great presentation and fun take on the theme. As other said the collision was a little wonky, specifically the ramp for me. I also think the levels were very short. I could see this being developed into a lemmings or "mario vs dk" like game.

A very interesting twist on zombie tsunami and the art is charming

the only thing that bugged me were the collisions, my kaiju was getting stuck in a lot of strange places

Great visuals and equaly good sound design!
I wish I could see what is in front a little sooner but I guess you wanted to fit 3 kaijus on the screen?
So maybe the solution would be to just pack them in a little? So that they're more like a flock running together than one behind the other.

Anyway it was a fun little experience!

Art is cool and I liked the comic style story at the start

The scaling mechanic was fun to play with but the targeting was a little buggy and not work sometimes especially with the Kaijus.

The objective of the game confused me a little as I thought I was trying to save the Kaiju not get them wrapped in barbed wire :D

Also press any key doesn't work with the mouse :D

Overall I had fun - but would like to have seen more done with the levels.

Nice job ❤️

Nice little game. The concept is quite interesting and the result is enjoyable. However, there are a few things that could be improved. First of all, the ui looks a bit pixelated to me and some ui elements are a bit counterintuitive (for instance, the helicopter getting in front of the player). Also, the levels are too few given how easy they are to complete and the scaling mechanic doesn't play a vital role except for a few obstacles.

Cute game with really charming art, though I must say the levels are way too easy and hand holdy.

Also the second level doesn't have any obstacles that require using the scaling mechanic which was a little disappointing considering that beyond that, all you can do is jump.

Developer

True, thank you for playing!

Nice game, I think the levels might have been out of order because level 5 taught scaling Kaijus but the early levels used this mechanic which took me a while to figure out. Other than that it was really fun.

I really liked the art style in this game. It's so good. The idea of the helicopter following you and helping you with the scaling is nice. About the gameplay it's great and funny and with more time it can be developed into a really great game.

I'm in love with the art style of the game! It just helps make this game burst with charm which I always adore seeing. Mechanics were simple and easy to grasp though I did feel like a lot of the levels were short. Overall, great work!

Cute art, but the levels felt short It was weird that at finishing a level didn't start the next one directly

Thank you for the feedback

Super cool game! I really enjoyed making the kaiju huge and destroying the tank/barbed wire. I think it would be a bit easier to control the sizing if you could hold down the mouse-button instead of having to tap it a bunch -- my finger got tired, lol. Great job!

True we planned this but couldnt make it work in time

I was super glad to see that you guys went with the Kaiju concept and wrapped it up neatly. The art style is very charming, although the some of the comics were a little hard to follow. The mechanic is definitely nice, but I feel it fell a bit flat in a few places (some of which were simply due to a lack of time I’m sure).

  • I think that the levels could be much longer.
  • The levels also end rather abruptly with the win screen just popping out of the blue. Some smoothness using a tween and maybe a visual indicator of the level end would be good.
  • After the end of each level, it would also be nice if it just launched into the next level instead of the level select.
  • From a UX perspective, the scaling mechanic should definitely work on mouse button hold rather than repeated clicks. It gets rather annoying and doesn’t feel like the best way to introduce difficulty into the game.
  • The collision hit boxes felt a bit buggy here and there as I got snagged onto stuff that didn’t feel right visually.
  • There was also a strange visual bug with a black outline cast on the Kaiju if the helicopter got too close. image.png
  • It would improve the game feel if the helicopter lerp-ed behind the mouse cursor with a lag instead of snapping directly onto it.

I think the main gimmick is fun, but the execution could do with some more work. Otherwise, the whole kaiju aesthetic is very cute!

Developer

thanks

You can only enlarge Kaiju if the horde has more than one Kaiju. And the shader outline is for all the objects you can enlarge and it looks weird on small Kaiju. We did not have time to iron it out.
Thanks for checking out the game and the detailed review ^_^

Love the art. Some of the intro comics are a bit hard to understand at times and has some jank but makes it all the more cute. I like that it’s easy and quick to play, especially since it’s a jam game.
