff! Good luck!
It’s super stylish!! If the size-changing controls were done with buttons instead of the scroll wheel, I think I could have played it for even longer.
We experimented with different control schemes and the scroll wheel felt the most natural (but we might have mouse that are too high end)
We can probably set up a button remapping menu after the voting period is over, the game jam time was what it was and we didn't have time to implement it
(but right now if you download it and use a controller it should work with the shoulder button, if you play it as a non-steam game you can remap the controls yourself to anywhere on the keyboard, it's not the best but I hope this kind of helps)
Loved the look and feel of the game. Simple concept and very fun to play!
Perhaps the scaling can be adjusted for a single scroll up and down? Like I use my finger to scroll up/down twice or thrice in some cases and so it's a bit difficult for me to keep up with the moving enemies and by the time I scale appropriately the enemies are out of range. (Perhaps that's a skill issue on me xD or perhaps that's the intended difficulty otherwise it'd be too easy.)
Druken mode was a bit difficult for me as it messes the controls (but then perhaps the enemies can be moving slower?) I tried to keep the count of enemies below 10 unfortunately couldn't. Solid game!
gosh, it reminds me my old time at arcade !
Realy cool concept, simple but sharp !
CRT effet and voice acting are on point!
great job !
Really cool game!
The mechanic is clever and I the modifiers are really fun as well.
Congrats!
Very creative and fantastic style, but very hard to control, felt very random wether something would kill an enemy or not. Very good looking game though.
Creative interpretation of the theme. Feels good to play, little challanges give game fresh feel and make it not so static.
Give enemies little big bigger colliders, for example I was really close to one enemy, but I wasn't able to kill him (see picture above).
But otherwise nice game and well polished.
Very cool! I like the concept but sometimes the expanding or crushing feels rather precise for the movement scheme. Since you expand and shrink with the mouse wheel, I almost feel like a better control scheme would have been for the character to follow the mouse or something instead of moving with WASD.
Drunken Haze is incredibly brutal and ended up killing me on my attempts. Very fun otherwise though, and I love the aesthetic!
A pretty fun time with some really tangible controls in the scroll wheel! The audiovisual direction really works. Nicely done.
I'm so bad at this haha but the mechanics are quite original and it feels very polished with the effects and progression
