The game is really fun and cute, the SFX, the lego pieces are amazing. The name of the game fits the game really well, well done ! It is sometimes difficult to find some enemies though.
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I will implement an indicator where enemies are in the next update. I really appreciate you :)
Good idea, but it stays a bit from the theme. I enjoyed playing but I also suck and couldn't survive for more than like 2 minutes.
Yeah, there's definitely balancing problems right now. I will work on that in a future update. Thanks for the feedback!
I love the idea and controls are also super fun. i wish there were more block types though and the enemies didnt appear so quickly but there was some indicator. overall the best "your character gets bigger" ive played
Damn, what a compliment. Thank you! I will definitely implement more blocks and an indicator in the future. Thanks for playing.
WOW
Very cool concept (makes me think of Robocraft), and the visuals are really neat, this is a great execution of the theme, well done :) This could definitely be an online games!
It's just a bit hard to find enemies, and sometimes I encounter a monster with 20 pieces and 10 guns and I have like 1 gun and one speed block 😂
Yes, you can definitely get run over by bigger enemies in the beginning. Something I need to balance in future updates. I loved playing robocraft a few years ago, so I'll gladly take that as a compliment.
PS: It would be awesome to make an online game out of this.
Thanks for the feedback!
Using legos is a super cool idea! It's really fun to build your machine!
The only problems are the ui behind the machine and finding enemies.
Would love to see more pieces being added!
Note: bad idea to run into other machines.
Haha. Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah, I plan on adding an indicator of where enemies are currently in the next update.
Also, new blocks would be awesome. I actually want to implement one that can be used to just brutally crash into enemies and run through them. I think that might be fun. ^^
Thanks for playing my game!
I love the idea + the game . I love the mechanics , aesthetics everything . I did face one bug though , after I died , I got stuck . I reloaded the game . That's the only issue I found prominent . Otherwise love the idea and effort .
Best of luck :)
Yes, a lot of people have already told me about that. I sadly didn't encounter that bug while playtesting, but it will hopefully be fixed in the next update.
Thanks for playing the game; I really appreciate it! And good luck to you too!
Very fun and extremely creative, definitely agree with other people in terms of wanting to see more enemies and the UI is a bit buggy but apart from a bit of polish being missing (which all game jam games are) its a great game that i really enjoyed playing! :D
Thanks man! I really appreciate it :)
Love the building mechanic ! This is a great idea that needs better balancing, some way to find other enemies on the map, maybe smaller enemies that you see more often (seems weird to be the only thing moving on screen, you could see it as some vampire survivors kind of game, that would work great with legos and building your player in my opinion).
Really good job on the lego part I really enjoyed that :)
Thanks for the feedback. You are absolutely right! It does need better balancing. Hopefully, something I will fix in a future update. Also, it's funny that you say it; I am actually considering making it even more like vampire survivors, with possibly different waves and stuff. We'll see.
Anyway, thanks for playing my game!
Awesome Idea and a good implementation. the UI is a bit buggy the numbers arent great. Camera is a bit weird but the same camera with a bit adjustment would feel awesome. The combat is enjoyable but it could be scaled up a bit
Thanks for the feedback. That's true; the combat is over pretty fast. I might increase the health points for the different blocks to make the battles last longer.
And I 100% agree on the UI. It's a problem. It's also way too big, haha. Thanks for trying out my game!
Great little game. Liked the building mechanic a lot, and combat was actually really fun. Mechanics work well with the lego theming and the music is cool. The camera moves a little funkily though, and I kept running into an issue where the game would freeze after I died and would need to reopen the game. Overall, awesome work!!!
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, the camera was a big problem. I just couldn't figure out what I actually wanted it to look like. In the end, I decided to keep it as it is and focus on other stuff. But I will improve it in future updates. Also, the game/movement freeze bug after dying is something I never encountered while playing, and that makes me scared of bugfixing it because I have no idea what's causing it haha.
When it first started I had no idea what was going on..
But as soon as the combat started... damn!
I suddenly had an urge to defend myself from this fast little enemy (with a freaking aimbot!).
Really cool concept.
A few ideas to polish it:
A direction indicator for the closest enemy
A clear indication of whether I can or can't place or afford a new item
A different way to show my inventory and the costs
A tutorial would help with some of those elements but if you want the game to be intuitive I think all 3 would help.
Charming concept as well.
Thanks for playing my game and the constructive feedback!
The indicator is definitely at the at the top of my list of things to update in the future.
The Ui shows how many resources you have and how expensive each building block is. But I guess it's not obvious enough, so that's something I need to change. The UI is too big, so there's also that haha.
A tutorial would have been great, but sadly, I didn't have time. But I definitely plan on adding one.
Again, thanks for the suggestions!
Amazingly fun game! The graphics and gameplay loop are so fun. Amazing for a 96 hr project. The audio and building systems were very polished, my only complaint was this bug where i would occasionally get stuck after dying, but relaunching fixed that issue rly fast so no worries. Great game!
Thanks for the feedback! I am actually not aware of that bug. So that's really helpful.
You just couldn't move after dying?
when respawn I cant move my tank i hope you can fix this
Okay that's good to know. Will fix it in a future build! Thanks for playing my game!
Very cool game! The Lego design and sound effects were on point! It would be nice if you added some sort of guide to where the enemies are but other than that good job!
Yep! That's definitely something I plan on adding in the future. Thanks for the feedback and playing my game :)
Creativity and style is 8/10 game have some miner bugs
Haha I really appreciate it :)
I love the lego aesthetics, even in the sound department, it really is unusual to see a jam game like that.
I love the simple gameplay and upgrade system, I could really see that as an simple online multiplayer game.
Great entry!
Wow! Thanks for the positive feedback. I am glad you liked it. I would love to expand the scope of the game, but since this is a game jam, the code is kind of a mess, and I am scared to look at it again haha.
The game is really cool and fun to play. It has nice aesthetics and solid sound effects. The music loop can become a bit irritating over time.
It would be helpful to have some indication of where enemies are or when they’re coming. At the beginning, I wasn’t sure if an enemy was going to appear or not. I initially thought the game was incomplete and only had the construction part.
Small thing but having the mouse used for both construction and shooting feels a bit awkward, as you have to shoot to build. Maybe separating these into different scenes, such as a fight scene and a construction scene could improve the experience (if you plan to continue working on it).
Splitting resources might not have been the best choice. If they were kept together, the player would have to make decisions between defense, speed, and offense. Which would add a strategic element to the game.
The fights are definitely fun but end a bit too quickly, and collisions can be quite harsh. Perhaps the blocks need more durability. Also big enemies are really tough ;).
I’m sure the game has the potential to be a lot of fun with a few adjustments.
Good job!
Holy, that's a lot of awesome ideas.
First, the indication would have been awesome. I know the enemies appear a bit suddenly, and if they are stronger than you, you are pretty much done.
For the point you make with the mouse, that was something I realized while developing, but I just didn't have time. I am probably going to change it, so if you hover over the UI or want to place a block, I am going to deactivate shooting for that time.
Not seperating the resources would have been better, true. I don't know why I did that, now that I think about it. It would have also saved me some UI space, haha.
Thanks for the great feedback and playing my game; I really appreciate it.
Nailed the style and you got a good hook to make people try the game. Like the others have said before me the balancing is very off. Besides that, because each currency buys only one thing there's less room for strategizing and making interesting decisions. An webgl build would have been nice also.
Yeah, I agree. The balance definitely fell short. I tried my best in the last 30 minutes to make it somewhat fair, haha. Also, I would have loved to add more building blocks; I actually already did the coding for them; I just didn't have enough time on the art side. But well, I guess that's just the typical game jam experience, haha. Thank you for your comment and feedback... and obviously aslo for playing the game, my friend!
This is so cool! I love the Lego theme, and it sounds just as good as it looks :D It definitely needs some more balancing in regards to the enemies, there's not enough enemies and the ones that are there are too overpowered, sprinkling a few small enemies around would help a lot with starting out.
100%. Tweaking the value of how big an enemy should be definitely got under my skin, haha. The chance of a big enemy is currently 10%, with an additional 5% for extra-big enemies. The problem is that if you are big and the chance is low, it can get boring really quick because you are just too overpowered, and if you are small and the value is high, you just get destroyed. I might need to add a value that checks the player size and calculates the chances accordingly in the future. Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate you giving the game a try and writing a comment!
Interesting idea. Building a vehicle modularly out of legos is pretty cool. Needs more polish. Tank controls make it hard to maneuver effectively, and it's not fun to spend lots of time looking for enemies in a barren environment, only to be surprised by an overpowered vehicle that destroys you in no time time at all. It'd be great if there was more strategy around brick placement, to further build on this concept.
Yeah. The environment is a point that's lacking currently. I would love to add some more interesting-looking tiles. It's definitely something I might come back to in the future. For the strategic aspect, I actually planned on adding a shield block and stuff. That would have probably made the building more interesting. Maybe in a future update. Thanks for the feedback!
