Cool idea, and the presentation is really slick, but man this is hard! Getting the super-jump (with flames and all) seems to need pixel-perfect timing, and since you not only have to use the mouse to jump, but also to set the direction of the jump, it's super hard to get two perfect jumps in a row. I love the concept though, and it's super satisfying when you do manage to get it right :D
Wish I could get past the tutorial, landed several perfects right beneath the crystal but nothing happened, really dig the presentation, animation and the rest, seems very polished.
Cool concept, I love the Wii Sports "Nice Job". I'm just very very bad at it haha
really nice music and sound effects! the game was really hard, but i guess we have that in common :)
loved the little voice lines after a super jump, too!
So well polished! Smooth movement and complete system!
The ambience is so well made. I like this kind of games, relaxing and cheerful.
The difficulty curve. I can see it's a little harsh but I really like it. Open the door. Find the treasure
( I think I see the magnet game in it lol
Nice and fun but the delay (after the click not the cooldown) to spawn the circle is really annoying
updating after reviews to remove that pesky time delay
Very polished game, controls are hard to master but pleasant once understood, cool game
Everything feels really good, what I think makes the jumping so difficult or annoying at times is because you don't exactly know when the circles are gonna appear and when it's going to go into slow motion. If you play the game long enough you start to understand the pattern but it takes long enough that people might get annoyed.
If you lower time between the click and the circles it will obviously cause problems. So a possible solution could be to just increase the size of the outer ring so that it goes into slow motion the second you click the mouse but it takes longer to reach the center. You would also change it so that the outer edge still doesn't do anything if you let go immediately. So if you spam click you fall down still. Not sure if something like this would work.
It's worth a shot!
I could not leave the first screen. The game says to land a super jump on the crystal. I jumped through, on, around, and under that crystal but could not seem to make anything happen. Eventually I was forced to give up.
After reading some comments I tried again and finally got it to sort of work, but found it frustrating enough that I gave up again. The game needs better feedback about when to jump. Right now spamming jump over the crystal feels like it just doesn't work rather than Me being the one doing something wrong.
I needed to add a better way to let you know when a super jump is going to happen. As of right now the best advice I can give you is there's a red triangle under the character when you start to charge a jump. If it's over something you'll do a super jump. Line it up with the crystal and there you go
I love the little bit of screenshake/timestop when you pull off that jump! This game is really hard for me, but I can definitely see how someone else would be ready to sink hours into this.
Very cool movement mechanic, unfortunately also quite frustrating. Getting a perfect jump is really difficult and anything less than that isn't enough to keep moving upwards, with a bit of fine tuning this could be awesome though
I can see a bit of potential in this game, but right now I’m not a fan of the little cooldown you have between each jump, I feel it could be a bit smoother if that gets lowered a bit.
The time between having a good jump with the green circle and overshoot it and get a bad jump, feels tight, after some minutes you can get more great jumps, but I feel it’s too punishing of being “late” for that little of time, maybe a bit of more tolerance would be good or maybe the closer to the green circle, greater the jump is and not too much just good and bad jumps.
One thing I noticed is when you go to the main menu and start again the game, the player can’t move until the pause menu is pressed again.
I like the visuals and the little text that tells you that you did a good jump, the movement in the ground feels good or it actually fits the character you are using, so that is a plus.
Also I like the interpretation of the theme, a show that is popular and it’s about scaling the obstacles to reach the end, but I won’t be able to reach the finish because probably skill issues haha.
I want to play more because I like this kind of hard game but right now, for me, I don’t feel it’s in a place where I want to try a lot and get good at it. Also, this gimmick of using the mouse to control the direction of the jump could be a bit better if it’s added a bit of slowmo to lessen the difficulty of aim while tracking the height of the jump or add a visual trajectory to see more clear where I'm aiming to.
But I liked parts of what I saw in this game, I see in the description you will keep polishing the game, good luck with future updates! :D
Nice game but can you explain how to go past the tutorial? I'm kinda stuck on the jump pad :(
Yeah, I'm sorry, I didn't leave a lot of room for error. What you have to do is jump from the ground right beneath it then immediately land another jump on it straight up then move to the right
very satisfying movement, good work!
I have no patience for this kind of game but if i didn't have a skill issue i would probably enjoy this
I like the concept, style and polish, but it's very difficult! Or maybe I'm just bad haha.
Super fun game, love the pixel art, animations, sfx. I am bad at it
Loved the pixel art & animations. Very clean.
Fun game, jump king style.
But I feel like the theme is missing.
There's definitely a ton of potential here! I really love the movement mechanics and the juiciness of getting a perfect timing. The only problem is, I think right now it's a bit difficult for a first time player to pick up and get into, it's definitely a game that needs mastery to get the most out of the experience,. The solution to that, I guess is really up to you, but to me at least, the timings seemed quite punishing if you were late, which stopped a lot of the momentum and lost a lot of progress, so maybe giving a little more leeway would be nice.
That being said, there's so much promise, and I'm excited to see the direction this goes!
Really good stuff :D
Such a great concept and could easily see this developed into a full game! Really love the little robot, so cute!!
