How does your game fit the theme?
The game combines both musical and physical scaling. Players must collect music notes in a specific order, with each note affecting their size—comparing with the last note a player collects/starting pitch, higher notes scale the player up, while lower notes shrink them. The challenge lies in navigating both the music scale and the physical scale to match the player's size with the final door. In the last level, I also introduce a weight scale mechanic, but I couldn't fully explore it due to time constraints, as this is my first game beyond tutorials.

the art style is really good, simple but elegant. The colliders to interact should be a bit bigger, but still enjoyable :)

Thanks for the kind words!

very pretty game! shame that the controls are a bit clunky but overall a good experience

Developer

Glad to that you enjoyed the visuals! for the next game jam maybe I should just make a game focusing on slippery characters  (facepalm)

Love this idea. When it clicked for me it was such a beautiful aha moment. So cool. I'll echo that the movement feels kind of strange, and I did run into the bug you described

I like the graphical style and the idea itself!  The platforming comes off kinda weird to me me but I cant really put a finger on what it is about it.

Developer

Thanks for playing and glad to hear that you enjoy the idea and graphics! The acceleration was a bit too slow and the player also don't come to a stop quick enough when the input stops. I'm frustrated with it too and plan on spending some time after the jam figuring out how to write a good character controller :)

I love the graphics of this game,  also puzzles were quite fun to play, great job! :))

Thank you for the kind words! Glad you had fun :D Any tunes sounded familiar to you?

Submitted

Those are very familiar sounds, I just don't remember where I heard it xD

Really great idea ! and the puzzles are well done. May be the character movement is a little bit slippy and quite difficult to handle. Great Job overall !

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! And yah given the number of comments here on the character control... if I ever make a game with platforming involved I'd definitely try to nail that first :D

Submitted

Amazing! i love the idea, (although the characer feels really slippy and hard to control)

Very cool visual, it's neat ! I had some issues understanding the order/goal we need to pick notes in order to complete the level. Well done for finishing the jam 🥳

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Match the scale of the player and that of the door, the weight of the total notes collected with the number on the bottom right, and hit the right number of notes collected (as marked on the bottom right) :D

An interesting take on the theme, that's for sure. Some puzzles were tricky, but I enjoyed it!

Very cool idea, Some levels where quite hard, had to trail & error them. I also like the visual style you guys chose! :)

Developer(+2)

Here I am worrying the game is too easy hah. Guess this proves what Mark has said about making puzzle games—never assume your player will figure it out and think you're a horrible developer & person lol.

And thank you for the kind words on the visual! I'm a solo team making my first game that's not just following a tutorial so I sorta had to pick a style that I felt that I had the highest chance in making it look decent :D

Conceptually very cool! Finding the solution to the puzzles is quite cryptic, though. The second level has at least two solutions when talking about matching the character's size, but only one of them is valid. Is this because the order you collect the notes has to be a specific sequence? I got stuck on the fourth level, too, with a similar situation where I "solved" the puzzle with the correct size, but I must have collected the notes in the wrong order. Some kind of hint about the correct melodies would have been nice. I noticed an icon in the bottom right that changed as I collected notes, but I wasn't sure what it was supposed to represent.

Nonetheless, this puzzle game has potential. Neat idea!

Sorry you ran into that bug!! The intent is to allow multiple pathways work but I think I accidentally broke the implementation of that while fixing another bug in the last few hours of the jam :( Glad to hear you enjoyed the idea!

Cool CRT aesthetics! Love the style

I liked the graphics and concept.  I always enjoy game jam games where you have to stop and think about what path to take through a level.

Developer

Thank you! Hope you had fun figuring out why everything was happening in the game!

Submitted

Core concepts are very strong. As others have said, more snappy controls and precise platforming would be a nice improvement, but the ideas and implementation are strong here overall!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words!

Super cool aesthetic, thanks for making this!

A little bit confusing but I can see where you're going with the idea.  Also the second level didn't let me pass, I was the same height as the exit and I collected all the notes so I'm not sure if I played it wrong. And like a couple others said make the controls a little tighter or less slippy. I'm an impatient person LET ME GET TO THE NEXT NOTE.  It's a unique game idea :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Did the door change color at all?

Submitted

I don't think so, plus I didn't see a little interact icon pop up.

Nice art and sound design!

I didn't figure out the logic behind the notes? Why do they change the way they do?

Developer

Depending on the note you just picked up/started the level with, if the note you're about to pick up is higher you'll scale up and vice versa!

Really nice art style!

Conceptually and visually this game is stunning, my only wish is for the controls to feel a bit tighter.

I wish the controls were a little tighter, but I like the concept!
