That was a cute game, actually pretty tricky lol I didn't make it very far! But the theme & concept were cool.  I had trouble with the bricks and once you pick them up you cant put them back down or change the orientation. But you made a game in less than 4 days and thats awesome, i can imagine it being pretty fun as a mobile game cos of the vertical aspect of the game.

Would greatly appreciate if you could take the time to play and rate our game before the time is up: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2024/rate/2914018

Thanks in advance!

This was super fun, gorgeous pixel art! One thing I would suggest is putting an 'abandon' button so that if you mess up your placement you're not stuck waiting a minute to try again.

You can press 'R' to restart the building phase :)

Oooh ok, thanks!

fun game! adding leaderboards was really good idea, makde me play and replay trying to beat the best players (didn’t do great tho) great job!

The art and music are amazing, no idea how you made most of them in 48 hours. The concept is also great. I really have no problems, besides that being able to swap between building and jumping could be useful, but I can see how that can break things in the game.

Thanks! We had two people dedicated to art the whole time, we didn't even end up using everything they made 😅. We did consider making swapping between building and jumping possible but then people could place one block at a time which would make it far too easy.

Made it to #9 on the leaderboard!! I loved the way your highest score stays retained and how it got visually shook whenever you beat it. (also such a blessing that falling in my own design didn't hurt my score... )I thought the mechanic of trading off build time vs jump time to be very clever and fun. I have no one to blame but myself! Awesome job!!

Glad you enjoyed it! This is so crazy to us because earlier this month two of us were referencing your DotA parody videos from yearrsss ago haha

Super fun! Minor nitpick might be having a separate building phase and jumping phase(?) since I spent my entire first run just building lol-- still fun though! I managed to get #4 on the dailies @ 64.72, but I have no idea how the people on the all time leaderboard are putting up those crazy numbers! Aside from that, if you have the time, I'd appreciate if you also took a look at my game!

I liked how it had me creating my own problems, which I would then have to deal with!

Really fun although based on the leaderboard I am not very good lol - and thats after like 5 trys. I might come back when I have my mouse and am not using a trackpad.

the music fits the game to a tee and i really like the art style as well! the gameplay is definitely challenging at first but becomes quite fun once you get the hang of it. great job!

Interesting setup.

Very nice! I like the style a lot. I also like how you must balance the placement phase with the scaling phase. Very interesting idea.
